    Thanks Dr Boz, amazing insights you bring us as always.
    Those in hurry, cliff notes.
    If you are hard insulin resistant, you have to keep consistency in your IF and low carb life.
    A binge say once a month with make your insulin set point high. It will always remember the highest number. Depending on how defective your insulin/sugar ratio is, dictates how long the set point stays put. The longer you are consistant and stable the faster and more flexible eventually it will become. But it could take weeks to decades, be patient. It will happen. 🙂

      Could it be that stress is causing persistent high glucose? 110 after over 48 hours of fasting seems super weird, tbh. In my case, I notice that daily meditation helps.

    I believe I have a better understanding of the cyclical process of my fasting bg levels. Been keto 2.5 years. My glucose levels have certainly dropped, but I have a 10-14 day cycle where my fasting bg bottoms out at 75-85, then gradually rises to 95-105, then drops again. I don't cheat or binge, and I have an 18-24 hour fast every day. Thank you, Dr. Boz.

    what most people do not realize is starches and sugars were very scarce in the past, starch-containing food was available only one season out of four; agriculture did not introduce plant-based food, only allowed people to store lots and lots of seeds containing starch

    Can you explain how fasting weekly impacts your dr boz ratio and metabolism/ mitochondria to be able to have more flexibility in the amount of carbs you eat over the weekend? How does it help keep a healthy dr boz ratio /metabolism like your lifestyle that you have found that works for you. You just explained how not staying keto all week can impact our overall dr boz ratio. If we add in weekly fast how would that help us maintain a better overall weekly dr boz ratio.

    Okay, I see the part that I’ve missed in the past, and of course I can’t recall the name. The memory. The cell’s memory thingy (please someone with a better memory than me help me out with the full name) is why it can take so long. So when I have a Mexican meal after my monthly hospital weigh in or go on a carb bender after my 90 day A1C test I am not helping myself at all. I mean that’s obvious but not THIS obvious. I envy the person who’s able to learn that certain foods aren’t good for them and simply stop having them. Maybe this will help my inner voice conversations in the future.

I am 28 days into this lifestyle, and although I have “only” lost 4-6 lbs, my Boz ratio has steadily declined! My glucose is slowly coming down, the ketones are slowly going up! HOWEVER, I have had energy issues for DECADES. And still struggle with no energy. Any idea when that might change? Is it just that my mitochondria are still all jacked up? How do caffeine supplements affect all this? I cannot get through the day without them. (OTC Diet pills).

    So what is exactly you are saying here? How long does it take to "undo" - lower your "memory" of your sugar and how is that actually "measured" by ketone production on the strips or by sugar levels or both? Is the "memory" you are talking about the same thing as what your A!C measures via blood test? Thanks in advance for your response. God Bless:)

    • @donnacharles7348
      @donnacharles7348 Місяць тому +1

    • @legaleagleandpaws8198
      @legaleagleandpaws8198 Місяць тому +3

      @@donnacharles7348 I got that it is variable for each person. My question is once you are NOT insulin resistant because you have been on Keto for 5 years does that lower your body's "memory" of your sugar levels and is the "lab work" you referenced part of the "typical fast" before the blood is drawn or are you talking about taking your own sugar levels while you are doing a 36 intermittent hour fast? Thanks and God Bless:)

    • @donnacharles7348
      @donnacharles7348 Місяць тому

      @@legaleagleandpaws8198 so my understanding is we are all at a moment in time in testing. I thought insulin memory is always there & should you begin to eat sugar again, your insulin would go to its highest level. Not sure if this is measured or more so “class study”. Yes, fasting insulin test is a regular overnight fast blood lab work. Best to you too, thank you.

      @@legaleagleandpaws8198 (don’t wanna beat a dead horse but maybe this analogy will help) Think of those who diet their lifetime. Each time, the new weight gain is more. Memory is responsible. Yes, autophagy clears but it’s not a permanent fix if one refeeds, increasing insulin. Test to monitor & fast to always help clean up. Hope this helped. Insulin is STUBBORN!

  • @markthoman

    It's reassuring to see that BG doesn't follow a straight line down, and ketones a straight line up, when fasting. My liver cranks up dawn glucose when i fast. Every morning it fuels me to get out there and hunt. The morning after a fasting refeed I get my best numbers. Flip side, if I walk lift and do calisthenics like normal, I lose =/>1lb/day when fasting.
