they really raised the budget for season 3, which is fully justified given the fact that the show isn't so expensive but full with talent both in front and behind the camera! It built a rather small but loyal fan-base over the last two seasons and got critical acclaim. But shows like this simply don't attract a large crowd of mainstream viewers - even Succession and Billions didn't...
I think only a couple million watched succession. I guess they were smart enough to keep it on the air because they know in the next 20 years a lot of people watch it. Probably similar to this show
This season is undoubtedly going to be better than the previous two. It is much more dramatic, with possible plots and unexpected turns and the narrative style is faster.
Best show on television. It doesn't look or feel like anything else. It corresponds the most to our shared corruption and decadence.

I’ve spent a good portion in my career working on trading floors and he absolutely nailed that character. Rishi is by far the most realistic portrayal of a trader.

This show needs more eyes on it. Obviously it’s over the top when it comes to a realistic depiction of the world of Finance but the performances in it and anxiety you get from watching are a joy.

@@billi_illid you're right, when mainstream audiences pick up on a show, they run it down with their own mainstream agendas. Look at Euphoria after season 2.

Agreed - I’ve never seen him play a bad role.
Even when he was young and played that mental character in The Sopranos. Flourished in the scenes with Junior and stood out.
@@mattwinstanley2544 he was unbelievably good for a young actor in sopranos, that’s what got him his Lost gig like the show runners saw that episode that night and the next day they all came to each other the next day saying did you see that kid, we need to make a role for him! Which says a lot. He was so good as a once off and such an interesting character, he’s just great in everything. I’ve been rewatching Lost and he gets so many great line but also his reactions are so funny, there’s a reason he was the one that was kept til the end. And LAPIDUS!!!!
@@deeobrien5417 I never knew that - really interesting to hear. I think I remember seeing him first in that film with Nicholas Cage where he plays a shop keeper and Nicholas’s character buys the lottery ticket from an annoyed customer to placate him.
I forget the name of the movie now but was a good film.
I just can't wait to see more of Harper and Eric. They have the weirdest most interesting dynamic that keeps me watching.

*Hey everyone. I want to reply to the replies under my comment but since it’s too many, I’m just gonna add here.
• Firstly, I don’t meant to compare Succession and Industry. Both shows are amazing, but for critics and audience scores, of course Succession wins. And I agree that show is flawless from start to finish. While, Industry has their ups and downs in between for the first two seasons. But it is still a better show than half of the shows on television right now. It’s not denying that. This show is good if you watch it carefully and hear the dialogues one by one. They indeed have some good writers. How they negotiate, discuss, argues, etc. are just some good writing right there.
Secondly, what I meant by saying “Industry should get the same hype as Succession”, that triggers a lot of people. I never meant to be that way.
I never meant to say that Industry could defeat Succession in any way. Yes “it’s not in the same league”, I never meant Industry to be in that league anyway. I just meant that this show needs to be viral as in “getting hype”, like how Succession is. For the first two seasons of Succession, a lot of people are unaware about the show, and then in the pandemic, they went super viral. This is what I want to meant. Making Industry viral, because so many doesn’t know this show exists- not even about the ones that didn’t watch it, it’s just so many didn’t know it exists. And it’s a good show, it should get the vitality it deserves because it is good.
Is it good? If it’s even close to Succession I’ll watch but thought the reviews weren’t very good

I hope we see Harper’s brother again. I think about Harper going to see him in Germany and the aftermath all the time. In a show full of incredible, lived in performances, him spiraling in his apartment was just electric

This show is miles better than Succession because the characters aren’t such caricatures. But the fact it’s set in London makes it more niche for a US audience. Love this show.

Problem is that the show not got so much attention by the mass audience because it delves you into the world of finance that how things work at trading desk and to watch this show it needs intellect to watch and to understand each dialogue spoken by them sometimes you can't connect with that. And for those its made would agree its a absolute gem 😊
Suits was able to appeal to a wider audience while it was about law. house of lies was able to do it with consulting. Billions and succession dealt with M&A. The reason for the industry not having a wider appeal because it is to complex is not an explanation in my opinion…
This series would work even without a big budget it is so good

At the end of Season 2, Eric and Harper got Adler to agree to the deal they made to stay in London, which involved cutting Rishi and DVD out. But Eric fired Harper, leaving Rishi in. But DVD was out either way. Not sure about Gus.
Question is, and one which I’m looking forward to, WHY did Eric do this? This wasn’t a problem for three years so why did Eric fire her for this now?

Do it. Season 1 might seem slow but it shows you their character personalities rhat pay off big in season that jumps up to peak HBO
It’s OK. It’s pretty enjoyable. It won’t go down as a classic, but I’d say it’s worth watching.
