Automobilista 2 looks unbelievers in VR too!
Once I get some better hardware I want to try it out as well.
Too bad the physics are still on Project Cars 2.5 mode.
@@ACFUN34 it’s not as bad as it once was though. There have been some major physics updates which have made a much more positive impact on the physics.
But yes, you can definitely tell the source for the physics (not so much now - some cars are much much better too, whereas others not so much)
@@lpcoolee I agree. I find the Formula Junior Vintage the best car to drive in AMS2. It feels more like Formula RSS 1970 V8 in AC.
if you put dirt rally 2.0 on your list of games with bad graphics you must have set it up wrong. dirt rally 2.0 is beautiful in vr.
also, now you have vr you need to buy automobilista 2 and assetto corsa. you should also try rbr rsf.
Exactly this
I put every game I tried on bad graphics because of the big pixels of the Meta Quest 2...Which for me feels like I'm wearing a cathode ray tube tv on my head. The games with cartoony graphics with more colors than textures from the VR library were enjoyable and the pixels were way less noticeable.
Really,i just thought that its just bad.
Actually asseto corsa look way better than DR2 in Quest2.
Can you give me a link or something to fix it?
@@tkdmp5698 there is a program called FPSVR, get that & start monitoring the performance graphs in heavy graphical situations in the game as you slowly turn settings up to see what performance vs visual impact they have, welcome to PC gaming
The upscaling DLSS , the compression of the headset make the things blurry and pixelated . By me on Reverb G2 and RTX 4090 the graphics looks better than on monitor (34 inch 3800x1440 Alinenware ). For VR you just need best possible hardware and a headset with native display port to get best picture possible. Quest 3 also can do the job but have a bit more latency.
Right now this is the headset I have at my disposal, but hopefully in the future I will be able to get a newer one and also upgrade my rig. I see the potential so I definitely want to try this again.
Agreed, vr is badass 👍
It's extremely helpful and made my lines very smooth. Also, it helps to better visualize the car's dimensions.
You are using a Quest 2, you should have bought the Quest 3 which graphically is way better.
I wish I could but I'm low on budget rn.😅 As said in the video, I borrowed this Meta Quest 2 from a friend just to test the experience.
Fair enough, but yeah, the Quest 3 is WAY better :)
it's not a massive uograde
@@Reulorics I don’t think you’re right. I’ve owned both, and the Q3 (imo) is a lot better.
But, as I said, that’s just my opinion.
Yes, Q3 is far better than Q2 however Q3 is still pretty low rez and budget quality compared to what else is out there but for standalone and price, Q3 is a pretty good headset
I would suggest setting horizon level in the VR settings menu. It changes A LOT, and makes you much less motion sick. I have countless hours in DR2.0 with VR, but felt kinda sick with this setting in OFF.
I'm still struggling to lock 60hz in the game, trying a lot of settings with the HP Reverb G2, but it's a beta, so hoping for some improvements down the road.
After a few hours, I was ok with the motion sickness. But I just wanted to point it out for someone who is trying this for the first time. It took me by surprise really, and I've been dizzy for hours after the first races haha.
Are you using a Quest 2 in this video???? You need a better VR headset than a Quest 2.
I do agree the graphics are kind of washed out and not the clearest. I have a Quest 3 which is much better with racing games.
Anyway, thanks for the video. Take care.
Thanks, you too! I'm hoping to get a better headset sometime in the future. But for now, this is what I had at my disposal.
@@noxnovaYT Get the Pico Neo 3 Link. It destroys the Quest 3 . The Pico Neo 3 link has a display port connection and is a Steam VR native headset. Because of the display port you get 0 compression artifacts and half the latency of a streaming headset like Quest 2 or 3.
@@ACFUN34Yep Quest 3 is pretty bad in PCVR.
OMG 2024 looks like dirt rally 1.0 or even RBR, well done
Without VR at max settings, some stages look pretty good. :D
@@noxnovaYT OK, this it how it works nowadays, they publish a beta version at the beginning but when they keep improving it it might be ok 🤷 Bad do I need a season Pass for getting updates?
@@dubtube6691 From what I know no. Updates are free for everybody who bought the game. Only to get additional content like liveries, cars or locations you will need the season pass.
I own Quest 3 and can confirm nothing will look as clear as it does on a monitor because Meta decided to use compression on any signal coming into the headset, wired or wireless... Its sad but at least Quest 3 displays and lenses are very decent for SIMgaming. When your budget allows definately give it a try. Gaming on single screen is taking away a lot of fun from SIMgaming.
I'm looking forward to that!
That`s why i got a Pico Neo 3 Link with DP connection. It destroys the Quest 3 !
You have to get a quest 3, it's so much better looking with the pancake lenses and higher resolution.
Hi- quest3 owner here: the VR is a blurry mess.
I'm on a low budget rn, but I will definitely try again when I get a newer headset. Or maybe some companies will see this video and send one for review haha. Please do it, thx! 😁
better to ugrade to a bigscreen beyond at this moment in time or if hou dont mind a large headset u could go a pimax.
I'm hoping to get one somewhere in the future. But right now I have a 27 inch monitor, put closer, and with the light out, makes for a pretty immersive experience.
Userbenchmark is... it's not the best for AMD performance measurements, because they seem to have a hate boner lol.
Haha, I just wanted to see some numbers to check how different my rig may be compared to the one they tested. 😁
With the Quest 3, you stop seeing the individual pixels on PCVR (Quest native games still largely look like ass though).
I'm hoping to be able to try one soon.
You would need a 4080-4090 and an expensive CPU at least to run on high-ultra settings on this game right now. There is a reddit post where people share their experiences on Ea wrc vr. I have a amd 5800x3D, 32GB of ram, 3080ti, with the Hp reverb G2 and I have to set the advanced graphics to low and tweak the hell of the game in order to be playable.
Based on dirt 2, that's just going to be the way it always is sadly.
i have almost the same setup as you (5900x, 32gb ram, rtx3080 ti, hp reverb g2) and i am very hesitant to buy the game. i only play in vr, and from what i hear this looks a LOT worse than dirt rally 2.0. even with a 4090 and ultra settings it apparently still looks worse than dr2.0, very blurry etc.
if you are able to get the game looking similar to dr2.0, please let me know :)
but for now i am holding off on purchasing.
@@socks2441 I definitely say don't get it unless you want to play it on the monitor. I also don't think it's really an improvement from dirt rally 2
@@socks24415800x3dx 4070ti PICO 4 here…. Dirt 2.0 is stunning beautiful and is running very smooth. In would not recommend buying ea Sports Wrc atm at all for playing in VR. I would love to play it bin VR, because I really enjoy it….but it needs work… if… they can pull it off at all
As I pointed out in the video, I could run it at almost ultra settings with my rig. Even so, trees and foliage would look extremely blurry even on the monitor.
I like triple screens more. This game with VR puts me too far back in the car and I can't get close enough even with the "move camera" keybinds :/
Triple screens are also a very good and immersive option. 💯
Oh so you were the one on reddit talking about this? Lol
I'm not using Reddit, so probably not haha. I just happen to arrive there from time to time when looking for something on Google.
Sounds like someone needs a Pimax Crystal Light.
Haha, true!
I have ea wrc on epic and can't get vr to work 😢
I could run it at almost at ultra with the VR at 80hz, but there is something wrong with the trees and foliage, they look very blurry.
Use fixed horizon in game, bump up the bitrate slightly and use the highest resolution at 72hz in the Meta Link app
Also FOV wants to be around 0.85x0.80
I have a 3070ti and it runs and looks great
Will try this, thx! With 80hz if I bumped the resolution even one pip it started lagging like crazy. 😅
The BIG pixels thing is a WRC issue not a headest issue..
see other peoples reviews with different head sets..
Yes, the game was also a bit blurry, especially on the foliage and trees. But as I said in the video, I also tried other games and I could see the pixels everywhere. Everyone has different eyesight so this explains it.
VR and motion blur on ? crazy
When using the VR I didn't have motion blur on. The settings you see at 7:05 are the ones I normally use when playing on the monitor, which I made a reference about.
@@noxnovaYT :) ok
2 big problems and one small one: First big problem is EA Sports WRC... it's really really bad in VR. I don't think it will ever come close to Dirt 2.0 and VR, but I really hope it does.
2nd problem is quest 2. it's just not good enough anymore.
The other small problem is the combination of your system and the fact that you have no experience with VR. You just don't have a 4090 and a monster CPU where you can (almost always) just get started without having to adjust everything forever.
Without a monster system, you'll be forced to learn how others do it.
Right now, yes, it's not very good looking and puts a lot of strain on the eyes. But since this is a beta, I hope to see some improvement until the release version.
I know this headset it's not the best but it's what I had at my disposal for the moment. When the release version comes out, hopefully, I could get my hands on a newer headset.
Even with my PC config, I could almost run everything at Ultra with 80hz refresh rate. But yeah, having higher specs would definitely make everything easier, set everything on ultra and that's it haha.
@@noxnovaYT CPU time and GPU time should show you why it strains your eyes... dirt 2.0 in ulltra with your system is also hard to imagine... even if the Quest 2 doesn't have that many pixels.
As I said... without a 4090 and monster CPU you have to learn how to run it... I'm talking about a lot of hours and learning effects...
@noxnovaYT, I suspect it's not near as good as Dirt Rally 2.0 VR because of this: "Previous VR implementations (like those seen in DiRT Rally and DiRT Rally 2.0) were built with the help of external partners, whereas for EA SPORTS™ WRC, Codemasters have been developing VR in-house for the first time."
WRC website.
Quest 2 has never been good for sim racing especially rally sims! I’d argue it’s the worst headset made from 2020 onwards for sim racing. Before the Q2 defenders come at me, I bought a Q2 at launch and I loved it for non sim racing games via virtual desktop, but for sim racing whether link cable or VD it’s really really bad!
It's the only VR headset I tried so far, and for games that try to mimic realistic graphics, they kinda' feel blurry to me because of the big pixels the Meta Quest 2 screen has.
The games inside the VR library with cartoony graphics and more colors than textures, are very enjoyable.
Using Virtual Desktop make the graphics A LOT better, thank me later :P
What runtime are you using? VDXR wasn't working but SteamVR runtime in Virtual Desktop did NOT look any better
@@proxlamuz4591 i use VDXR
@@proxlamuz4591 I had no issues with VDXR as long as 3d location reveal is off in game menu and openxr toolkit disabled
Hi, can you pls elaborate?
Thanks for the tip! Will try.
I think you are a beginner with VR because wrc in VR is crap. This official VR mod is really bad. Bad performances, bad graphics very pixelated, not working with virtual desktop, not working with OpenXR Toolkit...
It's better to use the universal UEVR mod...
Since this is just a beta version, we can overlook some things. Until the release version, I'm sure further improvements will be made.
@@noxnovaYT yes, maybe for the next WRC game.... 🙃
How does EA SPORTS WRC in VR feels to you so far? 👍? or 👎?
I would rather play flat that than Q2.....horrible headset.
I also chose the monitor over VR for now.
@@noxnovaYTwhat headset you use?
