Thank you coach for all the shooting videos. Previously when I shot 3s, the ball never got close to the rim. But after watching all your shooting hack videos, I'm now able to shoot the ball & it reaches the rim now. Thank you so much for all your videos
I played in the mid 70's and learned how to shoot by watching Adrian Dantley, who was one of the better shooter in college and the NBA. He did the things your talking about now . He loaded from the thigh, had feet offset, and didn;t have a palm gap. I shot 53 % from the field shooting between 16-19 ft from the basket as a small forward
I feel like this video demonstrates the difference between my jump shot (more consistent from outside) vs my brothers jump shot (what the coaches tell you) perfectly. My set point is basically in line with my eyebrows whereas my brother is more at the top of his forehead leading to him having a slow clunky jumper at times, where mine is a lot more fluid
Coach im hearing this new thing about ball before body but ut stopped me with my range but now i lok at ppl like steph and dame they do that so im very confused
Over the years there has been countless players who's shot are directly affected by coaches...these coaches mean well by the style doesn't fit the players comfortability
There is NO SINGLE TECHNIQUE, there are some techniques that are better than others, but there is NO SINGLE RIGHT WAY. If you are doing anything else close to right using any decent technique and you are getting consistent reps and tons of those reps, you will be a good shooter. Focus on an 11 O'Clock Release and being in Balance and you will be a good shooter. Dip or No Dip, High Release, Forward Releaed, Low Release. All of that is stuff to nitpick. It might all be worth trying while you are learning. But pick something that FEELS NATURAL to you and your hands, have a good release and let it fly. Tons of shots that are NOT PERFECT will go in. Tons of shots that SEEM PERFECT will miss. Don't overthink it. It is a GAME and most of you have NO SHOT at being PROS no matter how much you over-correct yourself. Save some time for the REST of your GAME. Develop your Body. Develop your Mind. Non-Shooters get SCHOLARSHIPS TOO (just not at Shooting Guard) R B R - Rhythm, Balance, Release
I remember in the 6th grade, I shot with a dip. I had no clue I shot with a dip till a few years later when I started to research how to fix my jump shot but I do remember, it was much easier/effort less with it. In 7th grade PE class, my coach told me stop doing that. The lower the ball is, the easier it is for a defender to knock the ball away when you shoot. SO! From 7th grade till in the early 20s, I shot with no dip and always wonder why my shot was off. I didn't really see what was going on until I saw some video footage of myself. Special shoutout to two people. Colin, for helping me fix it and for the not named 7th grade coach who messed up my jump shot many years ago.....

Hey coach, when I get pick up the ball after a dribble how do I get my hands set on the ball faster? Tips or a video? Also your form is fire 🔥
Get your body lower. Use a strong pound dribble so the ball comes back up to your hands with some force.
@RichardTroyerVolleyball i agree

Your coach probably never shot the ball well either lol. I’m sorry.
