The wheel choice is just part of this setup working. The big thing is running a KW-style coilover, with 7” springs and no helper, and the ride height set so the lower coilover perch still sits above the tire. That an a significant amount of negative camber (-2.7-3.25) will let you fit a 255 easily. At the time of this video I was running 18x9 +42 all around, with a 3mm spacer up front just for piece of mind, making the effective from offset +39. The car makes too much power though and needs more rear grip, so now I run a 265/35 up front on the same wheel, and a 275/35 out back on an 18x9.5 +58 with a 10mm spacer, so +48. Hope this is helpful.
Alex Bernstein that’s a great feedback! Thanks! I’ve bought a used 135i recently and looking for projects to build a track tool. Your’s very nice. Thumbs up!
my 135i is pretty much identical in terms of engine modifications, tuning and berk race exhaust just minus the suspension/brake mods. Really encourages me to start to focus more on handling now that it's making a solid 400whp now.
I am about to buy what sounds like is an identical version of your car, aside from it having the N55. VRSF stage 2 turbo, all the VRSF piping, aFe magnum force intake, non-catted VRSF downpipe with berk tech. A couple other things, a tune and of course a GFB BOV for all those lovely gurgles and pops. Do you still have yours?
i bought mine yesterday. its a 135i convertible with 28,875 miles and has kw suspensions, 200 cell downpipe (sounds really deep and brutal, pops without mhd burble), wheel spacers. i already ordered a vrsf chargepipe kit. i have to say that this car runs so good and smooth that i currently dont know if i even wanna tune it.. it has tons of torque and power and is really loud. before buying it, i was thinking and doing research on how to tune this car for about a month.. but when i bought it and drove it home, i dont feel that it needs any tuning.

I have an E92 335i 6MT (N54). I love the car. But ive always wanted to build a fun DD/auto-x from a BMW128i. It would be an awesome and fun car. My brother has the BMW N52 engine, in his 2006 BMW 530Xi. It's the I6 3.0L NA motor. Its the newest and the last NA I6 after the E46 M3 engine, BMW made. It has Full VANOS & Valvetronic. Even with the extra weight of an AWD 5-series, the motor is moree than powerful enough and has a ton or torque and once you start revving it out, it turns into a different engine. Smooth power pulling allll the way to redline. Plus the sound is 10x better than the N54/5 engines. There are plenty of forum users getting 300whp out of the N52 with basic exhaust, drop-in filter, and of course the 330i/530i intake manifold & tune to run the Intake Manifold. The 330i is rated at 255hp and the 328i is rated at 225hp. The difference being the 3-stage Intake Manifold which has flaps inside to chagenthe effective length of the intake runners. Plus its also a very reliable engine and has very little modifications done to them bc of the N54/N55 just being more popular for the tuners. But the engine has a lot of potential left. The engine is also very light. The block and head are a Magnesium/Aluminum blend for weight and it has a lightneded internal rotating mass (crank, rods, pistons) to make the motor even more impressive. Incase those didnt know this was the top engine in 2006 for the 3 & 5 series in the USA and there only was a 255hp version N52 in other countries... I know there are 2-3 shops running an NA 128i race car so the ones that know, know lol..

Loved my 135i with DCT and torque N55. But brakes, rear sub frame bushings, differential, have to be addressed. Had the same Apex arc 8 wheels with 235 in front and 265 rears Michelin PS. It was fun blowing past geezers in their C5 and C6 Vettes. Now I enjoy my 335is with MFactory LSD, DCT etc. Engine is mildly tuned to about 340 at the wheel and still easily breaks traction if I am not careful. Not certain I want to go any higher. Might bump to 400 when I replace turbos. 3.5 degrees negative camber up front must kill tire wear. Even in the rear.
Am planning on getting a cobb FMIC, afe CAI, charge pipe, downpipes. Do you think I can get 400hp with an MHD tune? What do you think the 0-60 will be?
