Saw a clip of this video on TikTok and immediately hopped over here to listen to the whole thing. I’ve been listening to this song over and over for the past couple days, your voice is so lovely to listen to. I especially love the lyric “the tracks feel safe because you know em”, although I can’t really put into words why, I just felt them strongly. This song is a beautiful work of art, so thank you so much for creating the music you do. I’ve since listened to all the songs on the telenovella UA-cam account- you’ve got a new fan! The comments are turned off on a lot of your other songs, so I also wanted to add here that I really love the song ‘young and free’, honestly such a lovely sentiment. I just wanted to leave a comment to let you know your music is wonderful and that it’s appreciated. ❤
The sentiment behind the lyric “the tracks feel safe because you know em” is a pretty common and poignant psychological phenomenon where people cling to things that they know might harm them because they're more afraid of the unknown of being without them.
the sound of a surfer cowgirl with a rattlesnake for a lei, and a leather hula skirt, leaning on a flowered cactus, shooting holes in a can of coconut beans, under a quiet island desert sunset.. lovely song and video, well done!
A breath of fresh air and a sonic triumph in a sea of mediocrity. Everything about this hits the spot from the vocals to the production to the vibe to the style. 10/10
my attention span is at an all time low but I scrolled upon this on tiktok and was entranced and watched the entire 4 minutes, hypnotised the whole time. beautiful
This is the first Tele Novella song I've heard, and I'm not sure I have the words to tell you how much I like it 🤣 I saw the first part of the video on Instagram and it resonated with me so much I came here to see the rest of it
To find something great through something hard/bad, or at least that's the obvious meaning. Haven't slept much lately though, so maybe I'm missing something right now.
No, you can't beat me at my own game Oh, you want it all to stay the same I love you, still I must get goin' It worked until we did some growin' Who can deny the truth the longest? Let's not let it come to that No, you were not shunted down slack's lane Oh, you're not tied up here comes the train The tracks feel safe because you know 'em You cannot stop the whistle from blowin' And if you stay, it's gonna hurt much worse You'll still be left behind All there is left to want From this last kiss Words couldn't hold Even if we spoke No, you hope some things won't ever die Oh, you won't put on your suit and tie It's still a funeral, you know it You may not cry, you may not show it But here is poetry, a vein of ore Uncovered by the storm All there is left to want From this last kiss Words couldn't hold Even if we spoke Shot in the dark Missed it by a mile Still left a mark Couldn't blame us for trying No... No... Oh... Oh..
Every single lyric just reminds me of my relationship with fentanyl. I know she probably wrote this about a person but god damn does it sounds like a drug lullaby. “The tracks feel safe because you know em” breaks my heart.
New fan here. This reminds me of one of my favorite video games, Fallout. it would absolutely fit in the universe. This gives off a longing for the past after a nuclear fallout...like a band trying to revive some of humanity's storytelling through song. I'm in Corpus Christi, TX and will be on the lookout for an appearance of Tele Novella near me!!!
Why was I thinking the same thing actually? It reminds me a lot of the Western themes they have in Nukaworld. It's one of my favorite parts of the game, and this song and video would literally pair perfectly with the game.
this was the first ad for an band that made me actively seek out their music to listen to it more, what a great song! definitely gonna have this on repeat
The first time I saw this band was at the Empire Control Room when the stage was still facing south, with the two tiny Meyer speakers “filling” the room. Within seconds, I was fixated, losing my sense of what I might need to be doing… like balancing. I was the first at the merch table after the show. It’s not often that you find a thing that can both-sides it all. Is it dark? Is it light? They leave it up to you. Absolutely enamored.
I hear ya,and right on!!just found out about em cpl months back myself, watching the videos they done for poets tooth,b4 it's release etc..I love how they do their videes!! This old fashioned, western weirdness is what fascinates me hahaha!!music is simple and fine, and Natalie sings great!!check out her previous band b4 this,Agent Ribbons...all around, good stuff!!😁✌️🍻🤟🍻
Who played marimbas? Great! Been playing this on guitar - it just doesn't quite seem sad enough on banjo - heh heh - but the fiddle makes super sad sounds ... haven't tried the accordion yet?
Easily one of my new favorite thing’s ever… Everything about this perfect. I would call it brilliant, but that word is too underwhelming to describe it.
The album Poet's Tooth is out now and available to order on vinyl, CD or digital download at pocp.co/poets-tooth.OYD
This video was so beautifully executed! I love how every single tele novella song and music video has such a unique vision and story

Same and when I’m not listing to it I think about it.

(at least seems to be it's just a motif you see a lot I'm not saying authoritatively that's what they meant)
I had this exact same experience. I cannot get it out of my mind!
Couldn't have said it better as OP. ❤

Unreal right?! I’m so glad to be alive during era when this song was released.

I saw them live opening for of Montreal and it was so beautiful, found myself standing with my mouth agape more than once 1000% recommend
This song reminds me of me and my toxic relationship with fentanyl. I started bawling the first time I heard this.
good to have you back you weirdos
When that's a massive compliment 🤣

But here is poetry a vein of ore uncovered by the storm..🤍
Which means what exactly?

The poetry is heartbreaking, in the best way. In this home we sing bits and pieces of TN songs under our breath throughout the day.
this was the first ad for an band that made me actively seek out their music to listen to it more, what a great song! definitely gonna have this on repeat
Ohhh ... that is one of the most gorgeous ... most saddest songs I've heard in my life. Haunting and beautiful ...
The time of day changing shot in the middle omg, this whole thing is incredible
FYI, just discovered this and I can't stop humming it. Nice work
This is some beautiful weird psychedelic folk cowboy country it's so beautiful
The timing of me hearing this song is crazy....🥹
One of the best music videos I’ve seen. And the least amount of blinking I’ve ever seen
Brilliant song and brilliant video too

Story telling geniuses. every single music video, a story encased. brilliant minds create brilliant works♥️
Agreed, I wonder what the story for this music video is? 🤔
Not only do they make truly lovely music, they are also very lovely people. Glorious song.

Another gorgeous Tele Novella film by Vanessa Pla. I'm so delighted and in awe of her and her crew. She should be directing every KRS video.
Beautiful song writing! This is one of my favorites on the album.

So beautifully written & preformed . Also, I 100% have a crush on Natalie, she's beautiful 🤍

Every time I hear this song My heart gets broken harder. And I couldn't be happier about that❤
Viva Telenovella
I love this band. This song especially sounds like if Quentin Tarantino did music. And with the video, it’s chefs kiss.
Instant favorite band. Haven’t heard a song yet I don’t absolutely love. Thanks for the amazing music!

Using, leaving wreckage and moving on to use again.
my EXACT style 🤤
idk felt this.
Would have been cool on this one to have the wheel rings painted the silver color used on the top.
Just discovered you ❤
Not only is this a great song I am dropping everything to make a dang pmv for a fictional character to this.
Easily one of my new favorite thing’s ever… Everything about this perfect. I would call it brilliant, but that word is too underwhelming to describe it.
Yes…

This would have been perfect in Twin Peaks
The ghost of Julius Wechter resides in here.
I cant believe this has so few views
i love you still, i must get goin is way too real😭
This makes me think of the Three Amigos.
Zooey Deschanel really had a glow up wandering around the desert on acid for 40 days 🌵💚
Someone let me know when there’s just a lyric version
This is not a song or video you would want to show to someone tripping 😂 im just stoned from bud cant imagine shrooms or acid
New song title ... "give me the fentenal now" that's what my brother always says ...
Who's got lyrics?
In the description!
Hey Shelby
It's too bad it doesn't look like the concept vehicle. Maybe they can work in elements of that in the next revision.
looks like cunk?
