    Great vid, one thing to add that you didn't mention is to make sure your jab is at the proper angle. You see a lot of kids doing a jab step but they're swinging their foot out more laterally than forward. If you're standing facing the basket, and you picture the ground in front of you as a clock, (and you are gonna jab to the right) you want to make sure you're jabbing towards 1 on the clock. Jabbing towards 2 isn't gonna rock the defender well, and jabbing towards 3 will do literally nothing.

    I got a question: I know to always protect the ball with ur arm and keep it behind yo hip so the defense can't steal it but I do that and quick defenders just steal it. Is that cuz I don't dribble quick enough? I dribble low too

    • @notbryan5952
      @notbryan5952 7 років тому +1

      You're partially correct. It's your confidence with your dribble, your reaction time, and your dribbling skill level. NBA players don't lose the ball too often because they are unpredictable. That's what you want to aim for. Of course be fast, be explosive, but more importantly never let your defender think he knows what you're going to do.
      In the beginning of the video he recommends his offensive training exercise with a lot of different variety on offense. Try that, and I'd say do it two times through. Once with repeating each move, and then one with mixing it up with a different move everytime. If you become comfortable with every move, basketball becomes a mental game.

      Gabriel Rivera I'd practice with your elbow behind your hip and then, I don't want to say flinging, but as fast as you can let off your normal shot. Most great shooters in the NBA at some point being their elbow to their side to keep the shot in line. I'm thinking it's a bit hard for you to keep your elbow in line when it's raised. Something that helped me was playing around the world with the free throw line

    My height is 5'10 and at school I am mostly known for playing as a center. I can play as a pf or sf sometimes. Which role can I choose if I am good at doing layups, ok at getting rebounds, alright at driving to the hoop but a 50/50 chance at shooting the ball, or just trying to get open and shoot a 3 when I have a 60% chance the ball doesn't go in the hoop. Feel free to leave comments on what position I should focus on more if I am trying to master those 3 and leave any tips to help step my game up on the court.

    • @radahiradahi141
      @radahiradahi141 7 років тому +1

      Wolf Films/Pranks/Gaming You should consider being a small forward because it opens up the floor for what you can do, whether you want to drive to the basket or shoot threes, like Lebron or Kawahi Leonard for example. If you're not good at shooting threes, the best time to improve them is during practice. If you have the opportunity, try shooting at least 4 or 5 shots during a pick -up

    • @notbryan5952
      @notbryan5952 7 років тому

      Well honestly man, if you're even remotely thinking of the NBA, don't blow it now by playing center. I imagine you're tall for your age but remember the average height of nba players and play to your strengths. If you think you'll be 6'8, practice being a small forward (shooting when open, driving, some post, medium dribbling level), if bank on being a bit shorter so maybe start practicing being a shooting guard. Shooting guards don't just chuck up 3's. Learn everything you can about any position you have interest in being. If you make it an obsession and all you care about, you'll most likely make it. Practice different situations over and over and over again. Practice dribbling even though shooting is more fun. Listen to the best shooters, dribblers, and drivers on what they thought when they were training, but also in game.

    • @jordanboundless
      @jordanboundless 7 років тому

      Try being a stretch 4 or stretch 5, maybe focus on 3-point shooting more than driving or shooting inside.

    • @justinbays265
      @justinbays265 6 років тому

      Wolf Films/Pranks/Gaming develop your games in all aspects!!! I go to a school where our kids aren’t that big, I’m 6’0 and considered a perimeter player because of my ball handling, quickness and ability to get off my own shot where ever I want it on the court. I’m the same size as our power forwards and I still have a very clean post game, but realistically, I know if I were to ever advance in my basketball career with me being my height I would be a guard so i do everything I can to be know as a guard even with being one of the taller players. If your just trying to be a solid contributor on your team and your not worried about after high school then maybe just focus on your down low game but if your hoping to play some college ball then you gotta have guard skills, still have a down low game, but focus more on getting guard skills and showcasing them
