- Shoes that have been left hot in the car or by the heater and squashed in a weird shape will often stay in that shape when they cool down. This is because the toe and heel area have a layer of heat moldable material to hold them in shape. It is in between the lining and the leather of the shoe. Often called the toe puff and heel counter. Its the bit that breaks in the heel when you stuff your feet in repeatedly with out undoing your laces.
It can be reshaped by heating to soften then letting cool in the correct shape.
Needs more heat than you think.

Are this method works if the toe puff is isnt smooth? Because my boots creases went wild and squashed the toe shape and it looks bad
Unsure of your question. Send a photo on my sites free quote page if that helps
Hello! Does this work on suede shoes? Someone stepped on the toe cap stiffener and now it has a dent in the middle.
Sure will.
Thank you for making this video!!!
Thanks Danny, sure makes them look better eh!
@@shanesshoerepairs i plan to try it this weekend, i will let you how it works
@@dannyturner7967 If it's not working usually means it needs more heat.
Thank you. It works!
Nice one. Generall y if it does not work ... needs more heat.
Will this work for patent toes?or is there a different method?
Will work on “patent” take your time and consider gentle heat from the inside as well
Hi will this work for vintage canvas shoe?
Have not tried on a vintage canvas shoe. Depends if it has the plastic toe puff in it. You may be able to feel it if it is unlined
Ty yes unlined
@@shannonstewart1225 if it has a different look on it inside at the toe, that is likely a toe puff. Try heating with hair dryer then hold in shape by stuffing tissues inside. Takes more heat than you think.
OK great thank you so much. It’s an old; brand new pair of purple *NSYNC canvas shoes I found in a free box. Lol
@@shannonstewart1225 nice one, some cheap plastic shoe trees ... or some shimmy wooden ones from an op shop, will help keep them in shape.
