      I don't understand the point, I guess. I only own 4 pistols. (But more rifles...lol). 1st of all, I'm a super curious type. I "wonder" everything. I have a Glock 21, Ruger Service Six .357 mag with upgraded sights and grips, .44 Ruger black powder Old Army, and a Walther PPS .40 S&W. My most accurate shooting is with the Glock 21. All of the sights on all three except the Walther are pretty fine. I bought the Walther specifically as a Conceal Carry. When I first looked through the sights I freaked out! Said to myself; "How can this be accurate?" Seems like a football field worth of play. Just like Justin was describing. (To be fair, I haven't shot it as much as the Glock by a longshot so...). But I kind of suck with the Walther. So, that's kind of disappointing. If at all possible I'd like to change out the rear sight. But I haven't investigated possibilities, if there are any.

    Ive always been on the fence about the PPQ , I know its a great handgun but it just never won me over so I opted to carry the CZ-P10C and I loved it and it also has a fantastic out of the box trigger for a striker handgun . I actually prefered the P-10C's trigger , its ergonomics and low bore axis over the PPQ . But then I saw the Walther PDP at my local FFL and was immediatly drawn to it . I asked if I could see it and if they mind if I dry fired the trigger . The very first thing about the PDP that really stood out for me is that excellent new grip texture I really like what Walther has done with the grip and it looks good at first glance the PDP has that custom stipple job look , I really like the design of the slide its really easy to rack the slide from anywhere . The trigger is really nice but not mind blowing like many people hype it up to be . The PDP's trigger is more on par to CZ's P10 trigger now , just my opinion . I really like that Walther opted to make the PDP compatible with Glock aftermarket sights which is a huge plus in my book . Aquiring extra Magazines , after market barrels , extended mag releases etc etc , are going to be convient conserding the cross compatibility the PDP had to the PPQ , good thinkinh Walther . Idk its been over 8 years since Ive bought anything from Walther but after I handled the PDP I just had to have it . I think its going to be my new cc

I'm not in the market for another compact/medium carry gun (currently carry a P10c or Walther .45 or CZ P01/PCR) but if I was this would likely be it. It'd also likely be the next polymer framed gun I'd buy if I was going that way. I like the aesthetics of the PPQ better tho. It is awesome that Walther listened to the customer and rectified every single "drawback" on the PPQ. The PDP has a flattened slide, deep and extruding slide serrations for easier slide racking and a better grip texture. Most important, the PDP keeps the "iron sights" when using a red dot and it takes Glock sites. In my eyes and experience, the PDP is the very best polymer handgun on the market:

    The Walther pdp is awesome. The slide is smooth, the takedown is probable the best takedown out of any pistols out there, the magazine release is nice and reliable, the mags drop out perfectly every time, and there’s no scratches on them. Even after a few range trips. My sig p365 just had to use the mags once to get them all scratched up. And I didn’t even drop them. It’s not a big deal tho, but still. Accuracy is on point. Grip texture is awesome, and it gives you a lot of real estate for holding it in place. You can see at the end of the slide on the left side. On top of the rail, you got that little plastic ledge. It’s for your left thumb to hold the gun down while shooting. Muzzle flip is pretty much eliminated that way. Also the angle of the grip is perfect. Presenting the gun gives me almost 100% perfect sight alignment every time. The slide lock release is perfect. Nice and long. I believe that the Walther pdp is the best pistol out there. I personally don’t own one. My dad does. I own a glock 19 gen 3 and a glock 48 mos. great guns, and I love them. But shooting the Walther is just perfect. And it’s not even hard to carry. I carry on my hip, and granted, just wearing a t-shirt won’t cut it this way. But with an over shirt it’s perfect. The clip & carry holster for it from Amazon is perfect. For like $30, you can’t get better. I believe it also accommodates for a red dot. I have that problem with my 48 mos. I just put a red dot on it, and my holster won’t fit anymore. I paid like $50 for it. I could cut it a bit, but still. I’d rather just buy a different holster that also accommodates for a light. Sorry for the rant. If you get a Walther pdp and a walther pps m2, that would be the best duo in my opinion. You could probably go for a sig p320 xcompact or xcarry along side the p365 sas, and that would probably be the perfect duo, but you can’t go wrong with the Walthers. They just look right.

    Thank you for making this details oriented video. Enjoyed every minute of it, and it fulfilled my curiosity about the difference between PPQ and PDP. Honestly, from what I've learned, the biggest difference between these two models is the red dot ready feature, and that's a $100 price difference associated with. I probably will cease my desire to change my PPQ M2 to PDP, since the parts are also interchangeable between these two models...

    • @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
      @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 Рік тому

      Yeah unless you really want a red dot, I don't see the point in upgrading to the PDP. You end up with a much bulkier slide that probably doesn't carry as well.

    Nice that you verified my theory of interchangeable slides, I figured that would be the case. I’m so glad Walther didn’t screw with the internals much because this is already a very proven and reliable design so I’m glad they kept what we love about the PPQ and just took care of a few common complaints people had (rear sight stays in place with optic, more aggressive grip texture). Gotta say I still like the looks of the PPQ better although the PDP definitely has that more aggressive look. Either way, I need a 4” compact gun to compliment my Q5 I think. If I can find a ppq for cheap now this might be the answer. Also thank goodness they didn’t change the magazine I love magazine compatibility.

Every year golf club makers come out with the newest greatest clubs ever that will make your game even better. The only thing that improves a game is lessons and practice not new clubs. The PPQ is going to do anything you need it to provided your up to the task. For that matter so is the Taurus G3.

    Hi great video and as usual very informative. One question I have is that some other reviewers have said that the early takeup on the trigger is smoother and the break is more pronounced. I have a PPQ in 45ACP and I love it but would not use it for home defense because the break is less pronounced than other guns and too easy for me to go past the break when staging the trigger. Where my VP9 and G17 have far more pronounced breaks. I was hoping the PDP was as described by other reviewers as that might make it a more acceptable home defense handgun but sounds like you did to see any difference between the PPQ and PDP Triggers.

    I recently picked up this pistol and surprisingly the best 5 round groups I got with it at 10 yards were with Fiocchi 115 Gr JHP, it was .67 inches. Remington UMC G&W box gave me a 1 inch group and Winchester White Box gave me a 1 1/2 inch group. Go figure the cheapest ammo shot the best out of my pistol. And all of them have good expansion and penetration out of 4 inch barrels.
