- It started from inside the gorilla house in the morning.
On this day, Gentaro was in a good mood and was very tense (laughs).
We go to work on the ground, but it is still raining lightly.
The keepers placed green grass and carrots mainly in places where they would not get wet from the rain.

Kintaro's tantrum begins at 32:49. I call it a tantrum because Momotaro is no where near him 😅 he's just yelling. We didn't see what lead up to Kinny's vocalizations. However, I think Papa Momo is holding Kintaro more accountable for his misbehaviors and rule-breaking. Kintaro tends to act like the lead silverback of their troop some days 😅
And look at Gentaro!! He's maturing so nicely. His back is looking more silver, his skull's sagittal crest is taking shape, and he seems to be a little less afraid of his father. Go Gentaro!! 🥰🦍♥️

Kintaro is over spoiled by mom n dad some what that's why he thinks he bad so or later his mom isn't going to be able to save him I really understand these gorilla moms the babies stay under their care closely until they reach 4 yrs old n stop breastfeeding but when the father steps up n n put them in their place for being out of control n disrespecting the moms get bent out of shape why.i have so much respect for momo he truly loves n cares about his family but he's not to be played with he's the head n he gets it. When he speaks they listens as it should be..

Sometimes I can't tell them apart when he stands a certain way until he looks by the camera or starts walking ...when he was younger he looked like Genki..I had to wait to see his face or he would move then I would know it was Gentaro not Genki😁

If Momo didn't see Gentaro for a few days, what would his reaction be like? I know that he would go crazy without Kintaro.. Gentaro is at that age where he should be with a mate but he is such a big baby it's hard to imagine him with one, lol. But he is showing that he is not afraid of his father anymore. I love him so much.

We didn't see what lead up to kintaro being angry with his father but he was so upset and Genki to the rescue and I loved the stare she gave momo
Rough playing and got him on his foot. Probably bit him while he was hanging Kintaro sometimes kicks Momo in head when he swings.
He's just hanging there to me when he screams at Momo. I couldn't see any injuries at that time.
@quantumbio he licks his foot afterwards while checking on it pretty good. What gorillas do when they get a cut/wound they lick it to clean it like dogs do. Gorillas are literally half human half dog.

27:00 it's not that Gentaro likes spending time on his own, it's that Momotaro won't let him come inside right away, he makes him wait outside for a while first. You can see Gentaro cautiously looking inside to see if he will be allowed in but from his reaction it's obvious that Momo charged at him.

There has to be a delicately managed situation. Where does the mate come from. What zoo can take Gentaro and a wife. It’s not that easy. There are a few bachelor silverback units in zoos, he may have to go there for awhile. That’s what happens in the wild. Zoos have to be willing to exchange animals. It’s tricky.

Yes, Kintaro, Genki, and Gentaro had issue with Momotaro while Kinta was screaming (Kintaro is looking directly at him @ 33:00 and Genki swipes at him from above as he runs by @ 33:05 and stares at him 33:24), but where is the video showing what actually happened?!
why, Why, WHY do they edit videos like this!?? 32:49 jumps from Kintaro playing in the counting room to him screaming his lungs out by the door. The camera was steady and CLEARLY filming the door area BEFORE they edited out what made Kintaro scream like that. Creators like to tell a story using all types of video techniques but the stories I can easily understand will always have a simple order of first “the act”, then “the reaction” and finally “the conclusion”. Starting this family drama at “the reaction” stage left me confused with more questions than answers.

In my opinion and observation at 32:21 Kintaro and Gentaro are playing indoors up top. At 32:28 I notice during playing that Gentaro grabbed Kintaro right leg and bit it. 32:33 that’s when the video footage changed to Kintaro being inside of the study room with Genki. Around 32:44 Genki leaves the study room alone, then at 32:47 video footage shows Kintaro leaving the study room a little after Genki. At 32:49 video footage shows Kintaro screaming in a rage coming off one of the poles by the door and papa Momo leaving to go sit in the door entrance. Kintaro screaming continues until 33:03. Genki who was sitting up top and Gentaro already was looking confused and both not knowing why he’s screaming checks things out because their not sure if papa Momo did anything to Kintaro or not. ❤🦍
Kintaro will not show enough respect to Momotaro until he teaches him too. I wonder if Momotaro bit or pinched Kintaro’s hand, the way Kintaro was shaking it made me this his hand was hurting? Gentaro was about to defend Kintaro when Momotaro ran by.

I think since Gentaro is so big not as big as Momentaro, Momentaro sees him as competition, because he doesn't know he really is his son, and since Gentaro has been nicer to Genki and not knowing that Gentaro is related to family and Kintaro, he sees Gentaro trying to be a father figure to Kintaro and maybe even a potential husband to Genki, that he is trying to take Momentaros place,as the leader, which Genki is not interested in either one of them, and Gentaro thinks of her as a Sargent mom, Momentaro sees things a different way, since he just thinks of Gentaro is just another male, that needs to leave and get his own family, poor Gentaro doesn't understand,he thought of Momentaro as a father, and it hurts his feelings,he wants to be close to parents, but yet he wants to be away too have his own family, he loves brother very much, and he will be a great father one day, hopefully soon.

I don't think we'll ever know why Kintaro is screaming, because the cause has been edited out so they can make up a storyline. Who knows what set him off, but something did. But I have to agree with some of the other comments regarding the condition of that enclosure... it reminds me of an idiot that told me his cats' lone litter box "only needs scooping every 2 weeks.." I don't want to berate the caretakers too much in case they're short-staffed, but that enclosure is unsanitary. Actually, it makes me sad for the gorilla family to have to breathe in the smells and bacteria and try to get around while dodging piles of feces, and it's all over the beams, as well. THAT'S not acceptable. If one of them has a cut, there's a very good chance of it leading to infection. They need more space so that the filth in that room can be cleaned while they're in other rooms, and alternate in that way in order to keep the place decent. They can't be happy living in their own filth. 😢

Does anyone know what that room is that Genki & Kintaro climbed through? Was that somewhere Genki could get her son aid for his foot? Also, it tickled me to see them playing a computerized game 🥰. Do they just need to make the numbers disappear or is there something more? I couldn’t get a good look at the screen.
They have to hit the numbers in proper order, Kintaro can go to 10 and Gentaro goes super fast and he goes to 18. He has been at 18 for years, I don't know why it hasn't been increased ,he does it super fast. They use to do another game for Gentaro, they would show like 8 numbers for like 3 sec and then black them out and he would have to pick in proper sequence where the numbers were. I don't know how he could memorize them so fast and then do it right was astonishing. He was the only one I ever see do it but they haven't given him that game in a really long time.

This is the worst enclosure l have seen for these wonderful animals! Look at Djenkos enclosure,grass ,trees ,caves. These are jungle animals not city animals . I feel so sad to see them living in this disgusting place. I'm surprised animal welfare hasn't condemned it..!!!!
I am going to find out who can be contacted. The male gorillas shuld not be in such cramped quarters together. Just heartbreaking. Their behavior has changed since Kintaro has grown. That place looks filthy, btw.
Isn't there some kind of watchdog group that looks into whether apes are housed properly? Terrible. Their living space is too CRAMPED for FOUR almost-fully grown gorillas. The titles to these videos are disgusting - meant to catch attention but there are people who worry about these gorillas.
