CyberPunk 2077 Review RANT | Lies, Mediocrity, and Endless Disappointment

- Well, here's the Cyberpunk 2077 review. Is it the biggest disappointment of all time? No, but it makes the top 10. If you like the game, that's fine. But this is not what we were promised. CD Projekt Red deceived us all, delivering not an RPG but a mediocre action game.
#Cyberpunk2077 #Cyberpunk #SyntheticMan #DeusEx
I realize this video is going to ruffle some feathers, judging by the poll I put up. Just know that I don't hate the game or think it's bad, but it is incredibly disappointing.
Ah, don't worry about the inevitable angry comments/dislikes from sheep fanboys who lack any critical thinking. Anyone with sense would see and understand where you're coming from.
To be honest dude I never understood the big deal about this game to begin with i mean from my point of view it looks no different then Borderlands just a typical rpg shooter only borderlands did it better
Yeah the story and characters are good for the most part but like gameplay and mechanics wise are just not it.
Good video, but Worth A Buy summed it up perfectly. It's an extremely disappointing 6.5/10 that should've been at least a 9.5/10.
AAA gaming is awful. Man I miss the Golden Age of gaming.
It's not about how good some aspects of the game are. It's about how much was promised that they didn't deliver on. The open world is a joke. The ps4 and x box 1 version of this game, that they made all the money off of, is a joke. Not near enough people are covering how bad the AI in this game is. Great video thanks for covering it honestly.
This game definitely has a good 2 years of development left and they rushed it
I really think that CDPR should have stuck to the Witcher series(maybe make a game where you create a Witcher from scratch) because you need to worry about less things in such a setting. At this point it is clear that they are among the very best at creating spaces in video games which really helps fantasy settings like the Witcher.
@@soumyadeepbanerjee964 cyberpunk was their idea long before the Witcher. But more importantly, the theme is the smallest issue
Poor management.
Retarded management as always
Game should’ve came out in *2023*
Thing that actually annoys me the most is no real character customization after creation. In a world of augmented people, I can’t get a hair cut!?
Fr, I can replace the entirety of my forearms with literal blades but nobody can cut my hair?
Exactly, body modification is a lifestyle and fashion trend in the Cyberpunk world. It's not a stretch to have a barbershop, at the very least.
No immersion at all
Can't get tattoos, hair cuts, fully cybernetic body mods, not many clothing options.
Because its an empty city
You can hear his hurt & disappointment. This dude is talking from the heart.
True
AND CAN HEAR YOU TALKING FROM THE BUM, PROBABLY SONY FANBOY.
IF YOURE INTELLECTUALLY BANKRUPT STAY AWAY FROM PC GAMES AND GET BACK TO PS3.
@@TheKwod So close! I'm actually 3DO fanboy.

What a fitting end to 2020 😭
The cherry on top of a dog shit year
@@northide8785 Amen
Yeah like the year haven’t Been shitty enough. This turd comes out. Quite fitting indeed
glados appears in the game. that was a great sidequest
We just got a new strain of COVID here and they've 'cancelled' Christmas and banned us from travelling and seeing family. I don't have Cyberpunk to get mad at, so I'll console myself playing Skies of Arcadia and Tony Hawks on my Wii 😉
“Nothing good came out this year”
How quickly we forget Ghost of Tsushima.
Final Fantasy Remake, and Doom Eternal,
@James Gk Negative gaming channel? I don't think pointing the bad stuff in a videogame or exposing the lies of a big and loved studio makes you a "terrible negative gaming channel".
I agree he didn't prepare the video. His points are all across an badly expressed, but he doesn't try to sell you anything that is not. It's a rant borned from disappointmet and resentment for a studio that hyped the game to the sky.
I haven't played Ghost of Tsushima yet and I am not a big fan of Final Fantasy, but Doom Eternal is definitely not a good game.
@@Dead4911 Oh come on dude
doom eternal?? doom eternal is complete scum for little kids. Only ghost of tsushima is good game
@@bryanscruggs7566 The original 2 dooms were fucking amazing, they were all about speed, keeping up your momentum while killing 100s of enemies, and now the new doom remakes have you either melee each enemy when they start glowing, causing you to stop entirely, or shoot an extra time then you should have, also making it 3d was a bad decision because now it's not a badass run and gun like the originals or something like contra, it's another shitty 1st person shooter like call of duty.
This is like Game of Thrones S8. The only enjoyment i get is listening to people rip it apart. So sad
I was thinking the same thing

@@prasunkumar1125 I have fun with the driving and shooting . And most games cant get close to telling a good story so
Life paths are pointless and the game is just not as epic as it was marketed to be. Definitely not game of the decade as most CDPR fans were expecting. Very disappointing.
@Stone game runs fine on last gen consoles, people are just whiney
@@Dead4911 LMFAO runs great on last gen? Why do you think CDPR pulled it out on the PlayStation store? Even on PC it runs like shit. RTX 3090 couldn't hit 60fps on native 4k, you literally have to turn on DLSS just for it to be playable.
@@underoath257 well I’m happy with 24fps because it didn’t make the gameplay difficult, if you can’t play a game unless it’s at 4K and 60fps then maybe it’s your fault.
Piss off. Happy with 24 fps, your reflexes probably such.
@@odst123451 I’m happy with 24fps because it’s a story game, I would be happy with no gameplay.
this game was so disappointing im seriously contemplating distancing myself from gaming. I'm just tired of the cash grabbing and shitty overhyped games.
Support indie gaming.
Indie games are fucking trash
same here man. im down to a mmorpg called black desert, and thats rlly all i play until more fromsoftware games come out.
Hype trains are all about funding, never believe them. The only dev I follow is Star Citizen bc its legit interesting, but if it flops idgaf.
Im down to playing older games and slowly falling out of trying newer games.
I don't even care about the performance issues, the problem is that they made a RPG with barely any systems or Role Play.
same as witcher, more fault of the public than the devs, kids and casuals nowadays, like more action-rpg, than actual W-RPG.
Agreed. And it feels dishonest how they marketed that it would be like that.
@cool dude wait I may be aa little behind on this, but didn't they marketed the background story as a feature? And now it's not in the final game? Wth? Glad I didn't pre-order this mess, I was so close tho
@@sebdrum92 everyone forgot about these promised features, like seriously? How you can forget about that, and when game releases those features were cut, and some people like "its okay, they will bring it back with patches". Yeah, sure.
@cool dude Thats straight up lie, even doesnt need staged trailers to understand that. This is too much burden to carrie on, its almost impossible, and no one should have bait for it...
You can't even go to a barbershop to change your hairstyle because apparently, barbershops dont exist in 2077.
Darn straight. I'm from the future, and babies come out with mohawks, piercings, AND tattoos.
@MrWereverForever and this game is suppose to big on "cool" and style. I was expecting visible cybernetic implants, but not even haircuts.
But that doesnt matter since theres no third person to see yourself anyways ffs.
Cant change clothing looks, so you have mis matched clothing to get the highest armour ratings.
Even fucking San Andreas has barbershops. And that was released in 2004.
Even more funny considering the Witcher has barbers and that is for Geralt, a character that you don't create from scratch.
And no car customization? Like come on.
I've come to the conclusion that Keanu Reeves ruined the game indirectly. CDPR had a story all written and done. Keanu came aboard so they added him to that scene. Than the breathtaking moment happened and Keanu became beloved. So they rewrote the story to have him be the main character essentially. Thats why the prologue seems so out of place. It seemed like a start to a strong story and than they just kill off all the characters at the end of the prologue and the game devolves into a bunch of nonsense that feels very rushed.
That's why the rest of the game like performance, AI, no choices, etc..., because instead of spending the last 2 years finishing buttoning the game up. They spent that time rewriting and cramming the new story in. Thats why there are no cutscenes or anything. Thats just my theory
A gay theory
Checks out. I had similar suspicions.
Agreed. Act 1 felt strong and then the rest of the game is weak. Plus they killed V's personality for Johnny one - for whole game only thing I did learnt about its the name and that's all.
RIP Jackie, the only character I cared about.
I agree 💯. The game could of been a masterpiece if they hadn’t of changed their mind mid way through production. The whole dying thing doesn’t really suit a open world RPG.
Yeah, I tend to agree pretty much. Even the endings revolve around Johnny. Everything is just Johnny, Johnny, Johnny... muh "wholesome keanun big chungus". I fucking hate this game.
Source: trust me bro
So many people are trying to cap and say that despite the bugs, the game is good. Nah, dude, underneath all the janky junk, the game is MEDIOCRE. Props for being one of the few people willing to call that out.
well most of the fanboys are braindead and bootlicker, no surprise to me
@@beaconing7689 Pretty much. I just heard the game got removed from PlayStation Store due to all the issues. Like, dude, I didn't ask for Anthem 2...
people are afraid to call the came mediocre because they want to justify their purchase. Hell I pre ordered the game and I was so hyped for it but I'm aware that the game is so mediocre.
pretty much like the wicher 3 but many people call it GOTY for some reason like yeah if ur someone who has just started gaming sure it might look like the best thing ever but for me who has 17 years of gaming the game is mediocre at best
You guys are really annoying,it’s your own damn fault for hyping up too much, expected too much. As papa kratos said b4: always keep your expectations low then you won’t be disappointed, ppl really should learn from this and stop being a jackass complain all the time.Jesus ..
'No, you cannot wear that hat. It's too high level. It literally will not go on your head.'
That's pretty much what make Dark Souls and Skyrim/Fallout 4 more rpg than what people see because everyone would call it a "sandbox system", want to look cool? Sure, go ahead! Nobody will stop you from look absolutely ridiculous!
It’s so weird cause when you watch cdpr interviews they talk a lot about how they want to be different to other gaming publishers/studios, how they want to be better. They are a bunch of hypocrites, or either just said all that stuff to gain fans.
@Martin Pigeon yes I heard about that, it really sucks they had so much passion for the game but just because of the other people it was ruined. The gaming industry is just getting worse and worse over the years, I’m worried for the gaming future.
@Martin Pigeon Making games is hard. But making the tools that make the games is the hardest.
They were over confident with themselves. They got people talking about overrated Witcher 3. So now they think they are the best. Well, CyberJunk 77 pretty much proved them wrong. LoL
like every company
yeah, mr cdpr, the single entity that made this game deluded us
CDPR will never be able to "fix" this game, it is what it is. We have to drop this turd and look to the future for something else.

We didn't have overly high expectations. Its not on us to doubt gameplay footage. We SHOULD get what we are shown.
Its not our fault for our expectations, because we arent the ones who set them.
Agreed, that's how I felt with Aliens Colonial Marines 2013.
To be fair, Gearbox did more shady crap with that 1 than CDPR did with Cyberpunk 2077.
I agree, mostly. CDPR marketing definitely started selling this game as a GTA alternative over the last few months, which the game clearly wasn't built for. That being said, the hype train is never good for a game outside of increasing sales. Everyone, myself included, needs to take a step back at some point and take a more realistic perspective on what a game is going to likely be. But, like I said in the video, I don't think anyone could've guessed Cyberpunk would be this disappointing.
@@SyntheticMan Everyone saw how great the witcher was and that's the ONLY reason CP sold as well as it did.

Thank you so much for this. Everyone has been talking about the glitching, freezing and bugs, but not enough about everything that was promised and not executed. This was the most disappointing game I’ve ever played.
Even without the bugs this hot trash would still have No public transport, no cars on the highways, dated clunky on the rails set pieces, no 'Real' rpg mechanics, a barely interactive empty city, NPCs nothing but useless skittles.. This was the one thing that I thought would lift me up at the end of an awful year and its ASS! I am now literally as broken as the game
Ghost Of Tsushima and RE3 were two games I enjoyed very much this year. Never expected much of CP2077. It's still not as bad as the biggest disappointment and the most vile game to come out this year--TLOU2.
@@neamraven TLOU2 GAMEPLAY SHITS ON CP77
@@thepowerofmyth I don't even like FPS games and I can still tell you with a reasonable amount of confidence that TLOU2 is vastly more boring across the board. It fails everywhere except for graphics. And that's coming from someone who prefers third person over first person any day. But hey if you like it, you like it.
@@neamraven I went from cyberpunk and then re picked up tlou2.. And i was shocked. Thr AI is a night and day difference. As you said the graphics are amazing. While I see why people hate thr story.. I though it was alright. The game physics are good as well. But yeah, im having a great time playing it. Plus it has very little bugs!
@@thepowerofmyth CP2077 barely has any AI. That being said, TLOU2 is also pretty basic in that regard. It has some bugs as well, despite being a much smaller, linear game. Not nearly as many bugs as CP2077, but that's a huge open world game. To me, just like the first TLOU, the gameplay is mediocre and kind of boring. There barely is any game, it's mostly a movie and it's super linear. But while the first game was saved by its story, the sequel isn't so fortunate. And so what's left is the gameplay, which isn't fun or compelling. Not to mention there are barely any monsters, and they are the only fun part...
I feel that if Rockstar weren’t so money-hungry and if they really wanted, they could do a better job making *THE* definitive open-world Cyberpunk experience GTA-related or not.
Exactly, shame that online is making too much momey and they just sit on IP. Same with elder scrolls...
They have been working on AI and world mechanics since day 1.. That's decades. Offcourse they'll do a better job in simulation a world. A future world ? I don't think so.
They’re working on GTA 6 right now dude they don’t have time for that shit.
It's pretty hard to live up to gta 5 which is why I think gta 6 will take a long time also every time R* releases something it's always something completely on a different level just look at rdr 2 and gta V R* knows when to talk and when to keep their mouth shut, cdpr bit off more than they can chew and it's very sad to see the so called *NEXT GENERATION OF OPEN WORLD* end up like this, to say one is disappointed is an understatement
The thing is though, you could say that about CDPR or Bethesda. They're not incompetent games developers obviously, money got in the way.
I am disappointed in the game too, it is nothing like CDred described.
I remember pre-ordering Andromeda and after that telling myself "Never again" but then 2077 came along and I told myself "There's no way the people that made witcher 3 would do me dirty" and not only did they do me dirty they hit me with a spit in the eye karate chop to the throat combo.
The only good thing that came out of all this is I never get even the smallest amount of excitement for any game anymore and won't even give it a second look until it's been out for a couple weeks and even then probably only briefly until it's on sale
Unfortunate.... had a lot of potential but you can’t even blame it on the overhype. The game is just, in general a shiny paint job over mediocrity. Anyway, you absolutely nailed it man
Mediocrity? What a load of crap you just spewed. The story and characters are absolutely phenomenal - real, believable, multi-layered. The whole city and world-design is astonishing. Consumers don’t learn, even after all of the lies and broken promises they are all lining up overhyping Witcher 4.
Woker 4
CDPR should be working really hard on providing the game they promised right about now. At this point it's embarrassing that the games industry is at this standard.
Sure, meanwhile the indies are doing better... - Mark my words; They're the next big ones, not companies like this.
Nope, but the anime has made a bunch of people pretend the game isn't crap and now its reviews on steam are great.
Cant patch the story
Personally, the hard truth to swallow is that one small village from RDR2 has more depth and complexity than this whole game. The AI in the NPCs, the dynamic environments, interactivity, etc. , after playing the games back and forth it this just really shows how shallow the state of Cyberpunk is at the moment.
Holy shit dude. Crowbcat put you in his video!!!
Yeah, that blew my mind, honestly. Never did I think I would end up in one of his videos.
Think im gonna play deus ex again lol
All those glossy trailers full of potential immersion are all lies. It's just a Ubisoft clone masquerading as something as marvelous as Deus ex.
Well, the games from the Deus Ex serie are simply better games... in every aspects (excepted graphics ofc), plus they don't have many glitches and other bugs.
But somehow it is disappointing, if Cyberpunk 2077 had lived to the expectations, maybe that would have caused developpers to create more cyberpunk games. With how many copies of this game was sold already, the genre has potential.
Detroit and Shanghai from Human Revolution are probably the most memorial hub areas in any game I’ve played
@James L my thoughts exactly.
The first or second one?
The reason Mass Effect worked with the voice acting was because choices actually effected your space crew, they begin to feel like your family. Because it was set in space, the world felt significantly bigger.
I respect this guy cause he calls out RDR2 for being boring at. A reviewer that a man can trust.
When I started the game I felt cheated by that 6 months montage because when they showed that trailer before there was no indication of it being a FUCKING montage.
Man CDPR management really fucked us over. Even more so the console consumers.
“I’ve been schooled 10 f**king times at this point”
😂 I feel you bro ! They got me again to !
they shortened the story in cyberpunk because no one actually finished witcher 3...wtf? what kind of excuse is that ?
Go and revisit this mess with the Phantom Liberty update

I mean you can't blame people for having unrealistic expectations when CDPR literally overhyped this game beyond its limits.
Yeah, the dying in a few shots when the enemies are bullet sponges is bad. I know Deus Ex isn’t really that similar to CP (despite what people say) the reason hard mode is good in that game is because you’ll die in a few shots, but so will enemies. You gotta be tactical in your encounters, while here it seems like you should confront bullet sponges is the cheesiest, most careful way possible.
most careful way? I found myself tricking the AI after a few hours. Wasn't even on purpose, but somehow my brain figured, "well not worth reloading this filler quest for the fifth time" so I just stand far away and use "Software reset" and my .50BMG. found this game got broing with that quite fast. only playing for the main quest now tbh.
I only had issues with enemies being billet sponges early on then they became quite manageable once I started specing my character more. Now most enemies go down with just a single headshot from my beastly sniper rifle or a grenade detonate hack.
@@lhays117 do you think the Game is fun tho ?
@@chriseffpunkt4333 Yeah of course I do otherwise wouldn’t have nearly beat it. The gunplay/combat is better than he leads you to believe in this video (still not amazing, but good), there’s more narrative choice than he leads you to believe also (wish there could be a bit more, but it’s definitely not a totally linear experience mission-wise), and just experiencing the awesome writing and environment really sucks me in for a fun and compelling time. As flawed and often times lackluster this game is in the technical and gameplay department, I never was genuinely bored except for a very small handful of times and was always excited to see where each mission would take me next. That’s just my opinion though. Game is disappointing, yes, but it’s still a good game if you accept that fact.
I forgot the name of the rifle right now, but there is a weapon that one of the enemies drop that is a sniper rifle that autoaims on vitals of the enemies, it can one shot almost every enemy in the game even in the hard setting, amazing now all encounters can be beaten with a single gun no tactic required, just hide behind a cover and autoaim everyone.
I have literally been saying that New vegas is still better than this game, thank you for mentioning it!

They probably used the Horse Physics and Handling from Witcher for the cars. lol. I really like the game overall, but even if you like it, it gets hard to ignore the flaws. I had practically no visual glitches/bugs with the exception of a single T-Pose in ~70 hours of playing it. But the driving...I don't need GTA but come on, they could have done better than that, and the sounds of the cars are disappointing too, I know it's the future but if Mad Max with a petrol drought can drive a V8 why don't we have a rumbling V8 in it or a howling V10 or something. They have no distinct sounds to me. (And I agree, going 150 plus feels like me going 50 in my hatchback in RL) I think the only way they can really make it right is give everybody who bought it and hasn't returned it should get all the DLC's for free.
Man they need to make a whole extra set of dlc on top of what they already had planned, to fill this game up the way it was intended to be. This game looks like it needs 6 major expansions and 3 smaller ones. Then it would be a complete game.
They do have v8s and v10s. The type 66 and the caliburn have those respectively. Thats what i can tell from sound at least. The caliburns sound is directly taken from a lexus LFA.
@@ignacio8529 Hmm, well they have distinct sounds and yes, the Type 66 sounds fairly V8-ish, reminds me of a future Mustang, the Caliburn sounds like a JDM driven at the limiter in a bad way. Not sure, just feel like it lacks in terms of sound design. I know it's not a driving simulator, but I think there is room for improvement there for sure.
Shame is that it needed so little to be good. Better leveling, better loot, better balancing, better economy, better driving and more random events in world. I would overlook the bugs, janky animations and outdated quest design if I could actually enjoy the gameplay and fell rewarded for exploring the city.
I’ve been gaming since 1985. One thing I’ve noticed is the more games (and movies for that matter) have access to new visual technology the less the developers focus on core gameplay/story. There are rare exceptions... but that’s the problem, they are exceptions.
It use to be that choices actually mattered and you suffered the consequences. Now it’s like games are so afraid to tell you that you lost, they end up safely guiding you through every scenario. #Permadeath2021
There is a saying that, the entertainment industries want to dumb down peoples expectations on things so that they can profit off of less effort and work. This goes for movies and games. Almost every super hero movie has a similar ending, theme, flow. All horror movies follow a pattern, formula, template.

Only so much time to develop a game, so impressive graphics are a red flag - a CDP RED flag :D if story beats cost so much to show on screen you can be damned sure they're scared of them not being seen. In other words, meaningful choices with big consequences are not encouraged in AAA games. FO Vegas and VtM Bloodlines were unicorns :D Never go public traded if you care about story/gameplay quality. Good luck to the CDPR devs fixing it, or future Witcher 4+ may be a hard pass for many also.
Wow the fanboys really got angry. Look at the ratio
Witcher 3 at least let you ignore the loot system by introducing witcher gear, which could be upgraded as you progressed. Dropped loot was terrible though. Sometimes cool looking weapons would be dropped by high level monsters but would be LOWER than your current level, making them completely useless. Even ones that were your level or higher would eventually become useless. It's really dumb that a weapon's worth is dictated purely be level and not "type". Oh look here's a cool looking sword with 3 rune slots and an awesome name but it's only level 10 so does absolutely no damage compared to a "rusty Novigrad sword" at level 30. Makes no sense.

Speaking on the issue of player choice, I liked that in the Outer Worlds, choosing not to kill a plot-integral character blocks an entire questline with the sublight gang. If you don’t kill this character, the gang isn’t hostile but they stop having a working relationship with you. THAT is what I want in my rpgs.

Everything they promised was evident in the prolong, but after the first few missions, you can tell the rest of the game is completely rushed and unfinished. Devs was pressured by investors to push the game out before the end of the year, as they were scared of taking big losses from their stocks. If you pay attention to their stocks, their stocks took a dip in March, and then they announced release in Nov, and you can see their stocks almost triple. This game's story was changed last minute and is riddled with planned programming. I'm convinced they had to release the game ahead of schedule by the numbers.
The disaster this game has become has made me more determined than ever to become a game developer myself. Cause I want to create games that are actually finished on release, have huge amounts of heart and soul put into it, and I will not promise stuff that might not even be in the final game. In fact I might just try to keep what my games look like secret until right before they are released. Much like what Valve did with Half Life: Alyx. I just feel so heartbroken by this, and I might just make my own pieces of gaming artwork to help myself and other people cope with this new derpression that is now over us. And if you believe you can do what I want to do when it comes to game development, DO IT! Learn from the mistakes CDPR made with this game and swear to yourself not to do them yourself! Become the light of hope in these dark times! Do not doubt that you can't do anything to make this better, because your doubt is the main thing helping this garbage strive! It’s clear that you have a dream and I wish you all the luck in achieving that dreams but you have to realize that you are describing all the developers in all the companies even people that develop for EA and Ubisoft games.
The fake promises and the unpolished games is not from the developers it’s from producers, CEO’s and investors that pressure the developers. I’ve seen the developers of cdpr talk about this game and especially their lead quest designer and they all seem super passionate about this game and I have no doubt about that. I really think that cdpr wanted to delay this game even more but couldn’t because of the higher ups and this doesn’t just go out to cdpr developers. I remember when AC Origins was coming out (which if you haven’t played, it takes place in Egypt) and I remember the director of that game was from Egypt and you could see in his eyes that he really cared about making this game a good game and that he wanted to honor his own culture but what we got in the end was like 10h of fun main mission and 40h of filler crap just to make the game long like the Witcher. I really don’t think that this was his vision for the game. AAA will always be ruined by producers and investors because they are the only ones that can fund these games and what we as gamers like is not what is going to make them as much money as possible.
@@eliasrizk1284 You know man, you are absaloutely right! It's not the developers fault that so many games nowadays are released broken and underwhelming. It's the higher ups who are responsible for that! Just take a look at what happed with Hideo Kojima and Konami. Honestly, everything else was bad enough for me, but the nail in the coffin for me is the AI...it’s embarrassingly bad, what the hell is the point of a “beautiful and immersive world” if it has no true life to it? The whole game is pretty much just an illusion, trying to cover up all its faults, even without the bugs the game is a complete disappointment. My favorite part of a open world game is going around killing people/messing around, yet the npc’s act completely brain dead, the guy in the wheelchair stood up and then ran away, npcs would just kneel down and yell instead of running or fighting back, there’s no true npc interaction, the enemy AI is pretty damn bad, etc etc.
This game has joined Fallout 4 and Aliens CM as my biggest disappointments. I was SOOOO wrong about this game. I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with the fact that no game will ever be able to fill the void that Fallout NV left behind.

I believe the devs at CDPR are passionate about their games as proven by the comments some of them already made, and I think they will add and fix all that is wrong. As you said, we should stop getting excited for AAA Games from now on. The gaming industry is no longer concerned with creating actual, fun games. Instead, they want to make something pretty JUST so it can look good on trailers, make us crave what we see, and then sell us a game that only does the bare minimum of what is shown. Today's mainstream games are all trailer-bait, mental writing prompts for us to see and come up with a great game in our imagination so we can buy the game expecting something that doesn't really exist.
Support indie developers, and remain skeptical of the big corpos. The only way this madness will end is if we stop supporting their trickery with our money. The only way they'll stop doing this to us if it's no longer profitable, and right now, it is to them, since people will buy something and defend it if they've been conditioned enough with hype.
