Yes it's very quirky with dated graphics by today's standards. But this attraction was made in the 1980's when the original Star Wars and Jackson's punky rock pop music was a part of the mainstream culture that everyone was in to. Lucas and Micheal were very ambitious artists and this was very impressive for the time. The attraction was brought back for a limited time in honor of Micheal's passing. However it might still be there due to demands and revived fandom, and perhaps for guest's nostalgia and historical purpose. I really want to take my family to Disney world and see this, and all the modern things of course. I've always been a huge fan and just wish I had the chance to see this.
I was at this about one week after it came back at Epcot, and the second MJ comes back on screen at 14:50, everybody in the theater was applauding... This was one of the best decisions of the parks to bring back this attraction
Man i really can't believe they didn't keep this as a part of disney's legacy, all this updated stuff is awful i'd personally rather see captain EO instead of listening to another Frozen song. Michael had the same intuition as Walt did he wanted to change and move people in ways people didn't imagine on which they both did but removing this was a massive fuck you to Michael.
I know how you feel, I was nearly traumatized on alien encounter over at Magic Kingdom way back in the day. It's great that they brought EO back because I never would have seen it. It's great fun, despite what guests think of Disney bringing back I can say that we cast members loved it :)
This was the attraction that traumatized me as a child when that woman/witch creature flexed her fingers...... all I saw was someone trying to grab me and I freaked out so bad that my parents had to remove me. All it really was, is just 2 music videos shot in 3D and CGI, like most of MJ's music videos anyway. They average 15 minutes since they almost all have a short film within them.
I think this should be replaced with the Kingdom Hearts series in 3D. Maybe each new hour (or visit), Sora & Riku, and maybe Donald & Goofy, will all face a different scenario. Meaning? The show wouldn't be the same story twice.
They need the Doctor for this at 20:04. The Doctor: I seek audience with the Supreme Empress under peaceful contract. According to Convention Fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation. The Empress: SILENCE!! YOU INFECT OUR WORLD WITH YOUR PRESENCES! The Doctor: Oh don’t give me that! We are on a peaceful mission. You fired first, plain and simple. It wasnt removed because of a license issue. Disney had funded the entire production of it. It was actually removed due to the fact that allegations had started surfacing about child molestation, at the same time, EVERYBODY knew, and almost overnight, NO ONE attended the attraction.
I think they took it out because their licence expired and jackson was the opposite of popular... they brought it back because his death made him popular again...
Carolina Quiroz R the plot wasn’t the primary focus. the real focus was just bringing Copolla, MJ, and Lucas to make a 17 minute music video that many people do and still love.
lol, that's not what most people think about it down in the parks. I can't tell you how many times I walked out of the show with people looking like this O_o and saying there's a reason why they did away with it years ago. lol people are funny.
I am a fan of michael ok? but it was much better and more fun the attraction Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, 3D had spectacular special effects of light and sound and movement around the room had was incredible, CAPTAIN EO while and nothing happens
