- This video was taken on November 29, 2022.
It was raining that day, so the gorillas spent their time indoors.
Momotaro slept comfortably in his favorite place, but for some reason Genki kept coming and going near Momotaro.
I couldn't capture it in the video, but Genki threw water at the sleeping Momotaro.
At first, Momotaro ignored it, but after a while, he got angry at Genki.
Then Gentaro and Kintaro, who were playing in a high place, came down, and Gentaro was protecting Genki from Momotaro.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

Wow, Gentaro was so brave and did no hesitate for a second to go after dad to protect his mom. He is afraid of Momo that's for sure but when it comes to protecting beautiful Genki he is the bravest of them all. Good job Gentaro, I'm so proud of you.

As a child he would go to his dad whenever he would get punished and stand in front of him and now seeing him as a sub adult protecting his mother...he still goes to him with those eyes as if saying "sorry pops"
Gentaro has always been my favorite, he is definitely one of a kind and so human-like..
I sure hope the keepers told Gentaro what a good boy he is because he doesn’t seem to get it from anywhere else 🙁

I told you all months ago how he protects his mother against Momotaro. He always goes up to his father after he has hurt either Genki or himself and stares at him expectantly. He is a wonderful, brave, loyal and intelligent gorilla who cares for his family deeply. I'm sure little Kintaro will be the same when he gets older.

ゲンタロウは、家族を守る本能の逞しいシルバーバックになるでしょう。
子供に仲裁されたモモタロウは、素直におとなしくなり、背中を向けて顔を見せませんでした。
人間のように逆ギレしません。
モモタロウの心は、京都の寒空模様でした。
明日は、仲良くしてね。
凄く頼もしくなったゲンタロウにびっくりです、嬉しい反面ゲンタロウの独り立ちの日が近づいているのかと不安にもなります😅それにしても息子2人に責められて少しかわいそうなモモくん😂

I agree. Momo does what he knows. He’s a gorilla! He has grown (evolved?) in many ways. A difficult situation as much as they are all loved by the caretakers. He must feel humiliated. Love the all! ❤️🦍🦍

So she gets up, and it appeared like she was trying to get down the pole by Momotaro, but he was like, "Go the other way!" A light shoving match ensued. Genki didn't hesitate responding with a very loud, and angry alarm scream bark 😱 telling Momo she was not going another way, and to stop being salty. Momo's pride was hurt and he jumped down and scolded Genki then took off running like, "Uh oh!" 🤣 when the entire clan came after him with Gentaro leading 👍. I watch this over and over , MOM really GOES after him she even jumps trying to get to him then THE GREAT GENTARO GOES TO THE RESCUE, he seems like a baby , but he's really BRAVE, he chased his dad for hurting mom , and KINNY stayed by her side,
