God, you are beautiful !! Great song too !! When you looked up from the video, and stared into the camera, I almost got lost in your eyes !! Love you. Keep it going !!
I remember listening to this song FULL BLAST driving down country roads in Indiana in the 80's, I was in High School, and that was quite awhile after it was released
I always look for reactions to the songs I liked while growing up (I grew up in the '90s but heard this song, despite its being from long before, many times) and this seems to be the most universal rock song ever. Only a few songs seem to be loved by anyone largely independent of where they're from and what they've heard but this is one of them. And I always love watching somebody react to one of these things that's truly a part of world culture.
I love this rock band song🤘🏻🎸 «Boston»! I like your snow-white smile 😀, beautiful dress 👗 and hairstyle 💇🏾♀️, make-up 💄 on top! Keep up the good work!
I was 8 years old when this song came out, I was 14 when I acually remember hearing it the first time, was hanging out with the girl that became my first girlfriend. Thanks for the memories my Empress/Goddess!
In the 70s there were 7 of us and our girlfriends and whenever Boston was in concert within 250 miles of us we went to the concerts. I saw them numerous times in Raleigh and Durham, NC, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta GA, Bristol TN and Nashville TN. Back then in the mid to late 70s there was no "white and black music. It was just (our) music. Our music then as now only had positive meanings. It's great to see all these podcasts finding out now what we have known for almost 50 years.
That's exactly what it was, Empress.🙂 The first song of the day, the first song on the (vinyl) album. This for months in my teen years. Shows how fresh this music is for younger generation, that you have that same reaction. Timeless, indeed!
Awwwww. I have missed you. I have been following you from earlier on and so good to see you back.. I thank you for your great honest reaction. Oh, you have many fans, and I am just one of the thousands. Amazing song and enjoy, listening and feeling like I am sharing with you lol
Another great song from the greatest decade of all music - THE SEVENITIES! And a great reaction. Many Super fans Empress here in Louisiana! RIP Brad Delp.
Hi. This song flows wonderfully and is nice to listen to. The band members are hairy like back in the day but their hair and mustaches are in extensions .. it's the 70s. I like it. Thanks Joy-Jean ☺
So glad you're pulling out these great old songs. I haven't heard this song in a long time. I forgot how great this guy's singing is. He can really take it upstairs.
Oh man... This album is one of best selling albums of all time!. Every song, every track is just as good as this tune. "Hitch a Ride" fave.. Perfect reaction 🎼👍
The band we listened to in our collage days ! You can not go wrong with them ! Great reaction and thanks for giving me back one of my memories ! Gods Blessings !
I used to go grandfathers they called 8 tracks back when he caught me I didn't get in trouble he would sit me on his lap and say now that's music grandson 👍
This band was one of the ones which bridged the gap between the late 70s and early 80s, filling stadiums at their peak, believe it. When this came on the radio, Everybody moved.
Awesome group seen them perform it was awesome you look so awesome today love your reaction to this video so awesome thank you so much for sharing this video with us love it .❤️❤️❤️🌹👍
The epic bass by Tom Scholz and the vocals of Brad Delp and the harmonies of the song make the song so timeless. Yes a timeless classic. Boston , ladies and gentlemen.
Yeah I was at SUBIC Bay in 1973 and every bar in town witch was every business on the Main Street had a Band that could sound just like DEEP PURPLE SMOKE ON THE WATER. The Pilipino musicians were incredibly talented.
Tom Sholz the guitarist, built a studio in the basement of his home. What you are actually hearing is Tom Sholz playing all the instruments. Plus playing over the guitar two times. And Brad Delp singing lead and all the backing vocals. The band wasn't actually brought together until Tom Sholz got a record deal.
@michaelwheeling7422 Tom did not play a single drum track on this record nor did he play a single drum track on the demo that was sent to Epic Records and producer John Boylan which ultimately led to both Brad and Tom being signed by Epic. Jim Masdea played drums on all or nearly all of Toms demos, and Jim plays drums on Rock and Roll Band. The remaining drum tracks were played by Sib. When listening to Foreplay and Long Time the majority of the electric guitar is Barry not Tom. Tom plays the special effects guitar parts but Barry plays electric rhythm on both songs and he plays lead guitar on Long Time. Yes that amazing solo is Barry. Barry is able to play runs with more legato than Tom does, and an Gibson SG does not sound the same as a Les Paul. The band as pictured on the back of the record recorded Let Me Take You Home which was written by Brad at The Record Plant LA, so the band did in fact exist before the record was finished and released. This also means that Tom did not play all the bass tracks on this record nor did he play all of the guitar tracks on this record nor did Tom write all the songs on this record. Brad co wrote Smokin as well. In addition all of Brads vocals were recorded by producer Boylan at Capital Studios Studio C on their Quad Eight console using a Neuman U 87 solid state mic.
Group leader Tom Scholz wrote this song, which is about a guy who wakes up with the blahs, turns on some music, and gets lost in reverie dreaming of his days with Marianne. "It was written about a fantasy event," he told Entertainment Weekly of the song. "But it's one that almost everybody can identify with, of somebody losing somebody that was important to them, and music taking them back there." According to Rolling Stone magazine, Scholz was inspired by the "heart-tugging mood" of the Left Banke's 1967 song "Walk Away Renee." He worked on the song for five years in his basement studio before it was released on this album. Source: Songfacts
JOY JEAN, Спасибо за вашу реакцию, у вас прекрасный музыкальный вкус. Еще, у Вас всегда очень красивые прически, платья, Вы всегда красиво выглядите и всегда дарите положительные эмоции...Спасибо. 🌹 💙💛
The music of my teen years. I don't know why there are so many black people reviewing "white-boy" music these days... BUT I LOVE IT!! Building bridges. That's a great thing! Bless you, sweetheart!
@@DaceMJ you may not be trying but, you're succeeding at being an ass. congratulations. big mo-town fan. wrote a paper in college on the black roots of rock and roll. Happy?
I was living in Boston Massachusetts at the time this was released. All I remember was not being able to escape this album. It seemed every car radio, every 8 track and cassette player, every house party or bar room jukebox was playing this... all at the same time ! OK, I exaggerate a little but not much.
This is a shortened version of the studio recording (and despite appearances to the contrary, it isn't even live -- they are miming). The full studio version is even better, Joy Jean: ua-cam.com/video/zOILAZHf2pE/v-deo.html
Another "feel good" song from Boston on this same album is, "Fore Play/Long Time", and it's very powerful. It's the kind of song you want to hear while driving down the road.
More Than a Feeling - Their 1st hit. - They have some great songs - Detroit Rock City - Smokin' - Foreplay/Longtime - I remember when More Than a Feeling 1st came out and was on the radio. We had a radio on 8 hours at work. There was another song that was also a hit at the time. It was the theme song for TV show "The Rockford Files"
@@mr.knowitall6440 No not high. Did you see my moniker. Senior moment would better describe it and the fact that I had just commented on a Kiss song reaction..Thank You for bring it to my attention.
Hey Empress, your big fan from Boston (the city) is very happy thT you have discovered Boston (the band). The entire debut album from 1976 is worth reacting to. I'd start with "Foreplay/Long Time" (two songs that go together) and "Peace of Mind" the rest of the album's tracks can be reacted to in any order, but I hope you do then all.
This is their best song! If you want to know more about this band Boston and their debut album, watch Behind The Song with Janda! It will give you all the details you could ask for! Too bad the lead singer Brad Delp ended his life in 2007! He was an amazing talent, and will always be remembered!😢❤Goodbye!
Another wonderful reaction. Yeah I think you are right on with your kind of description or analysis of it. I got to see these guys in their Heyday around 1977 when I was in 9th grade. Amazing live show. But the deal is, this album of theirs, self-titled boston, is widely regarded as one of the greatest debut albums in Rock music. You could also throw the first Van Halen album in there, also self-titled, and I know I'm forgetting another one. But you could literally pick any other song off this first album and it's going to be amazing. Check out Smokin', Gonna Hitch A Ride, Foreplay/Long Time, Let Me Take You Home Tonight, Rock and Roll Band, truly any of them. Love your reactions, lady. Rock on.
It's been a while. Have you ever reacted to the acapella group Home Free? If not you really should. I suggest you start with "When a Man Loves a Woman" or "How Great Thou Art". I'm pretty sure you will really enjoy either of them. Love Boston takes me back to my youth. Good reaction.
Empress: Its so fun to see your reaction to a song and remember how I felt so long ago when I heard this song myself for the first time. By the way, the version of this song that you watched and heard was shortened for radio purposes. There is a longer version!
When this album was released in 1976 there was NOTHING that sounded like it! It was a phenomenon. And as others have said, there isn't a bad song on the entire album. I played it to death back in the day. Mostly 8-track in my car. 😁
Boston helped change the way electronics and computers were used to enhance the sounds electric guitars and bass's could make. They helped change the sound of music.
Yes, this album is a collection of excellent songs. It's a legendary Rock album. Just go straight down the list. It all flows together so well. Enjoy! 🤘😎😘💕
They produced this in their basement with no fancy electronic gear.I dare any today to even come close to this.Real tallent!!!
Brad Delp- The best rock singer in history RIP ❤️
Now you know what we been rocking to for 40 years.
A great Boston song off one of the most successful debut albums in rock history.
💯
Boston changed the landscape. They were ahead of their time.
That was my exact thought when I heard them way back in the day. Like a new era in music had just began.

Drummer Sib Hashian was also Duane (The Rock) Johnson's father-in-law. Sib died while playing drums on a rock cruise. Rest in Peace, mighty Sib.
