Shoe Repair Whanganui - Red Shoes Repaired and Resoled
Man, you earned your subscriptions frfr. Thank you so much for your help!
Only after watching thos video...i found double soles on shoes....Thanks!
Owner emailed us today! Many thanks.
Great video, thanks. What do you suggest to address a high arch, ie the vamp needs to be stretched? Thank you.
Onto a bench mounted stretching machine, or sideways with a hand held width stretcher.
I brought mine in for repair and got it back in less than 5mins and paid $20 It was a pre made screw in. Years before my shoemaker would cut it out from some material ( or rubber) and not use hard lastic
Who repairs them?
I do 😂, all sorts of customers, from guys that have got them wet every day for years to ladies who own 9 pairs.
what dye did you use?
Easy dye from TRG
That's fr awesome. Such a niche item I love it.
I found your page looking for how to stretch some leather straps that are meant to go around the ankle. They are Birkenstock YaraHabana and the straps are way too tight. Do you have a video that might help ?
Can you return them? Are they leather or Birko flor? Leather will stretch, clamp stat to bench at each end using f or g clamps and rags to avoid marking. Now put pens felts Ben’s then notebooks under the strap in the middle to stretch. Birko flor not much if any stretch. Consider getting the buckle moved to the end of the strap. Or elastic or leather extensions at end of the straps. To hold buckle past the end of the existing strap. Also more holes punched in straps.
@@shanesshoerepairs thank you. I cannot return them as I got them off EBay. They look to be leather / nubuck maybe
What is the distance from the buckle to the first hole in the strap?
How can I lengthen my trainers, I bought them online, it said 44EUR turns out the insoles are 27.8 and I'm used to 28.5
Dude, you give the best tips to stretch shoes. You saved my feet and my outfit.😊❤
Thanks for this … now I Gotto find where to buy those paint
If you are in NZ you can get them here shanes.co.nz/collections/easy-dyes Else google shoe paints and your location
Wow that was amazing !
You just saved my ass
What if they are unusual colours ?
This tutorial may help ua-cam.com/video/hGMRrpYmsr8/v-deo.html With red, yellow and blue you can create any colour plus here are a bunch of ready made colours shanes.co.nz/collections/easy-dyes And black and white can be helpful too.
Wow... excellent.... perfect explained.. thanks
Good as New😍♥️♥️
Im done with RM,s the quality does not justify the high price !
My Dad use to use 2 vise grips one big one small to stretch his work boots and my football boots. He'd open them up inside the boot. I tried it recently didn't do anything. Unfortunately he's not here to show me how he did it.
Cheers for the idea Shannon, I googled it, no luck. I'll have a try and see what happens my self. Probably like those metal wire puzzles. Once you see it it's obvious ... but before then it appears impossible.
I have those docs - Have you a video how to care for that finish?
@@Fitnesseuphonium wipe the dust and grime off with a damp cloth. Polish with a shoe cream or leather lotion. Down the track once they have a few road rash scuffs. I mean the colour has been removed by kicking the pavement, use some easy dye or shoe paint to touch up the scuffs.
So cool! Thanks Shane
I just bought one yesterday and was gonna take it back cause it was tight Now I will keep it and stretch it then
i’ve seen your birkenstock videos before and i have the bostons is it normal for the cork on the foot to get black a little bit after a week?
It's likely suede? The bit you are standing on? Plan A: Socks. Plan B: Clean feet. 120 grit sandpaper or a suede brush will help clean them. Send a photo on my site if you would like more direct and specific help. Enjoy them!
Thank you so much!!
thank you!!
I have an issue with my dr. martens. I put the heel protectors in the back, but at the same time I wanna maintain the shape of the shoes with shoes trees. But the issue is, these shoes trees ruin the heel protectors as they pressure them 😭
Use the simple spring type shoe trees or cut 1/3 of a plastic bottle to line the back while your trees are in your Dr Martens.
What’s the point of this video? How about showing instead of barely telling?
Useful
Mister, I know that there is a type of mesh between the sole and the outer sole that is sewn in sneakers, I usually deteriorate it because of my footprint ¿is there any way to fix it?
You could consider sneakers that have the insole glued on top of the mesh. Or you could glue in your existing insoles for added strength. Also check you are buying shoes wide enough.
@@shanesshoerepairs thanks!
Thanks a lot for the great advice! I was about to return my new sneakers, but this made the trick!
Your welcome. If returning is still an option its worth considering so you can keep the insole in.
Hii sir I also need one leg shorter than second shoes please give your address 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Ah yes, the shoe sandwich. so many layers. I love it
Like Subway, but far harder to choo.
ship of theseus but birkenstocks
No audio shoe dude
Cheers, weird eh, loaded using Metricool and other platforms ok.
Even more weird ... it's playing audio now
To get nice new shoelaces we will buy brand new shoes, take the shoelaces and use them on the old broken shoes. Life hack!
Great plan my man ... grab a glass of your favourite and consider rewatching the video with an open mind. You'll be surprised what slips past. Have a good one. Might make it a bit clearer in the next video 🙂
Would you give me idea plz How to make a number 2 size shoe to number 3
Shoe stretcher machine is best bet to get a full size.
Can you explain the benefit of updating the bottom of the shoe compared to just getting a new one?
Cheaper, better, get to keep the ones you know and trust. In this case the Beige pair were the ladies "new ones" but didn't wear them much. So we made the most of the best parts for her. Rather than buy a third pair that she still might not love.
So you wasted a pair to rescue a pair. Nice.
@@ashraf9262 I would assume he'll use the sole on another repair
@@ashraf9262 The "wasted" beige pair the customer had bought as her new pair. But didn't wear them much as the beige didn't suit her as well as she had hoped. So rather than send them to landfill along with her worn out pair. She asked us to make one pair from the 2. Understand that both pair were headed to the dump. But for half the price of a new pair we created one pair that suited her.
@@shanesshoerepairsapologies you had to explain that thoroughly. Some people are too stubborn to understand anything
Big brain move
What if your right foot is 11 but your left is 10.5 usa
Damn .I wish I had seen this before I donated a few pairs haha.
Can you show us how to make the base of the tongue feel more comfortable, and can you pleasee show how to glue it , pleasee😢
What’s “munted” is that like, when a boot is worn out? Just kidding, I’m Australian but I bet those yanks won’t know what that means 😂
lol yes, you are correct. Helps with audience selection, if they don't know munted, scuzzy or nec minit they ain't from around here 🙂
Hi Shane, I’ve got a darkish brown boot. I’d like to transform it to even darker/black colour or possibly a burnished look. I was wondering if you’ve done a video of that nature
Try this chaps video, ua-cam.com/video/nVMLYsjsVrs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TheElegantOxford
@@shanesshoerepairs thanks for the response mate. I will check it out cheers
Thank you! I’m traveling so this is a great idea for temporary relief
And the structure to give dr.martins a shank 😅
They use to have wooden ones ... which were almost always broken into 3 before they arrived to us. Metal ones went back in.
Have you ever replaced the outersoles
Not common, maybe 5 pair a year for last 20 years or so. Here's a photo of a recent one shanes.co.nz/collections/dr-marten-repairs/products/dr-marten-resole
Would there be a reason to replace the entirety of a leather sole with rubber soles instead? (Like dainite) Or would it be better to just glue this piece on? I'm debating as I have a pair of leather soles but I don't even wear them as I don't want the leather soles to get wet and damaged
Price, personal preference and availability of suitable repairer are part of the decision. Quick cheap and easy to put a 2mm rubber protection sole on top of the leather. Not much can go wrong. Replacing the leather sole with rubber is going to cost more and has more risk of altering the shoes look and feel.
@@shanesshoerepairs that was really helpful! Thank you for your reply
Are those suede Birkenstocks or leather ones?
Looks like Nubuck. Nubuck is leather that has been sanded, soft and comfy but soaks up stains ... not so bad in black.
Excellent
how to install this in a 7 hole boots?
Get your cobbler to do something like this, add what ever thickness you need under the top layer. Glue in and stitch at the top. Leave the top 20mm too high. Then trim it off once stitched.
Thanks this helps
