Brownsville KA: How A Firefighter Became The Greatest Rapper Ever.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 кві 2024
- First time I came across KA was back in 2012. I heard 50 Cent on the radio mention he wanted to sign an artist named "KA" from Brooklyn.
I did my googles, and the rest was history.

men of culture gather here.
I'm going to be doing this till i'm old and wrinkly. I love this rap shit.
@@ThatDopeShttt and i hope you make content that long or as long as you enjoy it. we love this like you do.
I'm here
@@YourGenericBrownGuy Let's goooooo bro‼Thank you for joining in🫡
Men of culture indeed.
These days, one of the most important things a man should do is find his TRIBE.
Grief Pedigree is without a doubt one of the greatest hip hop albums ever
Yessir 🫡
Undoubtably
And they only got better too, I swear!
Ah you are here as well
@EsperLeon730 Grief Pedigree is still my fav. Maybe I'm biased cuz it's the first Ka project I heard. I love the beats on it. Everything he drops is fire.
I feel like ka has the kind of voice that just demands your respect when you hear it. he could be saying the corniest thing but he delivers with this heavy forboding tone and just absolute sincerity that you cant help but feel it in your soul. like hell yeah man this time does belong to us. that is why we call them ours
My thing with Ka tho, he doesn't waste a single word...
Days With Doctor Yen Lo carried me through some dark days. Thank You KA🙏🏿.
I still believe that is one of the greatest albums I have ever heard.
I’m a lifelong hip hop head from LA and have always listened to east coast rappers. Sean Price, Canibal Ox, and DOOM have been my favorites since my early teens. First heard Roc Marci on Wu Tang think differently in 2005 I was 13 and been a fan since.
That being said I can’t believe I’ve never heard of KA.
Thanks for the introduction. About to roll some cali exotics and listen to his albums in order 🙏🏾
Man I appreciate that more than you know G‼ Salute to you and stay blessed 🫡
Same. I’m older so I first caught wind of ROC when Pete Rock had The U.N roc spit bars on Cake and Nothing Lesser. I never knew Ka was apart of Natural Elements I had the Lyricist Lounge album, I first heard Ka on Gza firehouse. 🫡
Ka is really one of them that will be written about and studied for years. I feel like there has been an entire drumless movement and I've always thought Ka as the one leading the charge. I didn't realize how prolific he also was as a producer though. Well done on another dope video 💯
He essentially is the forefather of little, to no percussion(Gangsta Mac is in that conversation as well). Boldy , Fahim, Craven etc are decedents of KA's artistry imo. 🫡
Solid piece…KA is a real wordsmith, an intelligent brother. True artistry.✌🏾
Appreciate you‼ You know what it is 🫡
Glad you shined some light on KA
He's a 🐐
What's your favorite record from him?
@@ThatDopeShttt orphius
Ka is def up there with "your favorite rapper's, favorite rapper". Great video!
I couldn't say it any better, thats a FACT. His music got me through some toughhhh times to‼
THANK YOU ‼‼
@@josephmegeed1879 Salute to you bro 🫡, Rome Streetz reminds me a lot of mobb deep, I will be doing more vids on Griselda‼
I see a Ka video and I'm here, haven't even finished it yet but I'm glad to see more people talk about him. This is my GOAT
Ka and DMX being two sides of the same coin is something I never paid attention to until now. Two of my all time favorites are the perfect description of duality
Well said, King 🫡
I've grown up in the south listening to southern rappers, and am not familiar with most of these rappers on your channel. That being said, your presentation and in depth explanation made me stay and watch the whole video. It makes me want to give KA a try. I'd love to see your channel grow, keep up the good work bro.
I must say, this comment put the biggest smile on my face. This is what keeps me going. I love talking rap shit with people from all walks of life. I really do appreciate those words, man. Thank you.
Imma have to put Honor Killed The Samurai as his best body of work. Overall, KA is an important, if not THE most important piece of today's underground sound renaissance in Hip Hop; him and Roc tbf. Great video, peace!
I couldn't imagine hip hop without KA. Peace to you king ‼
Got that reflective ass voice just reveals more with every listen. Crazy eye for detail. Arguably the greatest lyricist ever.
Ka is a genre unto himself imo . As much as I love hip hop from my favorites, what Ka does with his pen almost makes other people's bars seem juvenile in purpose . His writing is the best pure writing of rap I've ever heard . It's truly high brow gutter .
That said, 😢his music is not for recommending for many will only feel his instrumentals and tones are boring. Like Ka says on Day 70, " Respect due to select few tuning in " .
Orpheus and the Sirens is just a masterful execution of a concept .
🎯 like I always tell people when I talk about KA. I used to think NAS but KA uses bars you'd NEVER hear Nas ever use. NAS Lyrics is surface level compared to KA. The way he put those bars together he goes deeper than Nas
I feel like if you listen to KA with headphones on in a dark room, it's almost like a high I can't explain.
Ka one of the best to ever do it. Keep dropping content bro💪🏿
Thank you ‼‼
I appreciate that for real bro 🫡
idk why but him being a firefighter makes so much sense
KA Is The Textbook Definition Of Pure Brilliance
Well said king 🫡
The most 2 surprising parts is natural elements but then him being a firefighter lol thats dope
👨🏾🚒 + 🎤= 🔥
Sick video. KA deserves more listeners, just like you deserve more views and subs!
He does, indeed. 🫡🫡
Ka is an absolute genius and it would be quite an honor to meet him and have at least a 5-minute conversation with him. Sirens is my anthem. I respect Ka and billy woods for their mystique, wisdom, and constantly growing in the art. I hope they collab one day.
Love the production keep up the good work
Great content. KA is definitely a gem in this game his albums are inspirational.
Thx just subscribed. Glad im seeing more ppl show love to Ka he just might b the best now.
this video was necessary and I feel blessed it came up on my timeline. good shit, immediate sub
I appreciate you bro‼️
Gratitude
Man...Out in Cail and tought I was the only one who put KA in the GOAT category.
HIP HOP! great work as always bro it’s much appreciated. love

Needs to tour
excellent work. u should do some video essays on some of the og east coast rappers too. like king sun.
Should I take it back to Eric B and Rakim days?
@@ThatDopeShttt if its an artist that you feel passionate about, do it! personally, i like when you cover the underground people that not a lot of people have heard of. i had no idea who ka was, but i do like mobb deep & he gave me that vibe so now i have a lot of his catalogue to go though. love when you cover the lesser known artists that are great.
@@asdfxcvbn746 Not saying any names, but the next artist that will be up on here, is a decedent of mobb deep imo, and this artist has stated Prodigy is a big influence.🫡
@@ThatDopeShttt looking forward to it!
I read he used to run around with natural elements back in the 90's them dudes can spit but holy ish ka is next level 🔥 🔥 🔥
🫡 his pen is phenomenal

GREATEST ARTIST EVER.

I like the way Yu look at HipHop!!

PEACE..
Him and Stricklin should write a joint together. 🧑🚒🚒🔥
I've got a tattoo of this man. He is my favorute rapper. 🐐
It doesn't get any realer than that. Salute to you‼🫡
Part of me is upset I didn’t find Ka earlier and another part of me is sad I found him at all because he’s spoiled all other HipHop for me 😂 the stoic street poet
The universe was on your side 🫡
Wow
"me and the mic are like staff and shepherd"
His analogies/metaphors are second to none.
I love the biblical references.
The Roc Marci was actually “ We Do It” off the same album.
Good catch, I mixed the two up. Thank you for the correction. 🫡
This was dope.....oh shit i get the name 😮
I see what you did there 😏🫡
Thats absolutely true about the DMX comparison but to add on (please, I mean that totally respectfully) hear me out plz 🙏 I think the last comment was too long. When i was trying to say. KA also does the same as Nas but more complex than Nas lyrically. Like on illmatic when Nas can mentally bring you right in the gritty streets with him and have you feel like you are there. KA does that too. But the way Nas does it is one dimensional comparied to KA being layered in his approach in taking you to the scene. But in addition KA have what you explained with DMX ✅️ also that gift 🎁 like Nas being able to bring the listener right where he is mentally but KA's does it in a more complex way and emotional. You did a great job with you analysis of KA my #1 Hip hop artist/Poet. ❤ Salute 🫡 @That Dope Sh*t
Nice hook with the title.
Thank you‼
Cold facts & Iron age 🔥🔥🔥
Real Hip Hop real MC's Free Max B RIP Sean Price
Bruh the world needs to know abut Flames Dot Malik he is next up on some Stove God Cooks shit

People are going to catch up later peace upon them
Your bars are nothing to my wine cellar-ka
EVERY ALBUM IS KNOWLEDGE
VIRGIN ISLANDS PEACE ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿

conflicted is one of the best songs ever, its depressing that ka is as underground as he is.
It's funny because 50 Cent(who's as mainstream as you could be) is how I came across Ka's music back in 2012.
I was listening to the radio and he said he wanted to sign some a dude named "KA" from brooklyn. The rest was history.
The greatest rapper ever? Yes! Facts!
You know what it is‼🫡
Im suprised you didn't like Yen Lo that much, it's my second favorite Ka album behind Grief and slightly ahead of Samurai. I think it would have been easier to digest if the songs had actual names
I was listening to 'Day 1125' in the gym the other day and regretted that I said "it's not my favourite ka album" because the truth is, my favourite Ka album really does change depending on my mind state. 🫡
It's not necessarily my fav project of his but Day 81 and Day 93 are two of my favorite Ka tracks tho
He's aight. He took his lessons from J. Electronica.
Word?
what happened to your older videos.
Decided to change it up brother‼
I will be redoing some of the videos that people really liked from that channel. Peace to you 🫡
I'm going to post on my older channel for people to come here‼
Thats not Roy Jones Junior
Never heard of him
This isn't John Cena?
Seeing this I just know you made one on roc marci. So glad it's still real swordsman out here
🗡🫡 You know what it is bro‼‼
K RINO Is the greatest, but KA is great too
Only men of a high degree are here. This is sensational, thank you for acknowledging easily one of the best artist for a long while.
A living poet, word ❤️👊🏾

I appreciate that Jon‼‼🫡
Nothing and I mean nothing! Can top HONOR KILLED THE SAMURAI
So many people hold that album in such high regard ‼
@@ThatDopeShttt i challange you not to listen to it, win-win
'Grief Pedigree' holds a special place in my soul but my favourite album from KA changes like the weather ‼
Just is one of the greatest song/video combinations of all time
@@c.christopher6115 I feel like Ka puts as much effort into the visuals as he does the sonics.
Ny post is Trash 🗑️🗑️
Brownsville Ka a true inspiration 🎤
Word 🎯🫡
Dude was dope but kool g rap greatest lyrical mc ever
I'm not mad at that, Kool G Rap was one of the first MC's to rap in multi syllable form.
Brilliant video Ka is a Genius lands BaD
Too old to rap becomes old enough to write
Never heard of him
Hopefully one day, you'll be blessed enough to do so 🫡
