Ubisoft has a knack for screwing up. The zombie expansion to this game could have been not Zombiu 2 and instead it was a shitty raid mode.

Imaging eating a chocolate. You love that chocolate. It's been your favourite since you were a kid. You recognize the incredible taste. At first it's comforting. What you expect. But then you realize something's not quite right with the taste. It somehow feels... off. You look at the wrapping paper and you finally learn the hard truth. Your favourite chocolate has been spoiled for several years now. That's my feelings with ubisoft games nowadays.

When it was announced back in E3, it was very dark and very ambitious. I liked how you could recruit people and actually spend time to level up and give them perks. Now its just tech points and like 5 unique people
The other part I thought was dumb about this game was the recruitment system.
When recruiting a character, what would you do in the real world? Test them. But in this game, you’re supposed to solve their problem(s). Then you ask them to join. It’s borderline indentured servitude. Not to mention, it’s not a real test to see if they’re worth the recruitment. That’s another problem with the game, apparently everyone in this game can hack.
That’s explained by the game in the beginning. Only a few are left in the resistance, most people left dedsec after the bombings (hence why u see a lot of ex dedsec people in the world) they need all the support they can get. Shit game tho.

It seems like what really kills this game is the whole recruitment thing. Had they created a handful of actual characters with distinct roles and you say formed a team to fight the bad guys and had concrete characters to work with this might have at least some kind of foundation.
You're thinking too much on how to better a Ubisoft game. Instead, you just need to take a basic idea and execute that. If you get feedback on how it should be better then make a sequel with maybe half the better ideas in place.

Even with the recruitment system, if they at least let you use the other characters like an actual team, they could have made something great. Get a Marksman, Getaway Driver, and two defected Albion operators and you have to clear out an Albion outpost. Use one of the Albion guys to sneak in, get what you're looking for, and book it to the Getaway Driver. Sniper and other Albion operator provide covering fire while you escape, then you have to switch to the Getaway Driver to try and outmaneuver the ensuing Albion chase.
@@duncanharrell5009 If the recruitment was like Assassin's Cree Brotherhood where you can get characters to assist you it would have worked a lot better.
Setting the game in the UK and being able to recuit all different people, you'd think they'd focus the game more around stealth and non-lethal approaches due to the lack of guns compared to the US. It might have given the game a bit of a uniqueness, as well as making the odd gun you find a more powerful, but limited thing. But I guess that's too hard for Ubisoft to think of.
Also, you can own guns in the UK, but you need certifications for them and you can only really own rifles and shotguns, not handguns. Again, might've been interesting since you can't really hide a full length bolt action rfile on your person just walking around, but again, Ubisoft is lazy.
The non lethal in this game sucks so bad. The first thing you should do in this game is get someone with a gun.

Lol, maybe that JALI technology will start showing up in other games. But honestly, in this game's case the bad lip sync could just be part of its many bugs, Legion was not ready for release.
It’s virtually impossible to perfect lip syncing or animations when ALL PEDESTRIANS ARE PLAYABLE.

I like how you point out the issue with them "seeing through your disguise." Like you state, if you actually work there, why would they get suspicious merely by being within close proximity of you? Suspicious activity would be understandable, but the Hitman-like mechanic doesn't fit here. Really hurts immersion.
I think its more of a "hey since when did this person start working here" makes sense for Albion and Police, but I've had random construction workers assault me before while sneaking because i had a construction disguise on
Hitman is a good series, they did stealth right. Ubisoft tried ripping some of their mechanics off and failed miserably at it. If Ubisoft had to make a new game with all NEW mechanics, an entirely new IP.. I bet it'd suck, it would be a blank piece of paper. They are copy paste artists at this point and little else.

@@deenanthekemoni5567 I like the Hitmam games. They definitely have some glaring faults, but they're quite enjoyable. If IO really wanted, they could make the next Hitman game a 10/10. The main problem is that the rules in the games only ever apply to you. For example, there is no coding for if an NPC goes into an off-limits area, so nothing happens to them. Or if you have the wrong disguise for an area, only you get in trouble if caught. Other guards who shouldn't be allowed in are given a pass. Or locked doors. Only you need a keycard. Not only do they not need a keycard; they don't even carry out the proper animation for unlocking the door via a keycard. Or if a level has police and criminals - if the police see the criminals pursuing and shooting at you, they join in and help the criminals. That said, the stealth is still done very well.

I feel the same way about Breakpoint. I made up almost the same setting for a tabletop RPG in 2005 lmfao and I was excited to say the least that a AAA company is making a game based around this idea. But the gameplay is the same ubisoft jankfest with shit stealth/driving/gunplay. Many such cases!
Oddly enough, I'm enticed by the open world of London. Of course that's no reason to pay $65, but I don't think I've ever really seen London fully realized in a game. We've had New York city; we've had Hollywood. It's nice to get something across the pond.

You can get it bundled with other ubisoft games for like 25$ (thats how they stay afloat btw, release shit at 80-140$, scam the first players,then get more revenue through players buying it on sale, and using the MTX store

Watch dogs 1 was the start. Potential was there for gameplay just needed to be built upon even more. Story was good though
Watch dogs 2. Doubled back in the story for some truly creative and fun gameplay. Not a masterpiece nor did it reach the peak for the gameplay but it set the stage. Also story was more lighthearted and had some comedic moments so if you like lighthearted story’s this one is for you. But anyway a good sequel that needed its successor to be even still not the peak better.
Watch dogs legion...... explain how previous builds looked better than this shit. Most characters are shit I only used a gunman. Or woman for that matter. Melee(which I was most hyped about) wasn’t even good or ok. Just mediocre at best. Hacking was worse that both 1 and 2. And explain how the only person I remember was a ai.
Overall not only am I truly done with Ubisoft but they shited on one of their most interesting ips of that company. Fuck Ubisoft.

The map design and how accurately they depicted London is the only thing worth any credit in this game in my opinion.
I do like the John Wick style executions in the game but still not the best. Just mediocre and nothing special from Ubisoft.
This video has just made me want a Middle-Earth game with the Nemesis system, where you are the orc, recruiting your followers, joining others, betraying them, and all that good shit.

I was really hoping the gunplay and shooting would be upgraded somehow, and I expected the puzzles to be different. How disappointed I was to find out otherwise when I played the game.
Edit: and I agree, the melee combat is pretty simple. It was kinda overhyped, but at least it’s something new we got.

The "play as anybody" aspect just ruins the game. You really see it in the DLC, focusing on 2 main character, Aiden and Wrench, was probably the best decision they could have made.
I, for one, think that the DLC kinda saved the game, but yea, theain game's just such a stereotypical Ubisoft game

Maybe instead of recruitment system, they could have a buddy cop dynamic. One hitman spy doing John Wick and one beekeeper granny. So you have the competent agent and the wacky agent working together to take down the big bad. I feel like the recruitment system is just not a good gimmick.

I only really liked the first watch dogs. I loved the city of Chicago and the dark atmosphere. It wasn't the graphics we were promised at e3 but it still looked great to me. While it was not perfect by any means I really liked the story thanks to how great of a character aiden pearce is and the gameplay. I didn't much care for watch dogs 2 I tried playing it but didn't like it's goofy writing and gameplay wasn't as good. I uninstalled it after 5 hours of gameplay.
Legion on the other hand is just disappointing and I definitely won't be buying it.
Got this game and its a waste I can not save anyway keeps having me do the same missions over and over never save, ugh just a waste. People I recruit are gone and I have to recruit everyone over and over. Because the ubisoft internet server is not working so I have to do everything all over again the worst game never ever buying another watchdog game from ubisoft ever 😤. They just lost me as a customer.
I got so bored of having no guns so quickly what happened to the hacking it's non existent.

Man, I wish there was a new Aliens Vs Predator game coming this year, even if Rebellion made it again. Nothing like that on current consoles and pc or next gen so far.
Although, AVP 2010 is actually backwards compatible on Xbox One X and the new Xbox Series X. Fun but flawed game compared to AVP 2 2001 by Monolith Productions.
It’s 260 gigs on pc not console and it’s that size because of shitty pc optimization and it’s about 70 on console in gigs a little lower I think.

Bought this for something to do since the Cyberpunk delay. One things for sure, I cant drive worth a shit in London. I keep going to the wrong sides of cars and pulling into oncoming traffic.

Ironically I think cyberpunk is a better watch dogs legion than watch dogs legion, but i enjoyed that game as i wasn't heads in the clouds with how the game would be, I remember how they were trying so many things when developing it, they had to scale back a lot of what they wanted as they were way too ambitious

Watch Dogs franchise has potential to be better than the Assassins Creed franchise but I'm convinced Ubisoft is not what they use to be to make that happen.

I actually loved and enjoyed playing watch dogs legion. However, I feel with them abandoning the game SO SOON is a huge let down. This game feels almost incomplete; like more could have been done with it to make it even better. Ubisoft honestly could’ve added more to this game. Instead of adding just Aiden and Wrench; why not add Marcus as well! Hit man and spy operatives could’ve had their own contracts or activities. The customization update is incomplete, as those aren’t all of the cosmetic options that are in game. They could’ve at least have added a update where you can recruit extra operatives ( outside of prestige operatives). Ubisoft could’ve even bought some weapons back from the previous games . What about the media player or sleeping to a specific time in the Dedsec headquarters . Even better, they could’ve made it so we can replay missions without having to restart a new game!!!!!This game had so much potential, that we are never going to see it. SMH

The only thing that's holding up this game for me is the fact that I've turned this game into the Matrix with all the hitman I have and their styles. And the fact that you can pretty much play and feel like John Wick

It's even better once you realize your finish attack changes depending on where you are relative to where they're facing, and that you hoof them in the moose if you finish them from behind. The round doesn't even end until they've spent 5 seconds rolling around in pain

There are plenty of those spider boxes that instantly summon a non modified version of the spider bot... also you can equip the turret version to do the same things as the normal version. The infiltrator version just has more mobity and can be used to perform takedowns, diferent of the ones you find on those boxes

The smoke bomb is a lot more powerful than the paint bomb and has a wider radius, also it can be used to hide youself in it, the paint bomb is just like a flashbang for quick scapes, on that note, Ubisoft needs to fix the street artist's bloody gun, since it's not actually silenced like the description and makes him a far less useful operative and more of an annoying fly.
16:00 Indeed, plenty of times i had to go all over my way of playing to get some variety, that gun is op in any hands, you don't even need to recruit a spy. It's very easy to get confortable with the WD1 way of playing
16:44 Skill Up was refering to the stealth mechanics, not the ways you can break them, the detection was somehow fair on a world bloated of games that can't get it right (not even Ubisoft anymore) and the NPC AI is okay and has some potential, since they flank your position and can ambush you if you are unaware. It's a make your own fun game, but that obviously doesn't forbid from criticizing their sloppy balancing, however, that isn't the stealth mechanics's fault. Deus Ex is not that dynamic, since they have set stages, hitman has behaviour patterns so exploitable that they are laughable sometimes and MGSV the AI is as stupid as that clip you showed, not that they are bad games, but every single one has it's problems and solutions. You can't fault the entire system on a character only, but you can fault the fucking balancing on this game.

I did not think that they would care about that detail. But sometimes the pitch shifting gets indeed on the nose.

Only the borough freed ones have one extra predetermined skill, your first spy will always get "well fit" that lets them take more damage, other spyes that you found can sometimes even spawn with "doomed", making them pretty much risky to recruit. The same to other skilled operatives besides the beekeper and the getaway driver, if I recall myself.

why can everyone use a gun, why not make most of them not being able to use them or you gotta learn, same with melee weapons. make it so you have to improve your skills
I dont think you can give guns to everyone on the team, just give guns to people who already have one.
For example if you have a guy with a revolver and a girl with a glock, you can equip the girl with the revolver but you can't give either weapon to Timmy with his Studded Truncheon or Mickey with his assault rifle.

Seeing this game makes me scared to death for Far Cry 6, the one Ubisoft game I’m actually hyped for (Scott Pilgrim notwithstanding). I feel like it’ll just be Far Cry 3 again, with some good old bugs as the icing on the cake.
A year later turns out far cry 6 sucks just as bad.

Hidden mechanic with permadeath, you only die if you get shot to death. If someone beats the shit out of you, youre just hospitalized.
Imagine if modding tools or such could do. If anyone would even do such. Custom classes, abilties, weapons, and more. Its such a shame to see it being so mediocore, and hollow behind the facade. Theres a few interesting side stories here and there, but the rest isnt really amazing. A fleshed out recruitment and nemesis system should have been at least amazing, since that was their selling point in the end.
They were really going for the GTA killer with the Watchdogs series. All these rediculous drone hacks and weapons and traps and stuff is a desperate attempt to match the potential for mayhem you find in GTA Online.
Just like a comment I saw cool in theory but shitty execution ac, far cry, and watch dogs especially. Imo these games are dragged down by the main head who only want open non linear games I think everyone once a while we need a linear game but no shitty open world design kills Ubisoft games.

It barrows WAY more from other games then just Watchdogs alone. For example, Assassins Creed Syndicate...
The map is practically the same in terms of general layout and the boxing in this game is heavily inspired by the boxing in AC Syndicate as well...
These developers can’t even think of decent activities without taking them from previous games. It’s absolutely pathetic...
Nemesis system is patented. I never realized how many patents for game mechanics exist, which potentially deters developers from implementing and or improving upon them. Picked up the complete AsC Origins collection for $20 & despite the shortcomings have found myself returning to the title. I intend on waiting for a deep sale to try Legion as my familiarity with the 'Ubisoft experience' has often been distasteful. I'm always uncertain whether the extra game 'padding' is a feature or an artificial barrier for a push towards micro-transactions.

So far I'm 13 hours into Legion & despite the apparent flaws there are definitely aspects that are enjoyable.

I always say the best Ubisoft games are the South Park games because Matt and Trey had a huge hand in the making of those games. They wouldn't let Ubisoft fuck it up, they hate it how previous South Park games were made and it was because they did not have a hand in the making of those games and these games, they set out to change that! With that being said some Ubisoft games are still fun but it's a pain in my ass with all the micro transactions battle passes cut content and all that bullshit
+ Instead of lack luster braindead procedural generated NPCs to recruit, I would have prefer if player can actually recruit hundreds of actual handcrafted unique characters in London. We already have some examples of games with hundreds of unique characters (Suikoden, Valkyrie Profile, Valkyrie Chronicles, Trails series, Chrono Cross, FGO, etc/some other gacha-like games). Even more so with player should have an actual avatar character like a "commander" type role in some tactical/strategy games. It would add a lot in the characterizations for sure & story could actually make sense with the scenes & etc.
+Yeah, drones in this game are OP & pretty much some other things useless af. Construction worker & soldiers are far more effective in missions than some other NPCs too,. The gimmicks of boomers old grandpa & grandma for some jokes get boring fast & very doubtful players would use them in a serious missions or iron man mode playthrough.
+ story sucks, not just because of the writing but a total dissonance with core gameplay being NPCs totally detach with you are in the scenes. A total failure in the narrative perspectives & storytelling 101 imo.
+ Once again, as the bad tradition with Ubisoft games, PC version on launch is freaking broken & horrible to run ...
A bunch of handcrafted NPCs would be awesome, but way too much effort for Ubisoft lol.

They actually did make handcrafted NPCs that look like they would've had a really cool quest attached... Except you have to pay like 25$ to buy FunBux to then buy these characters and they're instantly in your roster without even so much as a hello

my favorite thing to do with the recruit system is deep profile someone who hates dedsec and kill their family members infront of them lol. without this feature, i would have Severe buyers remorse.
In my opinion, this game is awesome. But it can use some updates and patches.
Meant to say this before, but it sounds like Legion copied the terrible disguise system Hitman Absolution used.
UA-camr, Civit, covered in depth each Hitman game and yeah, Absolution basically made a staple of the franchise useless.
Also, if you want better stealth games? Play: MGS1-MGS4, Splinter Cell up to Double Agent, Thief, Deus Ex, etc.
MGSV suffered a lot of the same problems Legion did in my opinion. Terrible story, terrible retcons, and only the 1st 10 hours were interesting.
After that? Get ready for a boring repetitive grind and ya realize the open world is worse than Far Cry.
Not the worse game, but Metal Gear Solid should've ended with MGS4 2008.
Yeah, pretty much the same system, so uniforms are useless in Legion.
I love MGS 1-3, thought 4 had way too many cutscenes and not enough gameplay, but I loved the entire Shadow Moses level, especially the end.
5 was definitely disappointing for a lot of reasons but it definitely had good stealth mechanics.
Deus Ex HR is probably my favorite stealth game and definitely my favorite Cyberpunk game (not that I've played more than a few, but still). Only played one Splinter Cell, I need to give it another chance because I wasn't really in the mood for stealth at the time. Thief I'll be playing pretty soon, actually.
@Synthetic Man, I really enjoyed the parts of MGS4 that asked you to stealth through an actual battlefield/war zone. Was really disappointed that MGSV did not do that, especially given the time period of the game.
MGSV isn't a bad game, but I enjoyed MGS3 by far more. MGS didn't need to go open world.
Deus Ex HR was a great game. As for Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory is likely the best one. Although it is fun to play the previous entries to see how the franchise improved itself.
Are you gonna play the classic Thief games? Heard the reboot was awful.
Also, there's Tenchu, but its best games are stuck on PS1 and PS2.

They gotta keep the parkour from watch dogs 2 and the story telling from watch dogs 1 …the main thing that sucked about watch dogs legion was not having a main character smh the story sucked and the movement was a downgrade from the previous game
