Apparently the UED took control of Renegade Zerg and decided to attack Kerrigan directly on Korhal. However, shortly after fighting the opposing Zerg, we find out that they may very well not be controling the Zerg from Tarsonis but right here on the planet instead.
In this video I play the the sixth mission of the Zerg Campaign of the StarCraft: Brood War expansion called "Fury of the Swarm".

@LOWKO, since you often play missions days before uploading the videos, let's say the one thing so many have been saying (BUT many giving false information about details...).
There is a SECRET MISSION which you can unlock in the 9th zerg mission titled "The Reckoning" and play after that one. As for mission objective, you must complete "The Reckoning" in 30 minutes. If you complete the mission under 25 minutes (5 min or more left in the timer) you unlock the secret mission. Please note however, that the secret mission won't appear in the mission selection screen, so you can only enter it via completion of the 9th mission.
The secret mission is truly a MUST play! Not only it offers quite enjoyable gameplay, but it also ties BW story directly to the SC2 story!
It's not hard to complete The Reckoning under 25 min. When the original BW was released ages ago, I happened to unlock the secret mission without even knowing about it, beating the 9th mission under 25 min without particularly trying. So Lowko too could have unlocked the mission without knowing about it, but just making sure here... :)
There are some fun transmissions from Duran in the next mission. You should spam click him until he starts getting annoyed. Oh and in "The Reckoning", make sure to win the mission with AT LEAST 5 minutes remaining on the timer.
Brood War has set a high standard for rts campaigns, great mission.
I love you lowko! Just remember ZERG MISSION 9 Must be finished UNDER 25 Minutes.
Love the droperlord shenanigans! Heads up, the overlords have the unload icon in the bottom right when they still have units to unload, even in a group
that awkward moment when you've been watching a briefing on full screen and tried to press start button on crystal
And once again we can see mission from Starcraft that was adapted in the Frozen Throne. Remember mission from the Alliance campaign where you are starting with your main base on the island in the middle of the map and all of your several outposts on the corners were quickly destroyed by overpowered undead forces from the west? Dejavu is strong with this campaign.
Same thing happened when Hellscream was attacked by Cenarius
A lot of mission mechanics from WC3 were borrowed from SC1. And then later we saw some of the WC3 mission concepts adapted for SC2 like having to fight in an area that does damage to one race's units but not another race. And the story parallels between the two franchises fascinate me even more.
So in the mission where you get devourers, when you're swarmed with air, he does lurkers...
I love when you tell me to smile all right lowko :D
You should research burrow it is not too expensive and you can use it to protect your drones or units while you organize a counter-attack, thanks for the series it is amazing!
Starcraft 3 new Dragonlisk confirmed.
Ace Tropics That dragonlisk was also at the first terran mission where you meet Raynor
And he will be the father of the dragonlisk
Are they a mix of Omegalisks and Hunter killers?
Lowko, I have seen your progress from fumbling with micro and storming allied marines, to managing a lot of bases simultaneously in this level, you certainly have improved a LOT, I feel kinda proud LOL. I'm so glad to see people still appreciate this campaign and its difficulty, I know you do, even being such a good SC2 player! The only sad part is that this campaign (and with that, all of SC1) is ending soon! (:
biembi445 Never forget the storming of friendly Terran troops. Press F to pay respects.
His macro is still slipping badly, though, floating four digit resources on sub-150 supply…
Keep as many Hatcheries as possible on control or location hotkeys and go through them at regular intervals.
If you are floating 1000+ minerals, get another macro Hatch and spam Cracklings.
If you are floating 1000+ gas, get tech (Ultras, Guardians, Defilers).
If you are near 200 supply, just attack, attack, attack.
Two (working) strategies for island levels:
1.: Nydus channels
2.: Flying units
But I guess this wouldn´t be Lowko-difficulty. But smart. Well... Common sense.
FIRST COMMENT & LIKE!
Damn it Lowko!
You tooo gooddddd
LowkoTV lowko can u play wings of liberaty and finish the zerg camping on sc 2 plz
It's kinda funny we're watching you here while your'e also in Twitch right now. LOL.
LowkoTV yesssssss!!! Do SC2 campaign to!!
Hey Lowko,
Nydus canals.
They're really really useful in this mission.
Keep up the good work dude =)
Why not use the nydus network instead of the pain staking process of ovie drops?
8:31
Kerrigan: making an important point about the mission and plot of the game.
Lowko: We ReqUiRe mOrE mInErAlS.
No offence for 'Our forces are under attack' though 🙂
Good game as always! Peace
You should make nydus canals instead of endlessly shuttling units around in overlords. They are much more convenient and faster too.
yep! not that he doesnt need overlords tho, with all the enemy lurkers, but nydus feelsgoodman :D
also, my layman way of handling things is i put nydus in the direction the exit is so i know what goes where :))
Hey Guys I'm Lowko. Oh no I'm under attack! Time to morph Sunken Colonies on my island base! Wow though, I admit I was guilty my first time to try and make guardians. Here he came up with the legit strat on his own.
"I love the difficulty here tho"
12 Guardians, 12 Devourers. and scourges at will, would have suffices :)
and some static def to avoid running back and forth between bases or lose stuff like he did
If lazy, you can just sit on your island with a dozen spores, make 36 3/3 mutas, a-move to victory.
Massing tier 3 air gets kinda boring if its all you do.
I dont know how 12 defenders were effective for you, the reinforcement overwhelmed them so easily
Dude.. Nydus man, this hurt me deeply.. haha
Fun fact: the massive initial attack force is scripted to disappear offscreen, leaving a small number of defenders you can kill with some sweet micro if you save your initial defenders. Move fast enough, and you can spawn a drone in each base and literally start building a new hatchery right behind the attack force.
And ignore the naysayers: Lurkers are actually pretty good for killing the infantry-dominated Terran.
This is like the Orc Campain of the Warcraft3 HC
nice multi base management dude! too bad u didnt use nydus canals, as in ZvZ u can build the second entrance on enemy creep to make some deadly drops! loving the lurker carnage!
When you play The Reckoning mission, make sure that you have at least 5:01 minutes left on the timer for the bonus mission. The easiest way to finish the mission in 8 minutes is to send guardians to the right (an island in the middle) and destroy photon cannons and the cage, in the meantime rush for overlord speed & drop. Drop 2 drones to make hatcheries along with all starting units except zerglings (leave them to protect the main base). important, make sure air units survive so u can focus fire on the mean type of enemy.
These last Zerg missions in BW are the hardest.
This is the first mission you'll get to control Devourers. Since you didn't use it, you'll be able to use them again at Mission 8 onwards. Mission 7 DOES NOT allow you to morph air units.
funny enough am watching you play this mission while doing it myself, didnt get the mutalisks rush
also, while selected an overlord, (24:00) when u right-click a unit, it gets into the overlord; it doesnt make the overlord to follow that unit ;) use move command instead :) (Q on your binding xD )
lol when the victory button at 32:56 came up i try'd to hit it
the level after this is where the campaign started getting hard for me, like 3 hours a mission hard
LOWKO, MAKE SOME ULTRAS AT LEAST ONCE IN THE CAMPAIGN!
when can we get a dragonlisk mutator mission lets go
Nydus Canals are a thing.
We demand a Lowko asmr channel
You actually play this the fun and aggressive (more difficult) way. I always used to wait, gather some resources, and then go mass Mutas/Guardians. The AI just can't handle that. Don't even mention the mass Carrier/Arbiter when playing Protoss.
That's why my ass is constantly kicked in Multiplayer. =(
I played muta zergling for this mission... god damn that was hard
I didnt tryed to expand even if it was obviously the thing to do...
33:33 Video Length = Starcraft 3 Confirmed
Or you're trapped in a time loop.
Seems as if you forgot about nydus tunnels, no need to float the troops across...
Two words: nitus worms
nydus canal?
Wait what, was the Gyarados in the original version as well?
Hi Lowko, what Keyboard do you have to play Starcraft?
16:09 do the drone dance
Nydus!!!! Didn't see it again T>T
Thanks for the video :D
By the way lowko when you have overlord transport and then right click overlords on units they load them instead of following them. Thats part of the reason you always had spare units in your overlords. Otherwise entertaining with a small side of cringe as always. Keep on smiling.
just lowko thing... You know you could make nydus in this mission right?
Any way nice work was a tone of fun you where doing great too. (just next time you are on a island use some nydus plz :D could help you a tone :P)
SORRY FOR THE BAD ENGLISH thx for the fun Lowko :D
Tsk....he didn't even try nydus network
Your voice sound in game is getting even more quite, I can barely here the voices in the briefing. The music is loud and you are loud, but I can't understand what anybody is saying during cut scenes.
bubbaattack perhaps you should consider investing in a hearing aid.
Why didn't you just make a Nydus network lol
welll Nydus wold be helpfull if you have it :D
Hey, people!!! I want to ask you how can I upload a replay to lowko.tv? I don't know what I need to do.
theeldeivd you need to send the replay to replays@lowko.tv
But how do I do that?
theeldeivd Search for the replay file you want on the replays folder on the Starcraft directory, attach the file in a mail and voilá
Let me check. Thanks, man. Saludos.
The thing that triggers me the most about this playthrough is the sloppiness coming from a GM Starcraft player and the fact that he always forgets using detection >:( I still love you Lowko, but come on...
Its odd. Apparently his experience and high level play in Multiplayer doesn't translate the same to campaign. He overthinks certain things and doesn't think about other things at all.
He approaches these as if they are multiplayer matches and they arent the same thing. Like him committing wholy to one composition of units.
Personally , i enjoy sc2 more .
Yet again. Hope u will play SC2 camp
didnt he already?
legacy of the void yes, but wings of liberty and maybe heart of the swarm not
he totally did play heart of the swarm, man... watch?v=uThdCqAQWNg
Now i know he doesn't look like himself, but believe it or not he did play that :D
These pauses between missions just takes to long, it lost it's momentum. And with all cuts and shorter videos, gets a little bit boring. We all want to see how you cope with all those attacks, and you cut that parts out, not interested in seeing you cleaning maps with hydras or Guardians without using all that units that you unlock during campaign missions. You almost finished campaigns and you don't even now what spawn broodlings does, and how powerful it is.
Early again.
Nydus still exists! The Zerg Autobahn, much more efficient than Overlord-drops ;-)
In Starcraft 1, you can only put Nydus exits on Zerg creep (although they're still perfect to use in this mission because you can put them on enemy creep as well).
Saving the Hydras and a few Drones on the south strip allows you to retake those bases even without Nydus or Drop tech.
@Jono, also you can connect your bases to defend properly. There will be other missions, bases are far away from eachother.
good idea i have not though about it. I was wanted to Lowko go after flayers, but Lowko prefer ground units.
Nydus Schmydus
Are you aware of the things called nydus canals? :P Dropalords are all fun but slow compared to them ;) Still it's nice to see someone who doesn't know the story of original SC and is genuinely suprised by all the twists and turns! Good job on that Lowko!
When Brood War first came out, there were no online guides or video playthroughs out there like there are today to show you how to beat the missions back then. You had to figure it out all on your own or have some buds brainstorm strats with you. Because of those things, yes I will always say Brood War was harder compared to SC2, but that is what makes it a classic overall.
please Lowko, for god's sake, get used to "touching" ( ;P ) neutral units, they are almost all controllable after you approached them :D
Another one played on lowko difficulty (more than brutal).. lol... nydus!!!
"Hide my little zergling!" LOL!
Duran is not the last attempt by kerrigan to use infested terran as her consort, there is also Ethan Stewart an ex mercenary who she turn infested and love riding on mutalisk, in the end kerrigan consider him as failure project, so kerrigan began developing a zerg strain that capable leading an army, she took the basis of this creature from the queen and the first succesful creature is broodmother Zagara.
Thats why in sc2 queen no longer flying unit.
The difficulty of going fast enough is too much for me on this mission. I can't multitask fast enough to get a 2nd and 3rd base going while being tagged teamed by two zerg opponents throwing some much counter attacks at me.
I finally did get going but then..... material shortages and having to play wack a mole with a handle of armed cruisers harassing my poorly defended and string out all over the place gas mines. Not really a fun mission for me so far.
I got there after 2 hours of playing. All my resources were used up and when I assaulted one of the zerg bases all their minerals were gone. I then went to terrains who's resources were also gone. I think the zerg is getting intel from their terran buddies comscans. Their reprisals seem to be at the perfect place with the perfect tools allot of the times in my half of the map with either of the zerg broods.
I do need to take the enemy base much sooner. Building up an air army to move out is very slow and inefficient, although it is effective.
Interestingly enough when I did this mission again recently in the remastered version the caged zerg ran away before I got the victory. It was neat and it never happened in the original version.
"We need to defend our outpost"
Outpost: "yeah we got 1 sunken colony and no drones"
44th Comment!
i tried 1 base guardian, devourer in this mission, was super hard for me :D
4:30 Rekt
Again lowko plays an island map with no nydus canals.
I wonder, what would happens, if you won't find Duran in first mission?
Nothing changes. The game continues as if you found him. Must have been confusing for people who battered down the enemy base without gas.
I hate bloody island maps
Jumping hydra at 22:22
And this mission is the same as the one in Warcraft 3 where groom hellscream met mannoroh and killed cenarius
Does that matter? Blizzard retconned Warcraft 3 to make room for WoW.
Hmmm, it is quite different I think. It isn t as shoking sylvanas vs detheroc/garithos
Plasma Its actually more similar to the alliance mission in TFT where the undead overpower all of your outlying bases, and you end up using the Naga to help retake them
Chris Lewis i know right, the whole island thing is fitting
you learn to control and prioritize pretty quickly, i like it.
Thanks Peter!
Welcome and keep going I see that you like it even sc2 and also play very well there. I am retired from games just still from time to time came back like boomerang. Also do not give me mentioned that few games tempting me recently Abzu and Journey but I will not play them, but if... rather I will not think about it.
Lowko can u play wings of liberaty an finish the zerg camping on sc2
So if Artanis is the player from Starcraft 1....is Abathur the Celebrate that the Overmind made in Starcraft 1?
Light Archon No. The player cerebrate is unnamed, but it was mentioned in SC2 that Abathur was already in SC1, and that he was the one who experimented on Kerrigan.
Kerrigan kills all the cerebrates after Brood War to remain the sole ruler of the Zerg
