@callmecatalyst Fincher directed 4 episodes, nearly half of the season. Check your facts, my man, you're just a couple of clicks away from Wikipedia.
If it’s flagship title (which Fincher always does in Netflix), it will get past 3 season. The other title will usually cancelled after 2 season. You know because, netflix algorithm and stuff.

The guy who plays Ed Kemper is incredible actor
But unfortunately he probably will not get many roles because now everyone recognizes him as Ed Kemper.
He was also wonderful in "Umbrella Academy."

The guy playing Kemper is brilliant. In the first season some of his dialogue was from an interview and he was spot on, mannerisms, everything. I can't wait for this, waited sooo long.

@@linaalqudah449 yes and no, this season was more about a real life event/case. The second season took a turn but it hasnt lost its importance for building up the serial killer psyche. In the third season I think there will be more suspense with certain killers and building up the bureau

@@evonne9938 The former one was based on real-life events too, right? and tbh who cares? They never said it's a true crime show, it's a crime thriller, even if half of it is fictional, it is also entertaining as hell which is what everybody wants.

As a kid in Atlanta at the time, that shit was chilling. Can't wait to see this season.

@@KBZ3000bc Yeah. There was a series of child murders in and around the city of Atlanta in the late 70s,- early 80s. It got to the point that every night local stations would run a PSA asking if people knew where there kids were. They eventually made an arrest, but there's still a ton of controversy I surrounding it to this day.

The ending of season 1 had me on a Led Zeppelin binge for days. I'll definitely be tuning in. One the of the better Netflix originals.

Another reason I canceled Netflix. Another great quality show that they decided to cancel with nonsense excuses about "cost" YET, they can continue to pay for the lowest D Grade quality series and films that make the Hallmark Channel look like a Scorsese film. LOL
What a series. Has the Fincher stamp all over it. It's like watching a Zodiac marathon. Rich in narrative detail, sharply etched characters + performances, perfectly reproduced era (music included), cinematic in style. It takes it's time (like they used to in the '70s) .... a real gem.
The final scene from season one between Kemper and Holden - the scariest thing on television...like...ever. Looking forward to this season!
The Atlanta Child Murders will be very interesting. As a 20 Veteran of APD I will be glued to these episodes.

@@TheJasonCombee76 possibly. When it's a white serial killer though, people rarely think this. Reading John Douglas's book, the inspiration for the Holden character as I'm sure you know, seems to point out that Wayne very easily could have done it himself. As I believe. You never know however, one day maybe something will come to light. Murders in the African American Community are pretty rampant however, and always have been as I'm sure you know being a police officer so I tend to believe Wayne acted on his own authority, and the way Douglas's profile of the Killer describe Wayne was superb.

@@giappo62tv59 late 70's into 1980 several young black children were killed. Many of them in fact. Bodies found dumped in the Chattahoochee River and also woods. Obvious work of a serial killer or killers . International headlines at the time. Gruesome time.
Ok but what Ed said about manson being small, kinda made me chuckle.
His character as they portrayed him intrigued me the most in the first season, cant wait to see what insights he gave to the detectives :)

spent this weekend binge watching season 2 and now i can't wait for season 3
This show is something else !! I just finished watching saison 2, it felt like I literally was there with them, the tension was real !! The cinematography is a work of art, the soundtracks, the characters were perfect to their tiniest details. Fincher and everyone involved in this series did a great job . Waiting for third season.

David Fincher is a genius.
In fact, it is the first time that Netflix does not cancel a good series, but David Fincher himself, I say it many times. "Doing this series is mentally exhausting and I need to give myself some time." That's why he took out Mank, and gave continuity to Love Death and Robots and even about a year ago it came out that Netflix had renegotiated the terms of a third season and that Fincher is not in favor all convinced. It was even said that the third season would be about the story of John Wayne Gaycy the killer clown and a few days ago a docuseries came out with him. "Coincidence I don't think so"🔥

While they are too many bad shows (like marvel series, or even the boys which I didn't like and came recently) these gems should be appreciated in their own way
There's a pattern to all genuinely good shows on Netflix. Make a first season, release without any advertisement, get a fanbase against all odds, then go absolutely incognito, make sure people forget about it, don't advertise and come up with another season in two and a half years, announce it's cancellation any time after the trailer for the nth season of 13 reasons why comes out because.
Please bring season 3 I am begging Netflix 🙏
