I bawled like a baby the first time I heard this. It instantly brought me back to when I was about 6 or 7 and my mom always read the bible at night. I remember asking her why some of the words were red, and she said "Those are the really important ones. The ones God really wants us to pay attention to". I lost my mom early, so I really treasure the memories I have with her. This song gets me every time! I feel like Brooks and Dunn reached into my heart and wrote a song about it ❤
Great song. The last day my dad was alive. I stood all day beside his bed holding his hand to let him know he was not going through this alone as he lay in and out of conscientiousness. Mom was gone, so I had to fill in and and be by his side to the end. I wanted to tell him all about the good times we had, but didn't want to make he feel sad he was dying. He said the room was full of butterflies, so I was happy his last day was filled with peace and beauty. I miss my Dad.

Young man… As I’ve always told my son as grew up when he would get upset for dropping tears “There is no shame in a man showing tears dropping if his heart is touched to do it that way”… He and my daughters are raising their sons the same way. Men have every right to drop tears as much as women do.. And yes this story is from the singer’s childhood. First time seeing your channel and I'm praying that you'll always hold close to that soft place inside you that reacted to this song. Not everyone has that but special people do. Thanks for these few minutes.
It is a true story. The singer Ronnie Dunn had the friendship with the old man. Beautiful song, and I cried listening to it. I am 66 w m and had the same experience in my small town in Delaware. Mr George was a great black man that used to sit on a restaurant steps and I was like 9 years old and my mom used to work at the restaurant and I would sit there and Mr George would tell me stories about life. He had lost one of his legs years ago. This song really hits home to me.
Had Never quite thought of it that way. Believe you have a point there. Yes you are saying That's the kind of fellow if you saw you hungry. He gave you a piece of bread. I like that
At the beginning, you said this might make you cry, and I thought, just wait. This makes me cry every time. He can really sing it the words and video are something else. I love them.
The reason people cry when they here this awesome music is cause, In their own heart they had lost someone in thier personal life. And this music really makes you tear up. I know cause i do..
This is definitely his story of when the singer, Ronnie was younger. I cry every time I hear it . And a banger Brooks and Dunn is Boot Scootin Boogie. It's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Country music is famous for storytelling and this song tells an amazing story and the message is one that stays with you. I get teary eyed every time I hear it. I suggest checking out Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying"
Fast forward to now, 2023. There are WWII vets going to Arlington and crying, because they say they can't believe that the country they sacrificed for, and that their friends died for, has become what it is today.
Everyone cries! Still to this day I can’t hear it without bawling, my eyes out. Plus, Ronnie Dunn’s voice is deep haunting, beautiful. True story written by Ronnie Dunn and Craig Wiseman.. as the boy grew up, he was questioning his faith throughout.!
Sir it’s ok to let go, no need to apologize for tears! Sorry for your pain of loss I’m guessing that was where it took you. Could be wrong. Awesome reaction!
If you can listen to this song and not cry there is something wrong with you. Don't be afraid to shed tears. Everyone dies, we all bury loved ones and no one can escape from this reality if you live a life. I have watched dozens of reactions to this song and most cry. It means you're human. They were Country Music Duo of the Year multiple times along with so many other awards and had a huge career. Ronnie Dunn had his own "Mr. Wrigley" in his life and wrote this song from true heartfelt emotion. They do have some great upbeat songs too! Try "Boot Scootin' Boogie"!
Thank you for your reaction. Don't be afraid to show your emotions young man. It shows you have character and a true understanding of what it takes to be a great man.
I've heard this many times! And I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. ❤❤✌️ Btw, they have songs that won't make you cry. My Maria, NeonMoon, Boot Scootin Boogie. I've only be tuned into them for about five or so years. They are truly good.
The table has been set for you now. Great song. Fantastic delivery. Eternal message. Proper reaction!! You're human with a soul. Learn and proceed with Goodness and Grace that carried Mr. Wrigley thru life and beyond. Thank you, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks!
When I was a little girl, there was an old man who lived down the street who was my friend. He was gentle and kind to me and aways had a listening ear - especially when my dad was in Vietnam. It's such a shame nowadays that older folk are afraid to befriend children - people are always to quick to pin such innocent relationships as "inappropriate."
For me, it was the Wilsons next door, an elderly couple whose kids and grandkids lived far away. Mama would always send me over with “extras” from dinner or a big batch of cookies, and it would always turn into an adventure, lol. My grandparents did not live close either, so it was a good trade. They loved me, I loved them. Community is so important, we seem to have lost that these days.
My Parents was stationed over seas, when i was in 3rd, 4th, 5th grade. When my friends weren't out, I'd go talk to this older Black guy named Mr Ray Bowie. He talked about everything, he taught me things, wore a kankgoo before they were cool. He took my Christmas shopping for my parents. When we got back to the states, and we got in the age of the internet, I looked and looked for him but he had passed on. The song is amazing, but the video, is another level.
Good music comes from the soul no matter the race of the singer the type of music it just speaks to you and that’s why you had the reaction you did and it’s beautiful

This song hits me in the feels every time, even though I've watched and listened to it so many times.
I may not be Christian this song definitely touches the heart, no matter what faith you follow, it is a powerful spiritual song.
This is a true story ❤
I'm glad I didn't know that going in!
Well done. Your reaction was so sweet and loving. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. This song is one of THE BEST out there.
Ronnie Dunn wrote and performed this, it's a true story about his childhood.
Crying with you and i grew up with these guys
This song can only be sung by him, I think. Just his voice on this song, gets me every time.
Try not to cry indeed! Great authentic reaction young man! Loving your channel. Love from a fellow Texan!!!
I’m loving this channel as well… he is rooting out music that sends a MESSAGE… we need more of this in the world RIGHT NOW!
One of my favorite Brooks & Dunn sings! It gives me goosebumps! May we all believe!
The fact that it brought tears to your eyes speaks volumes about the kind of person you are.
Had Never quite thought of it that way. Believe you have a point there. Yes you are saying That's the kind of fellow if you saw you hungry. He gave you a piece of bread. I like that
That Sir is what you call going back to your own memories and making you feel your feelings. Ronnie Dunn has a great voice.
I know, right?! My BIL got saved with this song just before he left this world. Hallelujah 🙌🏽
At the beginning, you said this might make you cry, and I thought, just wait. This makes me cry every time. He can really sing it the words and video are something else. I love them.
One of my favorite all-time songs. Brings chills every time!
This is soo powerful..i think a masterpiece ❤
Crying is good for the soul. It's okay to let loose those tears. Loved your reaction. :)
So true!
The reason people cry when they here this awesome music is cause,
In their own heart they had lost someone in thier personal life.
And this music really makes you tear up.
I know cause i do..
This is definitely his story of when the singer, Ronnie was younger. I cry every time I hear it .
And a banger Brooks and Dunn is Boot Scootin Boogie. It's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was the third time I visited your channel. Your reaction to the Brooks & Dunn song made me decide to stick around.
Everything song they have is awesome! This one just happens to be my favorite.
I’ve always loved this song. Great reaction! And hey … it’s okay to cry. Much love ❤️
I have been listening to this song for decades and i still cry when i hear it... Trust and believe that it's written to move the soul...
I love this song and I cry every time I hear it- so beautiful !
What’s so beautiful is each other being willing to open their hearts and hear what everyone is singing about! We all bleed red!
This song gets me EVERY TIME I HEAR IT! The tears just flow! There's no shame in these tears!
God loves you. And I love you. You have a great heart. We need more of you.
He is singing a true song.
It is about Ronny Dunns life .
I have heard this song a million times, and still cry every time ❤❤❤❤
Takes you to another place when it's sang from the heart
If you can listen to this song and not cry there is something wrong with you. Don't be afraid to shed tears. Everyone dies, we all bury loved ones and no one can escape from this reality if you live a life. I have watched dozens of reactions to this song and most cry. It means you're human. They were Country Music Duo of the Year multiple times along with so many other awards and had a huge career. Ronnie Dunn had his own "Mr. Wrigley" in his life and wrote this song from true heartfelt emotion. They do have some great upbeat songs too! Try "Boot Scootin' Boogie"!
dude,,,this one hits hard.

The beautify of Country music is not only in the last of true musicianship, but real life.

This song always gets me emotional...just so beautiful. Your reaction was what Ronnie had in mind when he sang this one !!!!
It's his true story of him as a boy.
This song touches the heart because it touches the soul. Truth does that. That’s what triggers the tears. It’s simple, my friend.

Beautiful reaction ❤️
Thank you so much 😀
I can’t! I’m literally spilling tears down my face. What a touching song
I agree with you 100 percent!
