Got my mom a 2016 AMG S63 coupe 1 owner CPO early this year for Mother’s Day. Best CPO buy ever. MSRP $183k. Got it for $61.5k before taxes etc. Got it when the pandemic car market initially dropped heavily, before the used market lost its mind and prices started climbing up. I could sell it now for more. :)
Alik Kromin I had a g37 coupe but I totaled it my stupid ass was trying to drift after watching initial d hhhh .... Right now I’m driving a 2015 camry ik ik don’t make fun of me but I’m saving to buy either a mustang gt or a hemi challenger
All cars depreciate “FULL STOP” but AMG depreciates the most. My 1 year old AMG GTS with 4,000km lost $80,000 and that’s after getting a 20% off the sticker price. As a comparison, 4 year old Porsche Carrera S with 17,000km lost just $70,000 and that’s after 4 years. The depreciation on the GTC is also very bad and the GTR will be worst especially when the black series version comes out. Most of the rich people with GTsR will be upgrading to the Black Series and they won’t care about how much they trade their car in for, all they want is to drive the fastest and latest. Another reason why the more expensive cars depreciate more is due to the taxes which you can’t recuperate and that rich people who can afford and want to drive those cars mainly buy new
Every amg is like a luxury item, when the new one comes out the old one becomes less valuable on the market. However, the exception to this rule applies only to limited production cars like the Black Editions or Black Series like the C63 507 or the SLS Black, or the SLR.
You took the words right out of my mouth as I don't ever recall seeing this dude even slightly bald the last time I watched his video??? He looks like he's 24-27 years of age?
coming to the western market is so funny in contrast to Asia where S classes hold value (relatively). In Asia, middle end executive saloons such as Panamera, Maybachs, and S classes or high end saloons like rolls and Bentley's, roam the streets and is basically any entreprenuer's must have for a car (yes they are considered middle end, high end is more bently and rolls which many don't dare to drive it for safety and jealousy reasons rather than affordability. Also many people have dark money, showing such a wealthy car attracts too much attention and inflicted jealousy could lead to being reported and jailed, but a Maybach or S class is pretty average). They also hold their value very well. Preferences really are different.
Matthew Sharpe yea, Singapore taxes are crazy. But even then there's S classes eveywhere, like with any other Asian city (less so certain south Asian areas I suppose). A maybach is worth a couple high end maxed out rollsies. But lol still drive them everywhere
ZirZamin production ! Crazy! But what's crazier is....I'm willing to bet if you check out certain places in the cities if not already running rampant everywhere, they are still all over the place. It's a common car regardless of the price tag. People simply have money. It's also a face and a suit. Everyone buys it to look well prepped and successful, to not be looked down by business partners. Idk the preference in Iran, but I'm sure people who own one or afford one is common enough for you to see at very minimum, once a day If you looked, if not WAY more.
True, huge & powerful economy with a lot of people with vast amounts of disposable income - plus of course many of them would be company vehicles so they can write-down much of the tax.
World Peace somewhat incorrect. You can purchase a 2015 for $35k but 158k miles. You can buy a 2016 for $45k but with 96k miles. So yes, you can purchase lower priced but with very high miles. I’d much rather pay $60 k for 30k miles.
it is arguably one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, mercedes coupes ever, it has a loud ass v8, handles like a dream (so they say), and has one of the prettiest interiors in any car ever... its is also very very very rare... when petrol-powered cars die out, and rich people who love cars are looking for a car which stands out and is genuinely enjoyable, this thing will cost otherworldly amounts...
Joe Reichel you must be doing it in UK pounds or something, in Canada the S63 coupe has a base price of 180k, and in the US base price is 169k before options. You can easily go over 200k with a few of the basic options.
I love the unique angles you shot of the dashboard. I never knew how sweeping and long that dashboard really was! But anyway, this such a sexy and sleek car. Get it in the cabriolet and this is an awesome "look at me" car. I wish they had the neck scarf vent in the coupe cause on cold days, it would be nice to have warm hair blowing on my neck as my heated seats and heated armrests are going.
Alright alright it was a bit of an exaggeration :p But it's very close, especially when you consider how much the S63 weighs and that it's acceleration isn't on the top of the list of priorities.
Jesse Peng and a ton more weight. It's far less balanced than the 458, the gearbox isn't as savvy, the engine revs more like a freight train and pulls with less flexibility than the Ferrari, and not to mention the weight distribution of the Merc.
I am considering it... they can be had with low teens miles for about low 80ks. Now, I also want a 911 CS, or E63s, or an Aston... good times for some low mileage used cars and the bitch of depreciation.
Its not the car or brands fault that these cars don't hold value in north America its because of the tax registration and insurance they pay for luxury vehicles which makes car like this a pain in the ass to own every where else u go even a 2016 s63 amg goes for 200k used
these are amazing cars. they are built to last. thats why only a fool buys them new. i wait a good 4-5 years and buy it used. best bang for your buck. i cant wait until the s63 coupe is in my price range
if the repair cost of a Mercedes was less, and Mercedes was willing to give up profit on that end, the value would hold up better and customers wouldn't lose so much on the depreciation side. A lose lose for the customer on both repairs and holding value
For the know it alls. Apr 16, 2018 · Long before Porsche built their first production four-door, they helped with the 500E for Mercedes. ... When Daimler wanted to build a hotrod edition of their W124 sedan, they enlisted the help of Porsche.
Well i think a problem is how they put the same V8 in a cars that are over 100k cheaper. Not alot of variety when it come to the engine sizes in mercedes.
The two companies entered an agreement early in 2012 for Nissan to build Daimler’s four-cylinder engines at a factory in Tennessee. Daimler will use the engines in the next-gen C-class, which begins production later this year in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and potentially in the upcoming GLA-class compact SUV. In addition to the Q50, Infiniti’s future Q40 compact will also receive the Benz-engineered motors; it’s a handy fit, since the Q40’s front-drive platform is borrowed from Mercedes-Benz, too.
Yes, THIS IS WHY ID NEVER BUY A MERCEDES/Porsche brand new. I’ve seen cars that go 800k (aed) from Mercedes depreciate in value by half, (some second hand examples are sold for less than 300k aed). Makes you wonder, is this worth the purchase?
The reason it lost so much so quickly is because...it was NEVER really worth that much outside of dealership la la land - Signed, AMG owner. AMG's are MSRP overpriced and the free market treats it accordingly. AMG has been a part of MB for a long time now, it's a mass producer now not just a special tuner. Now if they were more competitive with Teslas they would be onto something, as it is today they are just barely beginning to catch up.
this is great for me, by the time in the next two years I'll able to get piss cheap financing for this half a million dollar Mercedes S class in Australia, used they are from as low as $195k AUD rn
The car didn't depreciate that much. They'll buy for 125k and sell it for 150k. The only reason you're getting a low ball offer is you are selling it less than a year after you bought it. Who buys a 200k car to use for 11months? you should have leased instead
tbh, I don't like how the S coupe looks from the front... I'd much rather have a c63s coupe, especially now, when they will be available with the new interior...
Depreciation, good for me. I love getting cars used. Same experience at the fraction of the cost.
Rookie To Pro the higher mileage the better usually. People are scared but they are usually the most reliable ones
Exactly
Seats that have already been farted in hundreds of times. No new car smell for you.
Rookie To Pro Not the same experience at allllllllll.
Well I detail the car right away, but I understand. You enjoy farting on the seats first? @ Daygo G

Shit buy me one 😍
This is a great one!
Easily 90k + now
@@justinwalker4975 exactly lol
Thanks you depreciation
Merc King Guy it’s funny because you still can’t afford it hhh jk jk
Ayman 8365 really funny kid really funny.
Merc King Guy I appreciate the compliment bro 😅
Ayman 8365 what you drive my guy
Alik Kromin I had a g37 coupe but I totaled it my stupid ass was trying to drift after watching initial d hhhh ....
Right now I’m driving a 2015 camry ik ik don’t make fun of me but I’m saving to buy either a mustang gt or a hemi challenger
Its worth it to buy used, apparently.
13:35 depreciation talk starts here
Thanks
Thanks

Depreciation is a poor man’s best friend
Exactly there's nothing like buying a new car and enjoying it for yourself. If you can afford a 200k car 100k over 3 years is not a big deal.
Depreciation is also a rich man's best friend: saving $100,000 here and there adds up ... can make you a rich man.
Alright you guys today we are completely "balding out" in a S63 amg
You win.
You took the words right out of my mouth as I don't ever recall seeing this dude even slightly bald the last time I watched his video??? He looks like he's 24-27 years of age?
Englebert Humperdink Views it happens to the best of us
Killed it 😂
Re Lax balling out. He didn’t say balding out...lol

Depends on what part of Asia you are talking about though. In Singapore a lowly Subaru WRX could set you back over $150,000.
Matthew Sharpe yea, Singapore taxes are crazy. But even then there's S classes eveywhere, like with any other Asian city (less so certain south Asian areas I suppose).
A maybach is worth a couple high end maxed out rollsies. But lol still drive them everywhere
ZDY bro this s class in iran cost around 700k
ZirZamin production ! Crazy! But what's crazier is....I'm willing to bet if you check out certain places in the cities if not already running rampant everywhere, they are still all over the place. I think the $100,000 lost is because of the new engine upgrade and remodel. It won't depreciate that much if it has the same thing this year.
That interior 😍 good choice Jesse
Sangev look at all the trolls in this comment section lmao
Thanks bro
Jesse Peng Just Anwesome Craftmenship this car. Especially love the taillights.
BTW, how did you come to owning that much real estate ?
Jesse Peng JESSE Great car
Sangev agree with that
Same with all Mercedes. Used 2 years old S Class here in the states can be bought for mid 40’s! MSRP over 100 grand!
al over 100k
al no that is not correct you cannot but an S class two years old for 40k. They run for mid 40s bottom 50s four years old
al that's probably for a base S400
World Peace somewhat incorrect. You can purchase a 2015 for $35k but 158k miles. You can buy a 2016 for $45k but with 96k miles. So yes, you can purchase lower priced but with very high miles. I’d much rather pay $60 k for 30k miles.
Brisdad53 you ought to check out autotrader before spouting your own bullshit.

It’s the reason why I drive Benz’s... you feel like a boss and traffic seems to just not matter.
its dropped like 40k not 100k.... what the hell?
Joe Reichel the car had a 215k sticker price brand new.
i just built one same specs and it was 145k. what am I missing?
Joe Reichel you must be doing it in UK pounds or something, in Canada the S63 coupe has a base price of 180k, and in the US base price is 169k before options. You can easily go over 200k with a few of the basic options.
Joe Reichel Different currency?
I was doing the sedan not the coupe, my mistake, I wonder why the coupe costs 22k more than the sedan base models
Well if it has lost 100000 dollars now I would say, YES, it's worth it! It's an S63!!
Nice video. In my opinion the S550/S63/S65 Coupe is the best looking modern car.
The 2018 S63 Coupe do have the neck scarf vent as an option.
Dylan Wells your hot Dylan xoxo
If you buy it for the right price used can sell if for pretty much the same price you go bought it for= Free!
Only 4000km in a year? So he didn't drive it at all basically.
Rich people dont buy these cars as everyday drivers..its probably one of like 3 other cars
Meen Balla what car is a better daily than an S class?
+tmanepic BMW m5 in terms of parking and maintenance
Meen Balla I have a feeling you don't know rich people
+tmanepic I know ppl that work hard for their 6 figure income, rich people are overrated
Fantastic car but the depreciation is on another level, 196k msrp 2017's going for 90-100k with 10k miles and fully optioned like the video.
a bargain fitted with the last good sounding v8 from amg
Misleading title...it did not lose 100k in a year. It lost 65k-70k in value. Still alot but not 100..
so not really misleading , 70k lost is an awful lot
If this is faster than a 458 Italia it does 0-60 in less than 3.4 seconds which even with that power and torque I find hard to believe.
Alright alright it was a bit of an exaggeration :p But it's very close, especially when you consider how much the S63 weighs and that it's acceleration isn't on the top of the list of priorities.
Joel Brennan its not quicker than a 458 unless the S63 is modified.
Roads Untraveled it has more HP and a ton more Torque than the 458 Italia
Jesse Peng and a ton more weight. It's far less balanced than the 458, the gearbox isn't as savvy, the engine revs more like a freight train and pulls with less flexibility than the Ferrari, and not to mention the weight distribution of the Merc.
Jesse Peng that doesn't mean much because Motor Trend timed a Mazda MX-5 and Charger Hellcat around Willow Springs and the Miata was faster.
This is why I don't buy new cars ever, because they lose value quickly.
I've driven the 2015 s65 and honestly it's too heavy to put all the power down. I think a 2015 e63 is perfect.
do you even think about what are you typing? too heavy to put the power down? what the fuck are you talking about?
Catalin Ionutz lmao i think he meant to say its so heavy the power isnt enough
i never heard anyone complaining they dont get enough power from that v12 in the s65.
Catalin Ionutz - Haha that was exactly what I was going to say. Plus, this video isn’t even about the 65 😂
Yup S63 is faster then the s65
A Benz dealer in nyc told me to buy it used and save big bucks!
The windows are thick because they are filled with a gas that keeps the windows from fogging up! The extra glass also makes it quiet
I wish i was in America, here in Australia these cars are hold value
This is in Canada bro
South Africa too :(
Which is in North America.
ZirZamin production ! Yeah your correct we get ripped of in australia
ZirZamin production ! I hear ya bro. The chespest one in the country is $200k. Aussie used car market is fucked.
What's even more eyepopping than the speed is the repair bills.
You should do a video on the Audi S8 in comparison :)
Most of these cars are leased. The retail price is no where near what the actual price would be if people paid cash for their car.
I’m 13 years old and I don’t understand why the AMG products devaluates so much, can someone explain to me please?
I am considering it... they can be had with low teens miles for about low 80ks. Now, I also want a 911 CS, or E63s, or an Aston... good times for some low mileage used cars and the bitch of depreciation.
Depreciation yes, but not $100,000 in 1 yr...too exaggerated.
One of my dream cars. It’s beautiful.
mercedes are so good they could put whatever price they like people would still buy them brand new no matter what. thats how it seems to me
Perfect, this means I can afford one, and I work on all of my cars.
I heard if the engine goes, it'll cost 100k to get it replaced by MB if you don't have warranty
Then dont go to MB to get it replaced
Use a tripod or body mount stabilizer for your b roll. It will make a massive difference
Jesse is a good honest Kat 👍
so excited to get one! favorite car ever.
got 1 for 60k this thing is a beast love the interior as well.
SO WHAT. STILL WORTH EVERY PENNY! ONE OF THE BEST COUPES PERIOD!
1:02 CD skip, nice job on the quality check lol
I hate front mounted licence plates.
this is literally the case with all luxury cars. people dont buy them to flip them later and make a dollar lol. they already have enough of those.
AMG stands for ..All my money gone..lol
Its not the car or brands fault that these cars don't hold value in north America its because of the tax registration and insurance they pay for luxury vehicles which makes car like this a pain in the ass to own every where else u go even a 2016 s63 amg goes for 200k used
these are amazing cars. they are built to last. thats why only a fool buys them new. i wait a good 4-5 years and buy it used. best bang for your buck. i cant wait until the s63 coupe is in my price range
Still one of the best in the class. Rich people doesn't give a single fuck about value loss over a year or anyone who's targeting to buy this car.
All coupes, Mercedes, BMW etc always lost huge since the 60th. Low second hand market is the main issue. If you like if, grab it as a bargain .
I thought you were the founder of ETH LOL 2:04
if the repair cost of a Mercedes was less, and Mercedes was willing to give up profit on that end, the value would hold up better and customers wouldn't lose so much on the depreciation side. A lose lose for the customer on both repairs and holding value
The king would be the s65 amg
For the know it alls. Apr 16, 2018 · Long before Porsche built their first production four-door, they helped with the 500E for Mercedes. ... When Daimler wanted to build a hotrod edition of their W124 sedan, they enlisted the help of Porsche.
So what...??? The quality of this car is amazing! What "depreciation" is in your country, doesn't fucking matter...!
Greetings from Germany!
If it weren't for the automotive passion of two guys who love to race. Mercedes wouldn't have the AMG division.
because they are priced way over what theyre really worth?
The best couple ever made
best camera man ever!!!😂
I'm in love with amg in general but I miss the fucking huge scream from the 6.2's but dont get it twisted this a very nice car
What does Jesse do to afford a $250K car at such a young age?
am I the only one who thinks AMG exhaust sounds like blowing into a fan like when you were a kid?
Well i think a problem is how they put the same V8 in a cars that are over 100k cheaper. Not alot of variety when it come to the engine sizes in mercedes.

Darrell Tuttle ok?
who thoguht that 5 years later its gaining its worth back and even more
Because its expensive to maintain and it's not an exotic. People know this so dealers cant sell a used one for top dollar. So the value tanks.
I’m guessing your favorite work is seamless
Nice honest opinion 👍
Happens with all high end cars which aint limited production. No big news. Same story with bmw, audi etc. Best to buy em 2,3 Years old.
The old body coupe ( the CL) looks so much better!
Yupp
I was looking at the speedometer when you did those pulls, and it looked slow as f...! Either you weren't full throttle, or the car isn't that fast
Yupp
Those headlights are impressive
Hey, you should look up used 2014 Mercedes s550 and you will be surprised by the prices
Starts at 2:00
Amos T oof
What’s with the shakey cam glamour shots? Is that done on purpose? Kind of hard to understand when filming a static object.
I love the depreciation for mercedes.
they dont lose the value, price is being adjust for what they are really cost!
There is no way a 2017 S63 loses 100k in value
Khalifa Al Khoori not in retail, but dealership trade in (wholesale) value is 100k below MSRP.
Jesse Peng explain
Khalifa Al Khoori around 60k
Jesse Peng lmao not even. I sell cars. Even the used base model cost well over 70k. This video I bullshit
Jesse Peng what do you do for a living mate?
It was 85k depreciation and he said that the 135k was a trade in offer. Really blurring the numbers on this one.
The reason it lost so much so quickly is because...it was NEVER really worth that much outside of dealership la la land - Signed, AMG owner. music to my ears meaning I can finally get one lmaooooo
Great review, looks like this is a great car to pick up in 4 years, keep up the good work.."Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the way"
Why does the “c63 AMG” sound so much better???
a cure for wellness
Nothing with a full LCD gauge package interior will age well.
this is great for me, by the time in the next two years I'll able to get piss cheap financing for this half a million dollar Mercedes S class in Australia, used they are from as low as $195k AUD rn
89999 low miles s63 coupe
The car didn't depreciate that much. They'll buy for 125k and sell it for 150k. The only reason you're getting a low ball offer is you are selling it less than a year after you bought it. Who buys a 200k car to use for 11months? you should have leased instead
Nice well done 👍
tbh, I don't like how the S coupe looks from the front... I'd much rather have a c63s coupe, especially now, when they will be available with the new interior...
Marcus, I know you probably just misspoke, but the term for torque is pound-feet, not foot pounds.
Even with the heavy depr, its still gonna take 100k USD to buy one with ~20k mileage. Is that bad? Well obviously not considering its 50% off bro
the guys hair is the scariest shit wtf
Don't forget to factor in the amount ifoney for maintenance and repair.
Love this car so bad ass
Love the word depreciation
What’s better? The bc 5.5 or 4.0 s63
People that buy cars like these new have money to their teeth. They know what they’re in for depreciation wise and don’t care
