Gulfstream G500 and G600 - the advanced jet brothers

- The Gulfstream G500 and G600 are a pair of GVII generation business jets developed by Gulfstream Aerospace.
The planes made their first flights in 2015 and 2016. The G500 is intended to replace the obsolete G450, while the larger G600 is the replacement for the obsolete G550, respectively. Being the latest Gulfstream products, this planes are one of the most advanced aircraft in the class.

The P&W Canada 800 series shares the common core of the P&W GTF series, but does not have the gearbox. I guess Gulfstream didn't want to take also the risk of a GTF, while already integrating novel technologies like the new avionics and sidestick controllers.

Great video but 2009 all business executives were having a nervous breakdown. That is like saying 1931 was a great year for business. Not quite the case. Gulfstream, like Bugatti in 1931, would have been considering shutting down in 2009.
Major multinational corporations, unlike small businesses and individuals, were being bailed out by the U.S. federal government. While many people were losing their homes, the top 1% were still sitting pretty.

The fuselage cross section (external width) of the G650/700 is actually 7 inches greater than that of the G500/600. The narrower interior of the 500/600 is attributable primarily to this and not significant differences in sidewall insulation as might be interpreted from this otherwise excellent video.

You should see the G700...10' longer than the G650...and still 19 people...the rumoured G850 will accomodate 29 people...so they're breaking the mold on that one. The G700 will have up to 5 living areas and can include a sleeping room and full bath with shower.
@Skyships Eng You never showed the 7 window G500s (except in the thumbnail). Only the early G500's (test aircraft) had 6 windows. The G500 and G600 are both 7 window aircraft and the G650 is the only 8 window aircraft. The G700 will have 10 windows (on each side).

The older models where used as a shuttle trainer by intentionally opening those thrust reversers.
