Rest in peace Asunta. I wish I could give you a hug. This smart and talented baby girl didn’t have a chance in this evil world. Her biological parents didn’t want her and her adoptive parents didn’t either. This is completely sad and sickening.
We don’t know that. Have a coworker from China they would take your child if you had more than one. You could avoid it if you lived way out in the country side (tribal areas in China). It start they would over fine you than they would just take them as you give birth. He told me he had a sister. It less now they got raid of that policy to prepare for war now. Also they ended up with some many boys that it hard to get married so many go to other areas. China and Japan not so crazy about each other so take this with a gain of salt, rumor says China men would kidnap Japan women and they are warned to keep their guard up.
They used that poor baby as a trophy and when they got tired of her, they got rid of her. My gut feeling tells me the mom was more involved in her death and father went a long with it.
I agree, I wonder if Mom was jealous, that could be a motive. It seems like Rosalie needed attention/ spotlight, I think they adopted from China to stand out even more in their community, BS , it wasn't more expensive to adopt a Spanish child! They wanted it to be obvious they adopted so they would look " charitable".
I used to work in adoptions at a social service agency. I was so surprised how many adoptee parents chose to get rid of the kids around puberty. So sad.
Wow 😢 I never knew or thought about this. Everyone loves babies and kids but they forget they have to grow up. 💔 teen years (I’ve heard , and from my own) are the hardest but can be a highlight of your life
Thank you for giving Asunta a voice. Her mother’s severe mental illness and her admission that she was done being a parent coupled with the fact that she was the last one to see Asunta alive, makes me lean towards her mother ending Asunta’s young life!
They were not her step parents. They were her parents. Adoption legally makes that child yours in every way. In my opinion, this makes this murder even worse 😢. A short and sad life is true. RIP poor baby 😢.
@@annieelise Commenting again I know, like I said before here in Spain people still talks about it, but to answer your question, in my opinion, Rosario killed Asunta in the Teo house to be able to be “free” to be with Manuel. Let’s remember she was mentally unstable and Asunta was the only thing linking her to Alfonso. And I think him (Alfonso), was silent out of twisted love to force Rosario to be with him. About giving drugs to Asunta the months prior to the death. The police investigation proved that Asunta was sleepy always after spending the night at her mom’s home so I think Rosario maybe gave her the drugs so the child would fall asleep and she could do whatever she pleased, go with the lover or something… I don’t think the dad is innocent, especially after listening to the conversations the police recorded when they were in the holding cells… Both are twisted and/or mentally ill, they even took a picture of the body of Asunta with their cellphones when she was in the open coffin with the flowers at the funeral home before Rosario was arrested… No I’m not making it up. And many other disturbing details.
I think Rosario was spoiled and like a spoiled child she wanted the kid like a child wants a puppy, then didn't want the work that went with it anymore. The girl was getting older, the husband had a fetish for Asian women. Poor little girl never had a chance.
Rest in power Asunta. You were going to do such great things 😞. A beautiful light snuffed out by two monsters who should have never been near children. 💔
my theory is that the mother adopted her to get approval from her family and once they died she lost interest in her, the husband agreed to do anything to keep the family unit together even if that meant conspiring to drug his own daughter. Asunta has my deepest condolences for the tragedy she was forced into.
This case is really so sad. This girl did not deserve to be treated this way by these people who were supposed to be her parents. They were supposed to be her family and they should not have done this to her. I don't understand people.
So the teachers there aren't mandated reporters? Because if a child told me their parents were giving them a strange white powder and the child was acting a lot more tired than usual, I'd be reporting that.
I think Rosario wanted to move completely on from her marriage and saw Asunta as the last connection to her husband. (And she was also tired of being a mom.) I think her husband went along with her story because he was still in love with her. Whatever the case, Asunta’s life was so short and sad. Given up for simply being a girl and then murdered by the people who raised her. And btw I don’t believe that story about the guy strangling Asunta in the middle of the night. I’m sure it happened but it was either the husband or someone the mom knew.
I haven't finished watching the video, and I agree. It was the mom, and dad would do anything for his ex. He should have grown some balls and finished raising Asunta on his own. The mom didn't card for anyone, but herself.
@brittanybradford5543 I just read from another comment that Asunta was the beneficiary of the Rosario parents' will (her grandparents). It wouldn't surprise me if Rosario also killed her parents.
I felt so sorry for her. Just leaning piano on it's own is hard enough, especially if they're doing grades, it's a lot of practice to get good. My 12 year plays (because he wants to) but it's the only extra club thing he does. His younger bro does guitar and cubs but he's a ball of hyper!
I think it was the mother and because the father was still so dependent on Rosario or still wanted Rosario he was willing to do anything for her. Although now I am getting towards the end where it states Alfonso obtained a bunch of drugs which it’s possible he was getting them for Rosario. His alleged fetish for Asian women also raises another concern. But Rosario was the one with Asunta when she died.
This is why we need to stop judging people that choose to not have kids. Not everyone is up for the task... don't just do it because it's what "you're supposed to"
I am so glad when I got married to my now ex husband both of our parents never pressured us to have kids if we had some it was ok if we didn't we didn't and I appreciate them for that
Horrible. I have to think that the mom set up the creepy guy coming into Asunta's room? That was so weird & made zero sense! Who catches someone strangling your child in their BEDROOM, at night....and then brushes it off? Like , wth?! I feel like this couple felt like they were super wealthy & "important" so they could do whatever they'd like & nobody would question it? So gross. RIP Asunta. ❣️
I was adopted. There is always an unspoken fear that your parents may get tired of you and as there is no real blood ties, the parent child connection is tenuous and easily lost compared to biological children.
To be honest this can happen even with bio children, so please don’t make it hard on yourself 🙏🏾. The difference between adopted and bio children is that adopted children are really wanted, while many bio children aren’t even planned.
I was adopted. Never felt that. Legally as i was informed by my mother i am part of the family. But when i did start the search for my birth parents my adopted mother did show reservation that it would change things. But i made it clear that it made no difference.
I’m also adopted. Never once in my life did I fear that my parents would get tired of me. I was and am their child…no different than if they were my biological parents.
The sad truth is you never really know someone. Some people are adapt at hiding their true identity and thus can feign love and care to some extent. Some monsters do love but they can’t control themselves. That poor girl I hope she’s at peace and I hope she had some semblance of a life being loved before this happened. It does seem her grandparents adored her so there is that. It seems some people are too special for this world to keep for long.
I feel so many emotions about this and pray that she was heavily sedated in her final moments and that it was the least traumatic as possible. I also want to believe that she did get to experience the feeling of being loved and wanted. Her poems were so beyond her years and to me hold far deeper symbolism and truths than what initially "meets the eye" and I'm sure there are more and they hold the true world she lived her short time in 💔 makes me so sick that Rosario was overwhelmed with the chaotic schedule and lifestyle THAT SHE FORCED Ausunta to fking have. Doesn't sound like she experienced much of any part of being a kid. Most of Annie's cases are heartbreaking and ones Involving helpless innocent children are so difficult to finish. This story will leave me feeling extremely heavy the rest of the day. May she shine as brightly throughout the cosmos for all of eternity ❤
I'm adopted, my dad left and my mom loved her biological son much more than me, we fought all the time, she didn't kill me, she just kicked me out really young. I obviously didn't have the worst of the situations that can happen, but I understand what its like to not feel loved by the people who "chose" you. 🙄
Sad to hear that, what's so wrong with these people giving up on their chosen children, i wouldn't do it with my pet. Please know there is nothing wrong with you at all. It is just your bad luck to have been adopted by these mean people. Enjoy life and have hope, you will definetley have a much greater love in your life.
Hei Victoria! I am so sorry for what you went through, and you say that "I obviously didnt have the worst of the situations"but I will call what your mother did to you child abuse, not knowing love when you are a child can damage a soul as severely as sexual or other child abuse.I know as I am a survivor of all kinds of child abuse,(sorry for "talking"about me)so please do not downplay your trauma. And it's not your fault, its your mother, she is a horrible person.I hope you find love.Take care of your self.Hugs.Diana from Norway.😊
Thank you for covering this case! I'm from the same city as Asunta was, Santiago. The main reason for this is speculative. But Rosario's parents left the inheritance money to Asunta instead of Rosario. Her parents had died a few years before Asunta and incinerated afterwards. So there was not chance to examine the bodies after the murder of Asunta to prove the inheritance money motive. But i strongly believe this was the reason. Thank you for your work and spreading awareness on this story
Good point, I think that would also be the motive. That would also explain why they couldn't have just sent her off to boarding school like they previously wanted to, if they were tired of raising her.
11:35 My cousin (who is much younger than I am) has wealthy parents and his schedule is just like this all the time. It's sports, languages, instruments, clubs, all of that, constantly. I don't get it. I'd rather my kids have 1 or 2 activities they really love and work hard at, then get to be children the rest of the time, than run them ragged trying to make them "exceptional." I don't know this case, but I already feel bad for that little girl.
While my adoptive family wasn't overly wealthy (we were decently comfortable), my childhood was very much like Asunta's as well. I was a year-round competitive swimmer, as I was not allowed to be, in my adoptive mother's words, 'one of those kids who came home from school and just did homework.' Why was she so over the top against me being, what I would consider, a normal kid, I'm not sure... especially because her childhood was very normal like that!? So starting at aged 3 until 11, I had dance class 6 days a week, 5 hours a day. Then at aged 11, I started competitively swimming year-round. I left for practice at 3:57 am, swam until 7am, and rushed to school that started at 7:47am. I was let out at 2:37pm, left for afternoon practice at 4pm, and I finally arrived home for the night around 8pm. I did that 6 days a week, but most of the time it was 7 days a week because I'd have meets. Once a year, the team gave us 1 week off... Which my mother decided would best be spent, you guessed it, swimming. Every vacation we took, my mom made sure a pool was available for her to force me to do my own practices in. It really screwed me up as I never learned to relax/recover, to listen to my body, and to take time for what's important to me, nor did I even develop who I was/what I wanted until I was in my mid to late twenties. I also learned to become an absolute perfectionist to the point of my own detriment, which eventually led me to learn how to become the perfect functional "attic" (I don't want my comment auto-deleted), with the ability to hide it from everyone. I never even lost a job over it, just my own dignity. I even chose to remain childless because I didn't want her anywhere near another child! I basically thought the only way I'd be worthy of my mom's love was if I swam well enough for her... Which, surprise, nothing was ever good enough. Not even when I got a scholarship to swim at a division one college. Not even when I finished my second college degree. It makes me sad - especially because I never did reach her level of worthiness even to this day. I'm glad I finally stopped giving every moment of my life to keep her happy as I learned that nothing makes her happy, nothing meets her impossible standards. However, I'm only twelve and a half minutes in, and I already feel like this kid has way too much going on. But, I'm probably just projecting how I feel 🤷♀️ Crazy.
No youre not!! Thats insane!! Why do parents live vicariously through their child and put such insane goals onto them!!.??thats emotional abuse and you have every right to feel as you do about it!! I wish you peace and love for the future!! Be you! You cant be anybody else!! I hope youre happier and healthier!! Hugs❤@@emo_penguin420
As an adoptive child I never imagine parents could do that to an adoptive child since adoption is difficult. Anyway when things get rough you should ask for help... this is so sad 😢
I’m getting ready for my day & literally just said to myself “I’m bored, I hope Annie dropped something new,” then I refreshed my page and this popped up 🥺🥹🥹🫶🏽💓 love you Annie, thank you!!!!
Me too lol but I figured she would come through for us today since she didn't post a video yesterday lol thanks Annie Elise for coming through for us ❤❤❤
Hello everyone 😊 Im a big fan from Sweden Gothenburg 🇸🇪🤗 . Unfortunately I can't come to USA to see Annie on her tour . But I will watch every episode coming up, looking forward to new great episodes . Greatings from Sweden Gothenburg 🤗🇸🇪
I agree I have a long commute to work so I look forward to listening to her videos. I love that she brings us stories that don’t always have the most coverage.❤
As I understood it, Rosario wanted to get rid of Asunta because she wanted to get away from her husband (she had a lover). Her husband wanted Rosario back with him and used Asunta to "force" Rosario to stay in constant contact with him, something that she hated, whe wanted to cut all contact with him. On his part, Alfonso did basically everything Rosario asked him to do, because he was completely dependent from her. Another reason was the money and fame of Rosarios parents. Her parents had made a last will that benefitted Asunto and not Rosario and this last will was was changed shortly before their deaths, it was suspected that they were murdered by Rosario and Alfonso, but never prooved.
Asuntas poetry sent chills down my spine. She would have been a force, that's for sure. ❤ I hope she is resting in peace. Thank you for sharing Asuntas' story ❤
I think Alfonso just wanted to make Rosario happy and would have done and did do anything to make her love him. I think Rosario was absolutely the mastermind and manipulator and she wanted her affair to be something way more than it was and she wanted to eliminate EVERYTHING that stood in her way. That poor girl was just collateral damage and was a prop for that sick selfish woman from day one!
I truly believe that the Mother agreed to leave her side piece if the Father agreed to help her permanently get rid of poor Asunta. Why doesn't really matter in the end because a beautiful life was snuffed out.
As an adoptee from china…this is so heartbreaking. I know how much work my mom did to get me and I couldn’t imagine this especially with the parallels to my own story.. :(
Something about both Rosario and Alphonso's behaviour is so deeply unsettling, I can't put a finger on it. And I mean that apart from the obvious fact they were horrible at being either parents and/or life partners. They seemed to have floated through a life insulated not just by creature comforts, but (even more crucially) with incredibly infantile levels of emotional intelligence. They were a pair of spoilt rotten unhappy kids, trapped and out-of-place inside a pair of middle-aged, yet equally unhappy adult bodies. Kids don't make good parents, and contrary to popular belief, the world is filled with 40-year old toddlers screaming and fussing their way through life, thinking they can outgrow their inner child by bringing an actual child into their world, as if parenting were some sort of an 'experience' that HAS to be had. Like it was a rite of passage.
Sending you all my best regards from Greece.I am so sorry for this beautiful innocent kid like so many other vulnerable kids and adults. I am bilingual sorry for any mistakes
Ativan is such a powerful benzo. I actually take it for seizures (along with lamotrigine) which is common, but it's the only benzo prescribed for that purpose. I only take ONE daily (when needed, not even every day). I can't imagine how poor Asunta felt taking so much.
@@jenniferlever5843 I'm sorry to hear about your seizures. I was also recently diagnosed, so I haven't tried anything else. It took a little while to notice any results on the combination I'm on. I think because lamotrigine has to be increased slowly, there's a possibility of an allergic reaction otherwise, so at first I thought it wasn't working. I have simple partial seizures, so my only indication of seizure activity is a strange smell or nausea (with sweating and flushing, only lasting a few minutes). Losing time was also a... strong indication. So it was harder for me to really know how well it was working, unless I had one of those symptoms. But at this point, I haven't had the strange smell in weeks. It's so nice. You should ask your doctor about alternative medications, because this combination has really helped me.

Parents who adopt & get “buyers remorse) typically feel overwhelmed w/n a short period of time, maybe w/n months or a handful of years. It is unusual for 2 parents to raise a child from infancy thru early teens with such dedication for so long, only to disengage so dramatically from their adoptive bond. They could have afforded to send her to a boarding school or even any of their close relatives. Very unusual behavior.
Right?! They were overbearing but seemingly very devoted. I think the mother was extremely mentally ill and her addiction obviously didn't help. Obviously there was plenty wrong with the father too, if he fetishized Asian women while having adopted an Asian daughter even if he never physically abused her....that is just sick and twisted. This case is so bizarre.
A person from this town commented and said that it is believed locally that the mothers parents left their money to asunta and not the mother and that perhaps that was part of the motive for killing her.
They had enough money that they could have just paid someone else to raise her or sent her to boarding school. Why did they have to kill her? Who was the man in her room? I don’t understand it at all.
I can't imagine being shoved into all this crap as a child, and to be doing these things just because your mom wants to be recognized. She doesn't sound like she even had fun during her short time on earth. I wish she could have had a better family and unconditional love. She deserved so much more.
Thank You Annie...the Netflix Asunta Case was acted out so bad it was irritating to watch. You covered the case articulately and down to earth as always. ~Whidbey Island, WA
Now adays...A PARENT WHO TELLS their child what to do is refered to as "forcing"......It comes off as if you're stating that you've never parented your child. A parent is OBLIGATED and made to TELL their child what to do.
@@linamarie84 I meant as she was grown up I see the way I worded it was wrong but I meant when she was a legal adult although I gave her my thoughts on things I wasn’t a control freak but I have raised my kid and watch the grand kiddos after school I’m 54 I’m fully aware you have to give children guidance and rules but thank you for the advice
@@BillieYoung-ge5dxnothing wrong with blue collar workers some the best people I know are blue collar workers. Also I’ve worked for 25yrs as a registered nurse in a high risk mental health unit that caters for unwell patients from age 10 to 28yrs old and have seen some of the negative effects of parents being too strict and controlling on teens. From my experience kids who have controlling parents usually do not go to their parents when they are in major trouble (e.g teen pregnancy and drug use etc). Just recently we had a young girl admitted who had hid her pregnancy from her parents out of absolute fear about how they would react. Ending with the young girl extremely distressed.
@@linamarie84depends on the age of the kid and often the nature of the child. Also what do you mean when you say that parents are made to tell their child what to do.. ?? Who is making the parents tell the child what to do
Wow, Annie, you never disappoint . I don't know why there isn't more extensive testing for people who want to adopt or become parents. There are so many unstable people out there that xan put on a good show and then do horrible and disgusting things to poor defenseless children. So sad. Please come to Florida. I'd love to meet you. ❤
Even if they had such testing (and they do) as you said yourself, some people can act in one way for appearances and actually be another way behind closed doors.
Hi Annie Elise , I wish the days could be better than they are, especially when a crime hits so close to town. Manassas Virginia missing mother Mamta hasn't been seen for 20 days!😢 Her husband was the last person to see her.😢
@@thefashionbeautylounge4720 I'm so happy you saw my comment. I didn't think anybody would actually want to watch or hear about this case, but it's becoming worldwide at this point. I've been following it for almost a month from the time it was posted in the community post in "Manassas talk" . I know you say you're from Sterling, but you probably could join the group. If you want to join there's a lot of information on there.
Thank you for covering this Annie, I had started to watch the Netflix documentary but I have ADHD which makes it very difficult for me to focus on actually watching it at the same time as reading the subtitles!
At my son's funeral I didn't cry and probably seemed unaffected. In reality I was still in shock, had drugged myself with prescription meds to the point I just felt numb, and avoided talking to anyone because I didn't want to risk having a complete breakdown in front of people.
The good thing now is that the more we understand about grief the more people understand that your reaction is quite common..best wishes from Australia 🙃
I've just started watching this, but OMG, the title alone! The world of fostering and adoption is so scary and seems very corrupt. How many stories like this have we heard over the years? It looks unregulated, and so many children suffer unimaginable trauma, sometimes even worse. I feel so sad.
I live in the US, in Georgia, and this wealthy couple(2 men) adopted 2 boys, just to horribly abuse them (SA) for years, making CP of the acts to distribute in a Ped-ring, and even renting them out to other men, before being discovered. It was so sad!
We adopted internationally through a US agency. I don't know the protocols domestically now but we had to do background checks and have a lengthy home study done which included 5 or 6 home visits. This was almost 3 decades ago.
Loved your little mama bear moment when speaking about what you would do if you saw a intruder in your childs room. After all the fierces lion in the pack is the moma lion. Remind me to never get on your bad side Annie
You have the best content! Never commented on anything, but you do a phenomenal job! All of these cases are so crazy, and the way you tell them, makes it so interesting. Have a great day!
@annieelise Thank You Annie!! Is there any updates on the Sebastian Roger's case in TN? His story was everywhere then it just stopped! I haven't heard anything recently.
It is called Rejection Of Adoption, and it can happen at any time. I know, because it happened to me and like Asunta, my surviving parent attempted to kill me in different ways. He tried drowning, which failed, and overdosing me on medication and finally and most insidiously; he chose medical neglect, refusing medical treatment on numerous occasions when I should have been hospitalized with pneumonia. The cruelest thing he did was force me to "weed the garden" in the exact spot a wasp nest was. I refused, I got beat and forced to do it anyways. He did this knowing I have a severe allergy to insect venom and never bothered to get me an epipen. So I was swarmed and stung. He refused to call an ambulance or take me to the hospital even though my throat was swelling shut and tongue had swelled so much my airway was blocked. I managed to get a neighbour’s attention and they got medical attention. He stood and watched, while they screamed at him. He did this THREE TIMES. Mum died "suddenly" when I was 9 and he told me that he only agreed to adopt me because she was the one that wanted me. He never loved me. He didn’t even like me and would lie and say I wasn’t his daughter to my classmates parents. I didn’t understand. I remember him telling me "Your mum was the one that wanted you, I never did. I just got stuck with someone else’s problem." I replied "But mummy died. She’s dead." He just said " Yeah, she is dead." He was hugging my "sister" the whole time he was saying this. She, of course being his biological daughter." Understand that RoA will make parents kill their children. A hatred grows in them, but it was always present, just below the surface. My mum adored me. I was a living, breathing miracle. And I was. Born at 22 weeks and weighing 950 grams, I was the smallest baby in the country, if not world to have open heart surgery at that time. Mortality rate was 100% and today it has only dropped to 98%. And she loved me the moment she saw me. I could not have been loved more. My favourite memory of her, but also the saddest one is her coming home after a night out and her picking me up in her arms and sobbing over and over "I love you, I love you, I love you." She had given a son up for adoption, so maybe that’s who she imagined she was holding, but she didn’t live long enough for me to ask. I would hold tightly to her, as she literally soaked my hair in tears, holding me in a death grip, like if she let me go, I would disappear. I was loved…for a time, and I don’t know what her final thoughts were as she died, but I imagine they were of me…and what would happen if she wasn’t there to protect me from my father. That is how adopted children end up being murdered by their parents. Asunta breaks my heart because she never asked for this life. She did nothing wrong. The only thing I can assure you of is this, an Ativan overdose is not painful, or frightening; so long as she did not suffer a paradoxical reaction, but from the coroner’s findings, she did not. She went to sleep, she did not know she was not going to wake up in this world. She got lucky and I say that with all the bitterness in my heart and hope nobody decides this is a way to…don’t. Wipe the thought from your mind because the alternative is remaining conscious the whole time, knowing what is happening but being unable to help yourself. Do not do this. Please. I’m so sorry, Asunta. You deserved the chance to grow up, get married and get old. You did nothing wrong. You did nothing wrong. Your end would have been crueler and slower in China, but that doesn’t make any of this okay. I hope when you return again that you will be loved, adored and cherished. If you chose to never return, I would understand. You will never be gone so long as someone is alive to say your name, I hope that your name will never be lost to time.
I wonder if Rosario’s parents pressured her to have a child, and since she always did what they told her to, she adopted Asunta. But after her parent’s death she felt free from their influence for the first time in her life and realized she didn’t want Asunta. So sad
If im honest..sounds likel a horrific childhood, i was all about fishing, catching tadpoles, riding bikes , parks and friends .. that was my perfect childhood , school was school we had to do good obviously no child should be expected to be an adult, thats just sad
Worked in the school system a couple years. You're absolutely supposed to report anything hazardous or that raises suspicion, in fact most schools have a designated person that you bring your information to and then they make an educated case and document it.
Thank you for sharing Asunta’s life in front of the curtain and behind the curtain with us. Rich or not the second parents cross the line into child abuse/& death is the second that their child’s story should be told to the world. It’s not an easy story to share especially when you’re a loving parent but Asunta has Annie speaking out for her today. Rest Asunta 😔though your life was short it sounds like the “far too busy” was forced on you. Rest in Love Asunta ❤ 41:23
Thanks for the post! Been here for over a year now and watching you elevate your content makes me so excited for you! God bless! Also these people are sick why adopt and kill your child!
her daughter was a bother. rosaria porto was a monster, worlds worst mother and portrayed herself as a victim. she was mentally ill and used it as a excuse to get sympaty. what a creep
Thanks for covering this one Annie!! I just could not do the Netflix movie with the subtitles as I like to listen in backround while doing other things!!
I watched a movie about this on Netflix. The movie made it look as if Alphonso mentally abused Rosario because of her affair and Rosario was stressed out because of this abuse. I still don't know what to think. But according to the timeline it looks like the mother did it and the father helped cover it up.
FIRST STRANGE THING TO ME… these people had SO MUCH MONEY but they couldn’t afford to adopt from their own country????? RED FLAG 🚩 supposedly it was difficult to adopt from Spain but yet THEY ARE SO WELL KNOWN AND HAD CONNECTIONS… so why couldn’t they cut through the red tape to adopt in FROM home of Spain??? RED FLAG 🚩
That comment about hoping she wasn't SA'd or killed. My first thought was Summer Wells father when he said he hopes she's not being kept locked up somewhere..
I have a feeling that the husband was aware of what was going on with drugging Asunta due to how much pills he was accumulating. Perhaps even participated in some of the drugging himself. Seems like Rosario was used to bringing in the money, and didn't pay much attention to the family. When the divorce happened, Rosario likely saw her daughter as more and more of burden. I have a suspicion that there was never a man who broke in and was caught trying to choke Asunta. If that really did happen, I think it was set up by Rosario to point the blame of Asuntas odd behavior onto someone else. But if that's the case, it doesn't make much sense to lie about reporting the incident to police and not try to spread the word. Idk. I have questions about that. I also wonder if Asunta ever wrote poetry about her father, whether good or bad. Additionally, I think Rosario didn't care how Asunta would feel about going to private school, though Rosario had such a negative experience when she was younger. Perhaps even wanted Asunta to go through what Rosario went through. All she cared about was their status of "a perfect family". She was using her daughter as a tool up until ultimately killing her. This lady needed some serious therapy long long ago. My God! Very troubling case. I feel awful for what Asunta had to endure in her short life. May she rest in peace.
Poor child, doomed before birth for her sex, stuck trying to treat her primary trauma of abandonment while owned by people who cared more for the facade than the child.. tragic fate of many children "saved" by adoption.. have to earn approval while being treated like clay for parent to mould as desired and no real bond to anyone else who would care if she tried to find help. Glad she got a tiny voice in those poems re behind the act.. always interesting that lawyers seem to be above the law wrt drug abuse while acting as if hey are the law
I am from Spain and could have never imagined hearing a Spanish case on your channel Annie, crazy! This poor girl… I am convinced it was both parents, they didn’t want her anymore 😪
This is so so heartbreaking. I’m so curious why this happened. If they killed her why did they do it instead of just sending her to go to school somewhere out of the country.
Asunta was so young but you can tell by her poetry how mature, smart and beautiful she was.
@@jenniferwilliams9548 very good point !
@@jenniferwilliams9548 that's a really good point because clearly the mom was pretty self-absorbed
Agreed- I stopped in my tracks when it was read. ❤ a very strong soul - I bet Rosario was envious of her.

And parents should get their adopted child right away, not two years later in some cases....

That is heartbreaking. Imagine feeling secure in having a family that accepts you and then that love expires once you’re not a child anymore. 😢
Thank you for giving Asunta a voice. Her mother’s severe mental illness and her admission that she was done being a parent coupled with the fact that she was the last one to see Asunta alive, makes me lean towards her mother ending Asunta’s young life!
Abandoned by birth parents, murdered by stepparents. Very short and sad life 😭 Asunta, RIP.
They were not her step parents. They were her parents. Adoption legally makes that child yours in every way. In my opinion, this makes this murder even worse 😢. A short and sad life is true. RIP poor baby 😢.
Thank you for covering this case Annie. This one was a shocker in my country, Spain. I think we will never know the truth.
It’s so twisted and sad. 💔
@@annieelise it is. Thanks again for raising awareness. Love your channel. ❤
So many twists and secrets in this case… 😢 Horrible.
Here in Spain people still talks about it…
@@annieelise Commenting again I know, like I said before here in Spain people still talks about it, but to answer your question, in my opinion, Rosario killed Asunta in the Teo house to be able to be “free” to be with Manuel. Let’s remember she was mentally unstable and Asunta was the only thing linking her to Alfonso. And I think him (Alfonso), was silent out of twisted love to force Rosario to be with him.
About giving drugs to Asunta the months prior to the death. The police investigation proved that Asunta was sleepy always after spending the night at her mom’s home so I think Rosario maybe gave her the drugs so the child would fall asleep and she could do whatever she pleased, go with the lover or something…
I don’t think the dad is innocent, especially after listening to the conversations the police recorded when they were in the holding cells…
Both are twisted and/or mentally ill, they even took a picture of the body of Asunta with their cellphones when she was in the open coffin with the flowers at the funeral home before Rosario was arrested… No I’m not making it up. And many other disturbing details.
This case is so heartbreaking this little girl does not have to suffer anymore she is in the arms of Jesus now
Why would someone adopt a child just to murder them? I would never understand this.
Me either. It’s sick
😢
😮😮😮😢😢😢
The more I watch true crime the more I’m finding it’s actually quite common. Some people are so disgusting 😿
So beautifully put 💔
my theory is that the mother adopted her to get approval from her family and once they died she lost interest in her, the husband agreed to do anything to keep the family unit together even if that meant conspiring to drug his own daughter. Asunta has my deepest condolences for the tragedy she was forced into.
This case is really so sad. This girl did not deserve to be treated this way by these people who were supposed to be her parents. They were supposed to be her family and they should not have done this to her. I don't understand people.
this seems the most plausible to me as well. Rosario was always seemingly seeking validation from her parents.
This is what I was thinking.
So do you think the Asian child p*rn images were planted on his computer by his ex?
Yesss!
Asunta’s poems really got me. RIP beautiful girl.
He wasn’t in love with her, he was in love with her money.
100% agree @brittanybradford5543
I haven't finished watching the video, and I agree. It was the mom, and dad would do anything for his ex.
He should have grown some balls and finished raising Asunta on his own. The mom didn't card for anyone, but herself.
💯 It was definitely the mom or the Dad. Nor, did I believe that some stranger broke in and tried to kill her.
@brittanybradford5543 I just read from another comment that Asunta was the beneficiary of the Rosario parents' will (her grandparents). It wouldn't surprise me if Rosario also killed her parents.
They made it hard on themselves. Hearing her Saturday schedule exhausted me. RIP little angel
Yeah, and why put so much time and effort into a child, just to abuse and resent them?
Right? They made it way harder than they needed to

It’s awful to think of what Asunta went through she looks so sad in some photos
I think her father was doing "something" to her
I think it was the mother and because the father was still so dependent on Rosario or still wanted Rosario he was willing to do anything for her.
Not everyone is up for the task... don't just do it because it's what "you're supposed to"
I agree with you 100%!!!
I am so glad when I got married to my now ex husband both of our parents never pressured us to have kids if we had some it was ok if we didn't we didn't and I appreciate them for that
I praise people who choose to not have children. It's their choice and it doesn't hurt to have less people in this messy world.
Agree 💯 @ original comment
Not everyone who doesn't want to be a mother or Father would be a bad mother or father
So gross.
RIP Asunta. ❣️
This poor child knew she was going to be killed. RIP Asunta and fly high with the angels ❤❤❤
@@HAIRHOLIC_1 not if they tried everything to have bio children and adoption was the last resort.
@@TarquinTheTall still, they chose you!! You specifically, they wanted you!! While bio children is like a lottery you get what you get 🤣
What a heartbreaking story. This beautiful young girl treated like that and then murdered by these horrible people. So sad
Amen 🙏🙌🙏
Nowadays, that's true. Wasn't like that for me back in the '70's and '80's.
My best friend was the first of 7 kids but all were biological except her. They kicked her out young also. Her whole life she has searched for love.😢

I feel you adopted and my “mom” told me she tried to give me back and didn’t want me and was abusive I left at 18
Can you imagine being a young girl knowing your parents were trying to kill you. How horrific! Rip baby girl Asunta❤
My sister was adopted from China, a few years before, Asunta. I’ve never heard of this case, but it breaks my heart 😔
That makes sense. And perhaps the motive for adopting Asunta was because of pressure from Rosario’s parents to provide a grandchild.
Good point, I think that would also be the motive.
That would also explain why they couldn't have just sent her off to boarding school like they previously wanted to, if they were tired of raising her.
Wow, that makes sense. Rosario was a horrible person. May Asunata rest in peace.
This actually makes sense. But guess we will never know, unfortunately.
Thank you for this insight. This case has always been so weird. Like the suggestive photos of her obviously drugged. What was with that?
I know some people like that as well. I'm exhausted for those kids.
No youre not!! Thats insane!! Why do parents live vicariously through their child and put such insane goals onto them!!.??thats emotional abuse and you have every right to feel as you do about it!!
How do you know about this? Why did Annie not find it?

I think Alfonso just wanted to make Rosario happy and would have done and did do anything to make her love him. I think Rosario was absolutely the mastermind and manipulator and she wanted her affair to be something way more than it was and she wanted to eliminate EVERYTHING that stood in her way. The cross between acting and actual footage got a little much, but overall pretty good.

Philly?? @@mariahezeako8603
@@twatts1523 OMG, that's so sick! I can't imagine the amount of trauma kids have to deal with nowadays! 🥲🥲
We adopted internationally through a US agency. I don't know the protocols domestically now but we had to do background checks and have a lengthy home study done which included 5 or 6 home visits. This was almost 3 decades ago.
East Coast Annie!! Specifically Philly. We WILL turn out! 🤞💕
Yess i live in Philly n love her
Me too❤
NC also! We love you here too Annie!!
Loved your little mama bear moment when speaking about what you would do if you saw a intruder in your childs room. After all the fierces lion in the pack is the moma lion. Remind me to never get on your bad side Annie
I can't believe how much have you grown! Crazy, girl! So happy for u! ❣️
You have the best content! Never commented on anything, but you do a phenomenal job! All of these cases are so crazy, and the way you tell them, makes it so interesting. Have a great day!
Wow, Annie. The work you put into this video is unmatched. Thank you for reading all the emails.
I've been waiting all morning 🌄!! Here it is❤😊 now I can clean my house 🏠!! Hope all the besties have a great day!!
Happy cleaning!!!
@annieelise Thank You Annie!! Is there any updates on the Sebastian Roger's case in TN? His story was everywhere then it just stopped! I haven't heard anything recently.
At home sick 😷 😪 and Annie just made my morning with a download. I love your channel Girl ❤

what a tragic story. The poor girl. Parenting is forever. It's an honor and an obligation.
Asunta was and was going to continue to be a star... she was going to "blaze across the heavens like a brilliant shooting star" as Rush said.
🥝💚🖤
Thank you for pining the crisis hotline in the description. I needed it tonight and it’s working. Love you girl- thank you 🙏 ❤
It is called Rejection Of Adoption, and it can happen at any time.
She’s dead." He just said
" Yeah, she is dead." He was hugging my "sister" the whole time he was saying this. She, of course being his biological daughter."
Understand that RoA will make parents kill their children.
That poem!!!!! Oh my godddd…. bruuuuuuuutallllll, talk about scathing!!!!!!
I tried to watch the documentary but I didn’t like how it was done so I ended up not watching till the end..
I’m so happy you did this video.
Same ! The documentary was not entertaining
Glad I caught this because I just watched this yesterday and I'm still not clear on what exactly really happened. So thanks.❤
Oh, really?! Is it that bad? I'm about to watch it on Netflix after watching Annie present it. Twice. Maybe that's the right order?🤔
Annie coming in clutch!!! i was falling asleep at work fam
No no stay awake! Lol

ANNE can you please explain the difference between 10 to Life and Seriously? I love the music intro btw
Stoked! Another long video from AE!!
Hi Annie, I am from Spain and love your videos. Excited to see that you covered this case, it was a big thing back in the day here.
Sending love from New Hampshire USA ❤
This case is so sad. They wanted a child then got tired of being a parent. So they killed their child. This is truly terrible. 😢
We need ya to come to the East Coast Annie, NC preferably ❤
Can’t wait to see you SLC! So excited talked my hubby into going for my Birthday big 59! 🎉
RED FLAG 🚩
Can’t wait to see you in Arizona @annieelise I convinced my both sister in laws and my sister!!❤
Watching you from Perth, Western Australia
Annie great video! Please do an EC tour! Proctors theater in Schenectady NY would be an amazing venue!
You know what time it is.....

I’m singing it in my head!
@@annieelise❤
This is so so heartbreaking. I’m so curious why this happened. If they killed her why did they do it instead of just sending her to go to school somewhere out of the country.
Come to the Midwest, girl! 🤗💜
PLEASE!!!!!
I second that! We love you in the Midwest!
Trying!!
No we literally love you + true crime is our common ground here!
