I agree with your assessment. Of the PDP line, the PDP-F is my favorite. That Walter PPQ with the camo slide and Apex trigger looks amazing. Good video as always. Thank you for the mention. God bless.

I have both and if you’re not going to get the pdp pro sd compact then no going from the PPQ m2 compact to the regular pdp compact it’s not worth it but it’s definitely worth it if you go with the pdp pro sd

Long time PPQ M2 owner here. If you're not interested in an optic I see no reason to spend the money on the "upgraded" PDP.

Love the trigger on the ppq.

This video was made for me. I've had a ppq for several years now and of course I love it. I've been looking hard at upgrading to a pdp but now you have me thinking twice.

Still think the ppq has a better look to it. Get the slide milled for a direct fit optic, and you'll be all set

The PPQ and the PDP are grater firearms. However, I purchased the Walther Q4 Steel Frame.

I bought a Creed about 5 years ago and I am keeping it, trigger is awesome ...

Crazy isn't it? The Creed was a PPX do over and Walther's low end 9mm. For a hammer fired pistol the trigger is insanely good. I own lots of Walthers and the Creed is the best shooting one of all.

I got the pdp compact when they offered the free ameriglow red dot deal. Honestly between the ergonomics, trigger, slide serrations, and red dot cut I love this thing. If I could go back I would’ve bought it sooner! The only negative is training my fat mits to not ride that long slide stop

I own 2 ppq’s (4” 40s&w m2, 5” 9mm m2), 2 pdp’s (4” f-series, 5” compact), and a p99 AS 9mm. Walther makes excellent handguns. I prefer the slimmer slide of the ppq but everything else on the pdp. All Walther really had to do was make a ppq m3 that had the optics cut and grip of the PDP and it would have been the perfect handgun. The slide serrations are nice but a bit overrated. The slide is so thick on the PDP that Walther can make a 40 s&w, 10mm, and 45 acp version if they wanted. But knowing Walther they are stuck on 9mm because that’s what everyone wants apparently. That’s why I carry my fn 510 tactical most of the time, I prefer 10mm.

I absolutely agree with putting an optic cut on the ppq and calling it a day. It's also a shame all of these manufacturers are getting away from 40 and 45. Even though the 9mm market is bigger there's still a huge market for other calibers. Plus they got rid of there sub compact line which I thought was fantastic. I'm am HK guy but walther is my 2nd favorite. At least HK didn't get away from their variety with all the size pistols and calibers they offer.

I traded my PDP full size for a HK VP 40 with comp. I still have my PPQ.

I have a Creed, PPQ and the PDP. I started with the PPS as my first gun which I still carry. These are all excellent handguns. The ergonomics on all are great. I think that the triggers are second to none. In my opinion the PDP is a shade better than the PPQ mostly because of the ability to mount a red dot. I haven’t got the F but I think it is a step up from the PDP because of the grip and how my hand works with the trigger plus the slide is easier to rack.
    You do great videos!

I had the Navy version of the PPQ years back, great gun! I also added the Apex flatty to it along with a lighter trigger return spring, Trijicon HD sights and some Talon Grips. The only reason I traded it off was because I have an original full size M&P that was so similar, but I shot the the Smith slightly better, I think mostly because of bore axis. Plus, I didn’t like that you have to change out the recoil spring on the PPQ if you wanted to run a suppressor on it. I know, nit picking. I really want to add a PDP to the arsenal, may have to consider the F model. I’m secure in my manhood, not turned away by the female moniker.

I like that PDPF grip frame better than the PPQ but the slide on it seems chunky even compared to the PPQ

Not saying these aren't quality firearms. They are. However, having owned 3 PPQ's and I still own a PPS. In my opinion, these guns have an unbelievable high bore of axis. I think Glock pistols are snappy and Walther guns are even more so. However, I think the PPS is very shootable and that's why I kept that in the collection. Out of the 3 PPQ's that I owned, I had 2 extractors failed. Left me a bad taste and I haven't owned a full size Walther ever since. The ergos on the PDP are amazing but still can't get over that mountain of a bore axis. I'll stick with a better bore axis in my Shadow Systems, CZ, FN, or Beretta. Great video and great comparison. Good video for those that like Walther.

The PPQ and first gen P99s were such nice looking guns. Don't know why they felt the need to uglify it with the PDP.

Crazy what you pointed out about the thickness at back of new Walter. Hk vp9 was same way for me hitting my thumb knuckle , never experienced that before. Was telling my gf last night what a nice gun the vp9 is except that thick azz top of frame? Plus the paddle mag release was nice , but my trigger finger always wanted to ride the bottom of the trigger guard and was weird, lol. I'm sure with more training I would of been alright but still the top of that frame under the slide in back knocking my thumb knuckle was not feeling good, sold it to soon, probably should of kept it .....grrrr
Love my ppq, its a tack driver, snipers gun like TNP says. Great video thx!

I agree with you. It was a bit over hyped when it first came out but good firearm. Wonder if they'll make 5 inch PDP-F. I would like to get the new dynamic trigger, but they sell out quickly on the Walther site. Nice review! 👍🏻
