9:14 Glenn Stafford. He's been Blizzard's music composer since at least Warcraft II and is one of the longest standing employees of theirs. Also is the voice of SCVs in both SC1 and SC2.
He's also the Wraith pilot in SC1 and SC2 too I think
As a matter of fact, we do not use Tracey's Armory for our spacemarine corps. We have some production of our own back on Earth and colonies.
Im loving your comments, Vice Almiral
My two favorite moments in Lowko's videos:
1. When he's not gonna lie
2. When he's being completely honest
Underrated
Personal favourite of mine is when he is secretely hoping for something.
look at all those lowko moments in just one video!
Yaaaah, indeed!
Much more epic when he says: «Oh, I can easily defeat them doing this!» - and does something different right away.
Honestly I thought he'd clear all 4 bases without realizing the hive shut them down haha. I'm impressed! He's almost paying attention!
Thank you for having videos prepared to upload while you're at BlizzCon! I certainly appreciate it, and I'm sure many of your other fans do as well. 😃
Jeff D Thank you for watching them!
Yes, I agree: Terran 1 is definitely one of the best piece of gaming music out there... Zerg 1 is also awesome :)
he brute forces all the missions, i plays SC1 ages ago, and i remember as a kid trying to outsmart the PC. For lowko he just builds alot, no regard to losses xD come on man, those are your men
Yeah indeed. I valued the life of my men back then. I played safe and slow with minimal losses🤣
Yea, If you observe, each Hive has it's own speciality of forces and therefore also a counter.
12:24 that SCV died as a hero! :'( haha.. btw I love how lowko doesn't try to figure the best strat, he just goes any composition and doesnt change it unless things get messed up haha.
so much sc2 :(
Actually, an interesting mission because of the "destroy the core-disable all enemies" mechanic. And another side: all Zerg bases has some weaknessess (Red - no AA defence at all; Brown - Hive can be sniped from hg: Purple - small defence, only hg advantage: Orange - actually the hardest one). So, proper army comp can make this mission way easier.
BUT STILL, the most intense part of the Episode is coming right up! Prepare yourself, Lowko! There's gonna be a lot of fun...
P.S. Poor ol' Tarsonis. Still lying in ruins after Zerg invasion. RIP
P.P.S. I found the true title of the previous mission - GTB (Grand Theft Battlecruiser).
Orange also has a weakness.. it's mainly just spores and guardians, with 0 flyer attack. 0 attack upgrade guardians deal damage slower than medics can heal marines. Orange also has zero air defense on the back side of the hive; you can just fly a group of wraths on the map edge and shoot the hive for free.
Let's face it: Lowko just isn't good with gathering intel and acting upon it. He's just like "What do I want to go for?" and does just that - massively.
It is entertaining, but sometimes cringy for people who - like me - always try to minimize casualties.
just like when he was attacking red base and was like "was a heavily fortified position" ya against the ground, no AA at all
I beat the mission with only 36 marines and 12 medics (a few drop ships for the purple base). Max upgrade marines are all the bases weaknesses lol
20 Medics per 1 Marine. Trust me. Kappa
By the way, Terran Theme 1 is composed by Glenn Stafford, Derek Duke, and Jason Hayes
And for the next mission, make sure to destroy the Physics Labs in the North Base. It has a more fun branch-off from there.
Oh yeah. Destroy the labs! You will LOVE the next mission after that one!
Yep! Depending on how you play the next mission, the mission after that will be different.
But the ghost only is a lot more difficult than the battle only XD
Shh man! Don't spoil it! Ground Zero version is so much cooler and more fun than Birds of Prey!
It's only a one mission split before it recombines. Doing it twice to show both versions is perfectly viable.
Pro tip: Starcraft use to leave an EVIDENT hint of how attack certain bases. For example, the red base was full with Ultras and Sunken colonies.
Guess what? Neither of those can hit air units.
And the orange base had virtually no ground defences.
You guys do not understand. He plays at Lowko difficulty :D
Air for red
Ground for orange
Just attack the hive from above the ramp for brown
And a little bit of wraiths + drops on purple
@@menelik6652purple hive is in range of tanks from the low ground too. I was planning to hit the spores there for a drop but didn't even need the drop
the moment when lowko sent his medics to kill muta :D 8:15
And that's how Morales got promoted.
Lowko be like: If you don't want to kill the mutas you guys will loose you waifus!
Lowkos tactics remind me of Starship Troopers very first invasion...
Try 4-5 marines per medic.
This level was one of my favorite levels in StarCraft, I love it. The StarCraft music in general is great.
Why does Lowko have so much faith in the Wraith haha
Brown: tanks on high ground, right click hive, done in 10 seconds with zero casualties.
Purple: tanks below hive with wraith/dropship for vision, right click hive, done in 10 seconds with zero casualties.
Red: wraiths, cloak, kill overlords while flying up, right clock hive, done in 30-40 seconds with zero casualties.
Orange is the only tricky one, and trying to kill it without losing units might not be worth the time investment necessary.
But I guess if you don't give half of a fuck how many units you completely unnecessarily lose, don't use brain while playing games, or both, whatever this was can work. You were right, you really do suck at single player SC.
Just realized that I haven’t seen Lowko rapid click on the units to hear their different lines... Protoss and Terran units have fun sayings after a few basic lines.
Hi, Lowko. If you are going to make videos casting Starcraft 2 campaign, could you also complete the so-called specialist achievements for each mission?
Easy strategy - brown and violet zerg - Tank + marine + medic, shoot from/up the cliff. Red - send the wraiths only (no anti air). Orange - some goliath/marines
At first I had my doubts with the remastered version worth but now that I see it I love it! everything looks much better! and still conserves the original model, except for the build interface which I think was better in the past. Still I think I may buy it!
love the eyebrow thing the rebel is always doing in the conference
Loved that URAAAAA! style of charge in the end.
9:00 How can you NOT love the Terran music? Like, hot damn, it's such good music for everything.
Dududududu DU DUDU
Dududududu DUU DUDUU
LOL shows the wraiths going invisible and appearing, then they just juke you out like hah GOTCHA ;D
In sc1, spending gas in the late game is a whole struggle in general.
Hey Lowko, I'm not sure if the remastered kept the same easter eggs as the original but if you select the same unit enough times they'll voice new dialog. The one I remember for is the medic
Bro, it’s so painful. That purple base can be knocked out by siege tanks if you’d just get vision on it!
Red base has no anti ait, brown and purple hives can both be snipped with tanks, which leave just the orange, with guardians. I used goliath for that
Lowko finally realising the importance of static defense XD
For the purple base all you needed to do was have two siege tanks on the lower ground in siege mode then use a comsat station to reveal the hive. Then they just destroy it.
Love the video, and as always Lowko masses and maxes on 200/200 supply and just A-moves across the map, doesnt matter which race, which mission, which map he got it!!!! Keep up the good work. NOTIFICATION SQUAD? WHERE WE AT?
That poor scv at 12:20 caught up in the hotkey group
With the brown base there was no need to send units down into the base. You can just have siege tanks on the cliff then destroy the hive from there.
All Lowko's questions made me think he needs to go watch Day9's "Let's Learn Starcraft" series. Probably doesn't have that kind of time though, 15x 1-2 hours. Also not exactly necessary unless he gets into multiplayer more.
one of the best remastered missions
played by one of the dumbest sc1 player
@@FeeDBacKMKII Absolutely. Intelligent tactics were non-existent.
Going the long way through multiple Spine Colonies instead of sniping the Hive from a cliff with Siege Tanks? Sure why not.
Purple base Hive can be sniped from the ledge with siege tanks and a couple of flying units
Brown base can be sniped from the ledge and siege tanks
Red Hive can be sniped with wraiths
Orange Hive can be sniped with wraiths through the back door
Lowko, you can just kill the hive. Don't worry about the base
You can actually kill the purple base from the south. A single siege tank can snipe the hive while a couple marines defend it. Add a flying unit to get high ground vision and you're set.
You can do the same with all the enemy bases of this mission. Their hives are always in the outskirts of the base near a high/low ground with no near ramp. No need to fight the defenses of any of them.
hey Lowko! you missed a mission in Starcraft remastered! if you aquire all of the battle cruisers with the pilots you'll go to a secret easter egg level revealing cool secrets with the protoss, zerg and xel'naga!
What are you talking about? The secret mission comes after the 9th zerg mission (if you complete that one under 25 min). I've never heard of a secret mission after the Dylarian shipyards mission...
12 marine in a control group with 2 medics following marines. 2 medics can heal each other as well as marines, having them follow instead of in the control group lets you use the marine skills properly.
Just to repeat myself so that you may see it: there are very nice BONUS CAMPAIGNS FOR SC1 AND BW! Enslavers and Dark Vengeance.
Silly Lowko, the red zerg was a ground based defense type. your wraiths would have killed red with little resistance
Duran's concussive damage will make him quite a good defender against Mutas and other units that count as "small" :)
You just have to siege the tanks like you did in minute 12 and sit there until you kill hive then all those zerg go neutral. Just bring a few tanks and marines to protect them early in game, with 4 tanks and 6 marines you are more than fine. For the purple you need lots of anti air. I think I killed brown real quick and then started building nukes going towards valkyre/battlecruiser. The purples are easy tu nuke the hive if you position carefully and scare overlords with science vessel's irradiate. The other 2 have big defenses like guardians and lots anti air and ultras and lots of sunkens so go air with reds and ground with some wraiths for guardians for orange.
Should've used tanks to snipe hives. Yes they can attack from both high and low ground. Though with low ground, you will need sight. You could snipe all hives with tanks except the orange.
Can notice a traitor among his ranks but can't notice anything on the mini map. XD
Should drop the tanks on the cliff t he northwest when dealing with the red zerg
Could easily snipe the hive from there save your marines from being slaugtered by those ultras
Medic is hot af
Get a girlfriend man
spam click on her and she'll say some funny stuff :D
Get a girlfriend Jeff!
Hey Lowko! The next mission lets you choose what you want to destroy (I recommend destroying the physics lab,it's way more fun) If you really want to, you could destroy both and play mission 5 twice :)
If not, I really think you should go for the Physics lab. Keep up the good work! :)
NOOOOOO LOWKO! Just keep using the siege tanks to destroy the Hive!
I know that more than a kind of unit for match it is a pain, but if you leave 2 or 3 goliath in the base you will have a good screen against the IA harass. They are lethal against air and good against light units, especially with the range upgrade.
Rum prepared, let's do this!
Siege tank can snipe almost every hive even on low ground. they just need a vision and you have your scan :)
Lowko, you are pretty chaotic in figts :)
Upvote this so Lowko knows to destroy the physics labs for the next mission and not the silos
Andrew Pellet I think he should try both. I always seemed to destroy the silos so was definitely challenging.
Terran soundtrack 1 is easily one of the best songs in any video game ever.
Samir Duran is a big carachter, but not only in BroodWar, but also in Starcraft II. ¿Did you remember Zeratul's dialogue in the intro from Legacy of the Void?
(...) Narud, known for the terrans as Samir Duran
Eliud Sta.Maria
Write Duran backwards.
I know I am a year late, but he is trying not to spoil the story in case people watch the series without knowing the sc2 plot.
3 marines per medics its a pretty good ratio also you could du a medic walling to stop the ultralisks and zerglings from getting to your base
imo the best way to hotkey is to NOT hotkey every single unit
hotkey a group of unit to jump your camera there then just move the other units around it
Your sim city has been hurting my brain in this entire play through :P SC1 buildings are big and clunky, as are most units, utilizing the space you have is half the strategy :) nice play through though Lowko. Thanks for the many hours entertainment.
You will notice throughout this campaign that Duran's voice is becoming different for every mission especially the 7th mission.
You could have killed that first hive (brown) just by using a bunch of siege tanks on the high ground. You didn't have to move into the base to kill it.
my control groups for marine+medic at least for campaign is 8 marines and 4 medics and run with 2 or 3 groups with the same composition for my bio army
Scan.
And tanks.
Also science vessel.
Yes. Please. Lowko, scan the map instead of sending you units in suicide missions without any planning XD
Also some restore.
Yeah... it's always kinda funny to see Lowko finishing the missions without learning what he should in the current mission. This one is an example of how he should've used dropships/vessels/scan to get vision of the high ground and fire up with tanks and also droping the tanks on high terrain instead of actually wiping out the entire base losing 1x10^154 units. But I guess that's what's Lowko about, keeps it interesting for what will he do next, hahaha.
The spell usage and way to group units it's silly too tho... even sends scv's XD
I find it easier to use one hotkey for marines then the other hotkey for medics and fire bats and use A move on the marines then micro the medics behind the marines
Regardless of the question, the answer is siege tank marines.
I propose having 4 meds per 8 marines / fbats. Ideally 1 med per 2 bio
I wonder if there are any Confederate remnants on Tarsonis?
Kim Josh Angelo Cejas no way in hell, they all got overrun by zerg, millions of them
12:30 is that medic standing on top of the bunker?
Could've just easily siege tanked both purple and brown. I think red only had ground defenses so you could've just used wraith on them.
Did you know there's actually a little dude inside the missile turret spinning around forever?
I did not. fascinating
Imagine being that e4
Why do u SEND the SCV in? -_- (first base atack)
Happy Birf-day!
16:44 Apparently you can siege the purple hive from below *facepalm*
Oh lowko you could have just sent a few Wraiths to the red base there is next to no anti air
Caleb Francis but still they have hydralisks
a control group of wraiths can 1 shot them
I usually have 8 marines and 4 medics per control group. so 2 to 1
12:24 did that scv repair that spore colony?????
It’s their attack animation
stil, the struggle is real :D
Why in Lowko's video the graphic is exceptionally good compared to my Starcraft Remastered?
You do know that the objective of destroying the Hives is what you would call a bonus objective? Right?
Rip hero scv 12:20
Is Lowko playing on hardest difficulty? I just watched the old husky video of the final BW mission. Remember failing that so many times as a kid.
There are no difficulty settings for Brood War or StarCraft 1.
wow, really? I didn't even remember that. Well, looking forward to those last zerg missions
You have a good ratio Lowko, 4 to 1.
I much prefer the zerg and protoss music to the terran themes.
I would usually use 3 medics per group of 12.... because 2 does not seem to be enough for me, but It may be that I lack micro... hehe If your are not "dividing" your army, then I would say 1 medic every 4 marines. Of course, you probably wont see this since you are at blizzcon hehehe
wait a sec. if you have a group of 12 and 3 of these is medics you get a medic per 3 marines. Or do you mean 3 medics and a group of 12 marines (15 unit control group in starcraft tho?)
I meant that if I use them in the same group as marines I would go 3 medics, 9 marines so that if I split my control groups I have enough healing available.... if I am using multiple marine groups and then a medic group I would go with like 4 groups of marines and 1 of medics. There's usually a limit to how many of your marines are getting pounded by the enemy, if I am deathballing my way in a mission or so (never played multiplayer in Broodwar) you dont need as many medics as if your are splitting your forces or "probing" the enemy
I find a 2:1 marine-medic ratio works well. But maybe that's because I just enjoy stim abuse and immortal marines at the (maybe) cost of damage.
Ok, that's cringe ;) Red has NO air defense, so Lowko builds up aerial armada and attacks... Purple. While pushing Red with ground troops :P
Lets goooo
Oh hey, this mission is less cringey compared to the other missions you played. Job well done sir!
I know it's 3 years ago but I cringed hard at not simply using siege tanks to snipe the hives. He sacrificed a lot of marines busting in the zerg bases
What en epic fail on part on AI casting dark swarm..
Lowko does not like the Firebats!
Does anyone? They're good against Zerglings and not much else.
1 medic on 4 marines, if I remember correctly.
red base had no anti air units nor defenses
Haha the one base with no anti air you overrun with ground forces! lol and THEN use your wraiths! lol
I got mine at Tracys lol
Take It Away!
Yaaaas
Oh hey I'm early
3-2 marines to 1 medic and 1 scv for 2 tanks...
surprised you didn't just let your tanks destroy the hive from the cliff. stop unit production at that base.
If you thought they were speaking in innuendos, keep clicking a medic to hear more amusing lines.
