Even if you don't believe in God, you can still put differences aside and respect people. I am a man of God, yet several of my best friends are atheists, who don't let division in their life.
Ronnie Dunn, the singer, wrote this song as a true story from his upbringing. You will be hard pressed to find him singing this song live at a concert. To this day, he says he can’t make it thru it. 😢
Folks often say they feel sad...But I always smile and feel joyful when I hear this song.. So any things in this song. Small town life of taking care of the older folks.. A young boy learning skills and wisdom from an elder.. Young man missing the grandpa figure. the reunion in heaven is something to rejoice.
As a white kid that was friends with black kids when that wasn't acceptable, I was loved by black people that accepted me in their hood, I love them for loving me when wasn't much love at my house. More truth in the blood, the red.
I have been a country music fan my whole life. What you said about country musician being the first to embrace you, it's what country music is about. It's about life!
This is one song I listen to that really gets to me and makes me well up with tears! They are so diverse and his voice can just cut you to the core. Thanks for all the reactions, much appreciated!
This was a true story of Ronnie Dunn’s life. That wonderful God fearing older gentleman led him to the Lord. It’s a beautiful song with a beautiful message and a warning in some ways that there is a life after this one. We choose who we follow and where we go after this life.❤
What makes this even more beautiful is an older man, talking about being a veteran with someone young, and expressing that he doesn’t regret any of it. Expressing all his loss but still having the positive mindset that he will see his loved ones again.
That has always been an iconic country song. Country is all about the story and the voice! People want to see the real side of other people, not the bottled up side. People are tired of fake personas and want to see the real person! What is special about this song is that you don't have to be religious to connect to it, it transcends religion. Even atheists can connect to this song, a boy wanting to "believe" that his older friend is back with his wife and child and the hurt that the boy is feeling.
Just so ya know, Ronnie Dunn was attending seminary in Tulsa Ok and to pay tuition he started singing in honkey tonks around the area, a producer heard him and introduced him to Kix Brooks and the rest is history
Heard this song a long time ago and never new how much it will make me miss the man i call uncle. Grew up down the street from a Vietnam vet and probably the best man i have ever met. Throughout my childhood and being an adult he had an impact on me. RIP Uncle! Ill see you again!
I had a old man i'd go visit as a kid just like in the video sitting on the porch swing. And it's 40 years later and I still think about him to this day. Rip Mr. Dunn.
It reminds me of me a little when I grew up I loved going and sitting with seniors and not grandparents but lonely old people and I loved sitting and listening to their stories
I am originally from the hood of Battle Creek, Michigan but finished growing up in country and down in Middle Tennessee... I can connect with anyone. The only divisions are the ones we allow. Those of us who speak the language of music (I am a guitarist and lyricist), we learn to put those differences aside and respect the truths of others put into music.
Same here. A 67 year old white woman. This song came from a true event in the singer's life. It goes to show how much we have together than the negativity that separates some. I watch Black Pegasus reactions to songs. It's the real deal. This song always makes me cry. Because the song is true and so emotional because I can feel it coming through the lyrics and the voice.
Believe ~ Brooks and Dunn Don't take the Girl ~ Tim McGraw Blue aint your Color ~ Kieth Urban Have any of friends that say they don't like country.....play these songs. They get me in the feels Every Time!!!!!!
Craig Morgan's song he wrote about his son Father, my Son and The Holy Ghost and the one called "Almost Home" makes me cry, makes me feel homesick or something I can't describe. It always gets me.
So glad to hear someone that doesn't get caught up in the division that is perpetrated to keep people fighting each other for superficial differences. We need a whole lot more of that. ❤
I appreciate your voicing the love you have for "people" because the MSM is the one pushing this division on us. I grew up with lovely black men and women and ugly black men and women and beautiful white/nonblack men and women and ugly white/nonblack men and women. It's all inside us and not the surface that makes us beautiful or ugly. We need to look at each person individually and stop grouping a whole group by what someone is doing. I love seeing younger men and women appreciating the music and literature of generations past, even those long before me and I'm pretty old...:) May GOD's blessings be on you both and your families, keep sending the love out cause this world needs it so badly. GOD wants us to love each other and I will be proud to one day welcome all my brothers and sisters into my arms as one who loves GOD too...
This is one of the most beautiful songs. Real emotions. Real life. And this is a true story. Mr Wrigley really was important to Ronnie Dunn as a boy and young man.
My mom was a minister and we sang as a family and I have sang and played instruments my whole life which started in the church but i love and have dabbled in all genres but country is my favorite ❤. Thanks for doing this one
It's amazing how music and the songs you love when you're younger hit much differently when you're older. Songs like this wouldn't have been an interest when I was younger but now......as I'm on the backside of life these songs hit hard and mean so much.
Oh my goodness I love this song 🎶 it makes me humbled to hear this song ❤Thank You so much for sharing. And spreading the Love in the Spirit to all of Us. Keep up the amazing music you bring us ❤Love you,@72years old ❤😘😇🙏❤️
My middle son when he was little he would have a tear come down his face when he would watch this video. He was 6 or 6. Hes 27 now. This song still touches him. Me too. Im tearing up now
Chills every time!!!! Ronnie Dunn sang & wrote this based on true life experiences of his! Awesome job guys! Thanks BP for sharin the luv of country! Krizz “Creature” one of my top 5 Jelly calibration! ❤🫶💋
This one is specia,. simple, just Believe. Love country storytelling, you have all categories in country, pop, rap, classic, rock, it will take you from crying in your feels and beer sad to kicking up your boots dancing and joyous.
Brooks and Dunn are one of if not the BEST country duos I've ever heard. I love their music and so did my parents when I was little. We always heard them on the radio or my mom would have their music on a cassette she recorded in the middle of the night. I just lost my dad a few months ago. So whenever I hear Brooks and Dunn's music I think of them. Because they both loved classic country music and Brooks and Dunn is one of the many great artists they loved.
It's OK to cry, I did. I'm a few months shy of 60 years old and have lost so many friends and family, this really hits me in the heart. Good job covering this song!
When you pointed out the words written in red I was so embarrassed that I never caught that meaning before and I have heard this so many times and I thank you for pointing that out 🌸🙏🏼 just subscribed! Love your reactions!!!
I found you through Black Pegasus. You should watch the video for "Love Can Build A Bridge", by the Judds. This is a classic that holds a message I'm sure you will respect. Transcending race or societal class to show and achieve love, respect, and mutual acceptance between each other. This is the sort of classic music that I think people should be reminded of today. We can all stand strong together. Not despite our differences, but because of them. Every day we get the opportunity to learn something new from someone else. And perhaps, we can share something new also.
I discovered this song in 2007 when my mother passed away, which tore me into! I played this on repeat and grieved for my broken heart but...at the same time, I was so happy that she was no longer in pain and in the arms of Jesus 🙏🏼🙌❤️ Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL song and great reaction guys 💯 Never be afraid to Believe OR say it out loud, GOD IS GOOD!!! ✝️🕊️

There is so much more to our lives here on Earth than chasing the next "high". I don't know how anyone gets through really hard times, especially the death of a loved one, without knowing the Lord and believing there is more than our brief time here.
I love how real you both are. Thank you for sharing your journeys of the classics with us. Music really can Transend and bring all peoples together. You don't have to like what other people believe in, music they listen to, God they worship but showing respect for each other and keeping and open minds, listen and learning from each other is what we need more of. Thanks to you both !
I love your reactions with BP I have seen a few with the 2 of you. You are very genuine and respectful. You seem like such a cool dude. Now I’m going to check out your channel.
This was one of my grandma's favorite songs. I cried to this song for years after she passed. I'm not religious by any means but I sing this song with all my heart simply because of her. ❤️
Ronnie Brooks is the singer on this. It is a true story. He loved this man and promised himself he would honor him by writing a song about him when he became famous. He stopped performing it live because it was too emotional for him. I adore this song and I love your reactions. Thank you both.
I truly thought I knew every Brooks & Dunn's # 1's.. I've seen them many times in concert. I love them... but I had never heard this song until about 2 yrs ago.. How did I miss it? Maybe raising 5 babies in the 90's/ early 2000's.. I tear up every time I hear this song.. I have never heard this live.. It would have stuck with me.
I love you gentlemen. Enjoy these musical journeys with you. We are way more alike than we know❤ thanks for good times sharing music and emotions. Y’all got me crying in this one. Love is a beautiful thing indeed. Much more success to you both. ✌🏻
I have watched this video dozens of times and I really don’t know of a time that I didn’t tear up listening to it. I’m 50 years old and this hits hard.
I found you because of Black Pegasus…(who is brilliant) and his endorsement =my endorsement. Subbed my friend, and as I watch your catalog, I realize BP was absolutely correct in plugging you. You are awesome… speaking from an old woman.. and when you said… nobody better hurt this little boy, you had a fan for life in me
No matter how many times I hear this song I still get chills. Every time! Love to see others like it and talk about how it makes them feel. Great reaction! Much love❤️
I used to work across the street from B&D's headquarters in Nashville. We were often treated to rehearsal sessions or encounters when we had to re-arrange our parking spaces when they were pulling the tour bus in or out onto the tiny street and cul-de-sac we shared. VERY nice people. They once donated autographed merchandise to one of our employee's child's school fundraiser.
I love brooks and dunn.....but dang im crying like a baby everytime. Much ❤ oh and it my business what anyone else does or believes, but i bow my head and raise my hands all the time. I BELIEVE GOD BLESS
Although I’ve followed Black Pegasus for years. You just earned my mad respect as well! Your heart is beautiful! If you want to see lots of love and small town goodness, you’re both welcome here on the farm in the mountains of TN! Hugs and love to you both! 🙏💜🙏
I came to watch you through the Black Pegasus channel and I was a totally a strict Country Music fan but you both have opened my eyes to listening to rap and rock and stuff. Thank you guys for starting a great channel.
It always brings the tears. I just can't help it. There's a lot of songs like that in Country. But there's a lot like that in every genre. Even rap. I'm 58 and no I wasn't raised w rap but as much as my Mom n Dad loved country they made sure we knew every genre of music of that time. Rock to classical. Raised my kids the same and that's whe. I learned about rap. My grandkids keep me caught up. So anyway i guess my point is people need to hear all kinds of music and you hear what your looking for in it.
It’s a strong story because it’s a true story for the man singing. Ronnie Dunn
SMH
We need to stop worrying about what people think and worry about what God thinks.💜💜💜
Even if you don't believe in God, you can still put differences aside and respect people. I am a man of God, yet several of my best friends are atheists, who don't let division in their life.
Yes. I work for an audience of One. ❤

Me same.
Many of us believe in Jesus and it should never be a shameful thing.

Arguably The BEST Country Duo...forever.
