    What are you doing on the side with that Red button! I can't find any directions about that! but my generator wont send power to the outlets without resetting it! why!

    Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
    Now, I have a question for you?
    Did you have to modify the wiring (ground) in your gen prior to hooking it up to your panel?
    I'd appreciate your response.
    Thanks!

    • @ChallengeTheBuild
      @ChallengeTheBuild  Рік тому +1

      No modifications to the ground, however I should drive a ground rod at the generator location and then ground the generator to the ground rod for added safety, I just haven't done it yet.. It works great, and LOVE the remote start feature 😁. Good luck be safe and thanks for watching and commenting. I greatly appreciate the feedback. 👍

    Nice video. I've noticed a lot of people put their generators in sheds boxes insulated Etc. I have a very large solar system I use a generator to charge my batteries when we have overcast days. I find that leaving your generator in a shed enclosed area shortens its life it creates too much heat.
    What are your thoughts?

    • @ChallengeTheBuild
      @ChallengeTheBuild  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for the feedback, as far as keeping it in the enclosure considering it spends all it's time outside I look at it as protecting the investment. Now as far as shortening the life span I am sure the added heat doesn't help but with routine maintenance I am sure it will perform as it should for a quite a while. Figure it only runs for generally short time periods every so often for me so heat may not be an issue BUT maybe a 12hr run with a power outage, that may be a different situation...🤷‍♂️. Thanks again for watching and commenting...👍

      Same here. Need a generator to juice up my battery packs if I'm without sun for 4 or 5 days. Good to hear about the workout you've given it and performance. I'll be using propane to avoid stale gas issues as much as possible since it's not going to likely run much other than maintenance runs and won't need to run too long when it does. Can't seem to find anyone that's been running them on propane. Be nice to just know there's not issues.

      @@beebop9808 we desperately need to change out our batteries they're well over 7 to 8 years old now. So I'm running generator more often than I should need to.
      Since this video I have put my generator in a enclosed area with a lot of ventilation. I also have a fan pointing at the generator runs off of its own power. When generators running.
      I generally run generator on gas because you get more power we have tried propane though and it seems to run a little less hot and a little quieter. It seems to have ran about the same as a can of gas. Although from my understanding it will not last as long if you do purely propane.
      Either way it sounds like you have a pretty good solar system. I'm pretty proud of mine it's just we definitely need new batteries at this point we definitely run the hell out of our generator.

      @@mr.hemiroids794 Yeah those batteries are a painful pill to swallow. Don't seem to be getting any cheaper lately except for some of the small 12v packs that are useless on larger systems IMO.
      If you're into DIY and follow those circles, I'll put in a plug for Amy Wan. She seriously hooked me up recently on 48 A Grade 304ah EVE matched cells. Buss bars and separators delivered for just over $5k. Can't beat that with a stick.

      Just buy bigger...😁... I actually wish I bought the next size up for how I use it, I really could use a little bit larger generator. The remote start is awesome! I love the remote... Great generator! I have changed the oil and a spark plug, otherwise no issues yet. Good luck on making the decision 👍.

    Is the generator output pure sine or modified

    • @ChallengeTheBuild
      @ChallengeTheBuild  6 місяців тому

      The only thing I have done since posting this video is change the oil twice and put a new spark plug in, also turned up the governor for a specific piece of equipment I needed to run for a short time, other then that everything is running as normal with no issues and or complaints. It's a solid unit...

    What's the run time on a full tank of gas.And is it safe to add 3 gallons of gas while the generator is running so you don't have to turn it back on ?

      Check out my 10 frequently Asked questions video here ua-cam.com/video/yyhjhib5x5E/v-deo.html , and as far as filling it while running? You could do it however it's very dangerous and I am not recommending you do it. Make sure to read the manufacturer's user manual. 👍

      🤔Phew I'm not sure... I am sure there's away but I don't have an answer. I am more curious as to why the need? Are you trying to regulate voltage? Or Amperage? Or both..? And for what? 😂😂🤷‍♂️

      Ah... My brain goes to using a large surge protector, something you would wire into a main panel or something like that....I personally have not had any problems running any of my welders or plasma cutters and most of them have lcd displays and such but in regards to smaller electronics such as computers and things like that I have no knowledge... @@ChallengeTheBuildwhat about now? Any problems? Still like it? I’m thinking about buying this exact one. Today is 7-19-24

    • @ChallengeTheBuild
      @ChallengeTheBuild  Місяць тому

      @joshmason7037 I would definitely buy another one... I have had zero problems with mine, LOVE THE REMOTE START, and we just lost power for about 14 hours this week due to a serve storm. I had my fridge, tv, dvd player, ps4, two fans and two ac units (one at 13amps) running for most of the outage. (I still need to get a transfer switch installed in my house). Depending on current load of the generator she can be a little thirsty but Im okay with that because it just works. I think Ive done 3-4 oil changes on it and every time I do an oil change I also just replace the spark (cheap insurance) I have noticed it sometimes runs a little rich due to the automatic choke feature. Otherwise I can't say anything bad about it... If you end up buying one I can only hope you have the same experience. I still use this exactly the same way in my garage for running my welders and milling machine and it just keeps on going.. Hope this helps... Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙

      @@ChallengeTheBuild ok gotcha. Good deal. I actually have a 120volt inverter generator I use now for backup for my whole house. Wired it in my main panel and it runs all 120 volt stuff including small window AC. I flip off all my 240 volt breakers when using it. Im just needing a 240 volt generator for my hot water heater and electric stove. I’ll hook it up just to heat water up and cook on stove top and then kill it and hook my inverter back up. Thanks for the reply
