    Favourite toy of the week for my 14 months old: set of pencils. You can throw them, you can push them under the Kallax and then try to get them back, you can drum everything with them, you can insert them in mommy's shoes, etc... Endless possibilities! No need for fancy toys yet, really.

    I’m so proud of you, I started watching when I was looking into reusable pads. You’ve done so many wonderful things since then. Even back then you could tell you’re a fiercely independent intelligent person. It’s incredible.

    For anyone who doesn't wanna buy an extra toddler bathtub, the Ikea TORKIS flexible laundry tub/basket is a really good alternative that doubles as, well, a laundry basket! 😊

    I agree with the cheeky wipes. Years ago I sewed up a bunch of 20×20 cm flannel wipes and put them in a wood pull-out box. Since then we pretty much stopped using kitchen paper rolls, disposable handkerchiefs and wet wipes. They are just so much more convenient. I just chuck them into the wash when I do towels (60°C), it's super easy.

    I loved this video!! Thank you!!
    I have 1 silicone bib and to me that is more than enough, in case someone is on a tight budget I recommend it with all my heart ⭐. On the toys part I've been lucky, most of my baby's toys were gifts, but if I had to buy one in the future I would recommend 1 noisy toy, those with music, buttons and colors and then something with wheels.

    I've not heard of anyone else who doesn't get the Bibado hype... I fell victim to it but they're definitely the least used. I've a couple of toweling sleeved bibs from Sainsbury's and they're our absolute favourites 🤣

      The bibado hype is CRAZY on tik tok! I just brought normal long sleeve ones from various places 😊

    Sink baths on holiday? I remember just being bathed in the kitchen sink at home! Possibly it's from when my parents were having renovations done but still.

    I agreed Bibado bibs are over hyped. I brought one second hand and barley use it. Much prefer my nudy bibs and they have a lil pocket at the bottom to catch the food so don't have to use a silicon bib every time. Also quite cheap.

    I have recently been able to buy a Kaos Klapp secondhand (yay!) and I was debating whether or not to order the tray for it. With your recommendation it sounds like I might. :)

    I have a bibado and think it’s not worth the hype! It’s not as easy to wipe as advertised because of all the material so find myself having to wash it every day. Keeps him clean but maintaining the bib is a pain! As for cheeky wipes, I got the starter kit with the intention to use them as bum wipes but found the washing too much to keep up with. However they’re great for bathing and food clean up now he’s older!

    With mammals generally, "weaning" refers to moving from breastfeeding/nursing to solid/independent feeding. Interesting that the UK is different, at least in terms of human babies

    Just info here...
    As this definition below states, it's to accustom them to something OTHER than the mother's milk/ having them manage WITHOUT it... that's why, we Americans, attribute weaning to be taking the milk (breast or bottle), AWAY from the child.
    Wean:
    verb
    accustom (an infant or other young mammal) to food other than its mother's milk.
    *accustom (someone) to managing without something on which they have become dependent or of which they have become excessively fond.
    "the doctor tried to wean her off the sleeping pills"

    The only thing I don't like about the big bibs is I found them too much of a faff so if my daughter had been choking it would have got in the way.

    Are there any toy company that do the equivalent of a library for toys

    • @mayra3277
      @mayra3277 4 місяці тому

      Perhaps check if you can borrow any at your local library? Some do have programs for non-book items ranging from games to gardening equipment!

    Do you send the toys back after your child has grown out of them.

    Important note to parents using suction plates and bowls - it's very important that the plate and bowl part is NOT soft silicone. The suction cup will obviously be soft but the plate or bowl part must be solid/hard. You can buy them where the bowl/plate is made from soft silicone. These are a suffucation risk, as kids can sometimes pull the bowl or plate away and if the then put their face in it (like into the bowl) it can suck onto their face and suffocate them. The fully aoft silicone suction plates and bowls are a hazard and if you have one you should throw ir away.

      Baby would be left alone with food anyways, so I imagine this wouldn’t be an issue

    • @kellywatts4895
      @kellywatts4895 4 місяці тому

      It’s an issue with the bowls ( had personal experience with this where baby put his face in it and within a split second got stuck ( no he was not alone and was supervised at the time those bowls are now only used to heat up peas and such in the microwave)plates not so much , I would say though don’t put them in the dishwasher wash by hand as they pick up the taste of the detergent in the dishwasher , bibadoo bibs cheaper on Amazon at around £15 next do one similar for £12 , cheeky wipes personally I don’t like them poppets baby ones are my go 2 or I do have a set of 10 from Tesco which are used for out and about for hands and faces they are only £6
