    I LOVE how nowadays there are sooo many 4c girls with super duper long natural hair. I know a lot of us black girls grew up thinking black hair couldn’t grow long and now you have all of these gorgeous black women proving that we were all just fooled and didn’t know how to properly care for our hair! Your hair is so pretty. Thanks for sharing your tips!

      Yes, I never thought my hair would grow long either. Am glad I prioritized the health of my hair more than just following trends.

    #1. Do your own hair - Yes, cause I was doing my own hair for years and it grew the most and best. Once I started going back to salons, my hair started seeing shege. Each time there was an issue. Im going back to doing it myself after next month.

      Yes, I have had really bad experiences with hairdressers and am not going back to them again.

      Ive been thinking about this, doing my own hair and try to avoid heat might change the way my hair grows. I get a lot of growth with my styles but it breaks of alot. So ill try to do my own hair.

    #1 YES. I started to do my own hair because of price and time. I have little kids and spending half a day at a hair salon was not always possible. I would do my hair at night when they are asleep. But the number one reason I started doing my own hair is that I would loose a lot of hair when someone else would do my hair. The last straw was last summer. after senegalese twist done in a hair salon, I was left with one inch of hair in some spot on my scalp and my edges were almost gone. I had to cut 4-5 inches because the length difference was just too much. Now I do my own hair. it's not perfect, I'm still learning but my hair is growing back. I will have to cut it again at some point

      I had the same experience too. In 2022, I went to a hairdresser and the amount of hair I lost 😞, it was unbelievable. I have pictures to prove it. It’s insane! Am glad you do your own hair, you would eventually see the result.

    Just started doing my own hair, I went to a salon and got the worst heat damage. I’m sticking on this hair journey =)

      Same here, I got heat damage too when I went to a hairdresser but I get no heat damage when I do it myself. I’ve had enough with these hairdressers

    I like that you waited till you had long hair (intentional or not) to start your channel. The number one vids searched regarding natural hair is for sure how to grow long hair.

    Tip 1. I have been natural for 20 years, I have always been lazy to do my own hair. I start but eventually stop. This summer I wore my own hair out the longest about 4 month because couldn't be bothered.

    Yes, I totally believe in trimming hair. I have a teenager who loves to comb her hair often. She is learning but sometimes the ends of her hair end up really ratty so... snip snip....

    How do you trim your hair if you are not going to hairdressers? Do you do it yourself? If so can you do a tutorial?

    • @joycelove2024
      @joycelove2024  9 місяців тому +4

      Yes, I trimmed my hair a month before making this video and I should have recorded it. But I would still make a tutorial soon.
