10s can play just as loud and low as bigger subs in proper settings..Love seeing these builds with 10s or smaller ..Expensive speakers but worth the $$$$ if you got it

@@MadTrollGaming you should probably go to some shows and competitions and see what's impressive after that. He's playing a pretty good bandwidth obviously from the video, appears to be 30ish hz and up for the sweet spot, but the lower notes seemed pretty damn good too. Maybe rewatch it. You must have missed the lower notes.
I thought I was loud till I attended my first competition. Lost to a girl. Yup. Granted she had twice the cone area and box, but I lost. Then sat in a 60+ rig for the first time. Then the loud bug hit. I now have a single 9918, and I do 50 at 28hz. Is that impressive? Wrong box, wrong power. I can play anything and play pretty "loud" from 45 to blow 20 though. These subs are beasts, and you honestly wouldn't know till you owned or played with some DD. I still think a 53 from the trunk is pretty good for a daily setup. It's not an all out spl build. I'd be willing to bet that 53 is at a lower frequency than you think. I'll be doing 60+ with two 9918's soon enough this coming year.
Hopefully the owner can chime.in and let us know where that 53 is happening!

Killer set up I am.in the middle of a 6 10s build in a 4th tuned at 47hz on a 8k to start..plan to upgrade subs and power once I got it up and playing to find all the loose ends in my suv.
I gotta say, you ate in the right direction. 10 inch subs tend to play frequencies we can hear better than larger subs. We had an IASCA contender that ran on a couple dozen 10" subs. I know beauty isn't always the game, but if you hid some of the sides of the trunk, and put a beauty ring on that front panel of the box into the cabin. Your wiring looks amazing....and I'm a tough judge on wiring. Bass on!

@@chaseleim4773 if you run big cheap speakers it will indeed change the frequency response because the motor on cheaper subs all have the same motor no matter what size. That motor may have enough energy to make a small woofer sound good but not a bigger woofer.
This is the concept I am struggling to understand- I tend to want to think the bigger the sub, the more impact i'm going to feel from the infrasound frequencies. Will the 10s offer that with this kind of power level but in a smaller footprint?
@@srarcade it's like cars, it's all power to weight. If a 10 has a big enough motor and power handling it can get as loud and low as a 18. That's assuming you have the room for a 18. A 10 in a proper box can have more output than a bigger sub in the wrong box.

In the 2016 season, I ran 3x HDS3 10s in my Passat. I ran a Nendo BC5500 on them at 2.67 Ohms. I ran in the T1 class and I think at the time it was up to 3000 Watts. I ran a 147 at 30 Hz at 2800ish watts. They may not have been crazy loud, but they sounded amazing and loved the lows. I had 4 and kept one as a spare. I sold 2 to my buddy and I still have the other 2. I have friends still talk about those 3 10s.
I absolutely love the sound of 3x 10's but always wondered if it was too much? Would 2x grade A 12's do just as much bass as 3x 10's?.o😅ooo I pgv⁴❤

DD audio is definitely my favorite company there subs are insane. DD and Crossfire just sound amazing and they can take power without burning up the voice coils.

I just got my 9510L supercharged 2500rms going in a mustang lets see If it hits . My 2508s hit the lowes .
How was the change?
@ah4800 the 2508g sounds better. But a single 9510L is a bit louder. But to me it can't handle the 2500 tbh the woofer gets warm pretty quickly. No clipping at all .

Idk these cars are really solid and he braced his sealing which is the floppy-est thing on this car.
You can find another guy on youtube with a 2012 chevy cruze walled off behind the driver seat with four 15s or 18s can't remember.
He isn't flexing anything more than this except his windshield but his isn't braced.
You gotta consider, most people be building big systems in older cars because of the simplicity of power upgrades and space, but newer vehicles often have really solid interiors at this point and havnt lived the rough life that all these old bass rides have
What would you say are good subs to put in my room right now I am using a Logitech computer speaker system that I have modified but I want something with a lot more power
I've done a lot of personal research for home subwoofers, and I have 4 recommendations to give you based on your budget.
If you wanna spend $130, get a Dayton Audio SUB800 off Amazon, or a larger version for a little over $150.
For $185 on Amazon you can get the Klipsch R-12SW which is solid for the price and will get down to around 30hz. There are some other good Klipsch subs in the $200-$300 area as well.
For $340 I'd highly recommend the BIC PL-200 II. A nice sub that can get pretty dang low and loud. Also looks nice.
For $450 get the SVS SB-1000. If you're willing to spend $450 or more, look no further than SVS. If $450 is too cheap then get a more expensive SVS sub lol.

I have 2 M5 I’m looking to get rid of. Both in nearly new condition. Both were only ran at 1ohm on very good electrical. 400 amp alt. 240ah lithium. I have both bass knobs. I want $1000 each for them. Will not break them up. Also have 2 C100.4. All 4 for $2300. I do not have original boxes for any of them. The 4 channels are not in as good of condition as the M5’s but look very good. I ran them for a month and upgraded to much larger amps.

It is because they have very big coils and the bigger the dust cap the better cooling the sub gets
@@kailumgg6720 false. The size of the cap make zero difference for thermal disbursement. More air volume above the coil does not affect piston travel, therefore does not affect total air displacement across the coil or gap. It's strictly for a rigid "piston", reducing any deflection the cone may have with a smaller cap. The tradeoff or compromise, is additional weight, which could be a good or bad thing, pending application.
I'm not trying to be a know it all, just pointing out the facts, before the old wife's tales gets a new addition.
Please by all means prove this theory however, maybe I'm mistaken.

I have the same setup basically with 3 10’s (CompR) in a ported box. His box didnt look very big but he is definitely cheating using his sunroof as a passive radiator!!

Still don't understand why people do stuff like that...& make music sound awful on purpose. I love bass too. I have subs in my system & I even play bass guitar but if it drowns out everything else you're doing it wrong + it sound awful.

@@jesusgavemeaids it’s just preference fam. In a lot of songs the bass frequency and pattern tells a part of the story too. A perfect example is Dirty Diana by Micheal Jackson, or smooth criminal. Listen to that song with no bass and then add in a subwoofer. The beat is the heart of the song. Every lyric, melody, and note flows from the beat. Nothing wrong with highlighting it above all else💪🏾
