    Very stylish. The problem for us mortals is knowing when to ratchet up the attack and when to cash in. Many games are lost by getting that timing wrong.

      @@Reptar4000 No offence intended. The word "immortal" is quite frequently used in a chess context. I should have said "those of us who are not super grandmasters".

    When Wei Yi does it, he's sacrificing in the style of the old masters. When I do it, I'm throwing a piece out the window. It's what comes after the sacrifice that makes all the difference.

    • @davidanderson_surrey_bc
      @davidanderson_surrey_bc 11 місяців тому +16

      Well, there's your problem. Close that window. And when you try to throw the piece, it will just bounce harmlessly off the glass, and you can pick it up and put it back on the board.

      Try throwing your opponents pieces out the window (maybe when they’re not looking). I find it boosts your chances more than chucking your own pieces.

    When you begin learning chess you go back and study the game of the great masters. This reminds me of some of the game I would go over from Marshall. He would do astounding piece sacrifices that as a beginner you could never imagine and turning the game into a crushing win. This is that kind of brilliance that leaves the common player sitting in awe. Thank you for this game. Something that will be a timeless masterpiece. This is what draws you in to want to play chess.

I can understand showing every line would cause the video to get too long. But this is the nth time I felt like agadmator didn't show many cool lines and that's why I am frustrated.
