- 最近は昼食の後、オヤツとしてリンゴやニンジンが撒かれる事が多いです。
けっこうたくさん撒かれてますが、１つでも多く食べたいのか、モモタロウは時々ゲンタロウに対して怒ります。
After gorillas have lunch, carrots and apple pieces are sown from the ceiling after a while.
There is a quantity that everyone can eat, but Momotaro who wants to eat as much as possible sometimes gets angry with Gentaro.
⚠️Momotaro is not seriously attacking.
Gentaro was not injured and continued to eat apples and carrots.

怒られて殴りないになってママが心配してやめて、やめてって言ってるのかな☺️
キンタロウにつきっきりだけどちゃんとゲンタロウのことも気にかけていてゲンキママは本当優しいお母さんゴリラですね。毎回怒られるとき、最後はモモタロウが追いかけられると言う‥😂
コロコロ🌀転がされるゲンタロウ💦。えっ！と思ったけど、反撃してるから親子喧嘩だね。
追いかけっこ後、モモタロウをガン見するゲンタロウ。結構な至近距離😅。
ゲンキ母も、せっかくの💩タイムでも喧嘩仲裁しゃうのねー、さすが妻&母。

Momo wants ALL the food and he didn’t like Gentaro taking more then he thought he deserved. Wow, Momo was rolling him and Mom came into defend her oldest baby. I can just imagine she was telling him to leave my baby alone, you big goof. ❤️😂❤️

I had not seen this one, this shook me to the core. Poor Gentaro, and momma trying to get big angry dad off of her son. Momo has such an aggression for food. My poor Gentaro.
Gentaro's got to learn his place in the hierarchy. No different here than it would be in the wild. Good Dad Momotaro❤

I agree that's small, and better food, u always see 3 kinds, grass, those big leaves and the limbs with leaves, not often do u see anything else! Other places u see tomatos, green.beans, cucumbers, okra, lettuce and so on!

Occasionally, I see fruits and vegetables get thrown from the top of the enclosure building.
And more enrichment, it doesn’t seam like the zoo is doing much to make their life’s less mundane. Their outside and inside place is sooo boring I feel sorry for them.
Glad to read what happened and that it was ok. I enjoy watching this family. I hope Gentaro can go where others are his age and maybe bring in a female for this Troop.... Kintaro would love a little one closer to his age to play with.
The funny part to me, is when he started chasing his dad. Lol...what was he going to do, beat his dad up? And NO, I don’t like to see them fighting, even though he knows better than to get in dad’s GREEDY way when he’s eating. Cudos to mom for trying to help her baby boy!!!
It’s so weird. All silverbacks run after they attack lol apparently it’s a dominance things but to us humans it looks so cowardly lol

Wow! Ive never seen daddy loose his temper like that before usually hes pretty mellow.
Apart from horrifying scene with Momotaro and Gentaro, how funny was baby Kintaro running down the hill with mummy Genki struggling to keep up with him.
First thing when doors open Kintaro runs quickly to get his oranges...he knows exactly where they are..Genki only drools like that when she is throwing down fruit...she greedily puts the fruit in her mouth due to excitement because she loves it immensely.
Poor sweet human gorilla Gentaro he rolled into a ball when Momo got after him...Genki not caring about Momo possibly attacking her steps in protecting Gentaro that tells us all that she is a very good mother..whenever she yells she sounds like an elephant..I love her the most from all the other mama gorillas posted on social media!!!

Even Genki pooped in fear for her son) But protected him anyway. In the world of gorillas, discipline is very tough. He should not forget the rules. But I think Momo was hungry and that's why reacted so tough.
The fact that when Genki cry’s out she sounds like a widow mourning the death of her beloved sends me!
I have seen silverbacks chase and bite son just for looking at him in the eyes. It’s all about respect the alpha gorilla. He eats first, he gets the respect. It’s good lesson for his son but it’s scary for us to watch and mom. She poo herself cause she is upset. She is a good mom. It’s weird cause after the silverbacks attack they let the family chase him. I’ve seen this in other gorilla families and don’t know why.....

Poor Gentaro! How frightening that must have been for him! Momotaro of course could really hurt Gentaro if he wanted to, but he seemed ok once it was all over.

What a great gorilla watching day, from Kinny cutely running fast, dad rolling Gentaro, mom and Gentaro chasing dad to Kinny climbing fast up those bars because mom was climbing. Too adorable, all of it❤💗💕

I noticed Gentaro did not poop this time when Momotaro attacked him. Maybe Gentaro is getting to the point of not being as frightened. Genki was great protecting Gentaro.

Momotaro can be so selfish when there is food around, having been raised without a silverback to guide him on how to behave and treat his children. Hard to watch Gentaro being hurt but it’s not the first time and he’s a tough little boy, worrying that Momotaro could really hurt baby Kintaro if there is food about. Poor Genki has a hard time trying to raise her two boys. 🦍🇬🇧
That's their species, the father gets the best and the most, and then mom and then kids! It's that way in the wild, the head of the family gets it all till he is done!
Momotaro has a very stern face, with his lips always pressed together. I have never seen him interact with Genki - no grooming, nothing!

I'm guessing it looked worse than it really was. But, as someone wrote, at some point, Gentaro will probably seriously challenge Momotaro. If they need to be separated, I wouldn't look at it as a tragedy. It's a son becoming an adult in his own right and moving out to start his own family, which is the way life generally is supposed to go.
Gentaro will probably be moved to another zoo in a year or 2 as he reaches sexual maturity to prevent inbreeding with his mother and maintain genetic diversity. Their are no other females in this group and they're all related except Momotaro who was specifically brought to this zoo to become Genki's mate.
I would really hate to be on the receiving end of a silverback getting pissed off.......for any reason.
I think Genki had her finger bitten off by a previous silvetback....one bite and that's it
@@braska19 how very sad. From what I have read Genki didn't like the other Gorillas and she had lost a lot of weight because of her being so nervous all the time. At the Kyoto Zoo they had a different Silverback before Momotaro but Genki was Not interested in him at all. Then Momotaro came along and it was Love at first sight. Genki is a great mother with 2 beautiful young male Gorillas. I wish Momotaro would play more with his children. He is always so stern looking But Momotaro is very handsome.

As bad as Gentaro is at times, I still did not want him being hurt by his Dad; over food that is. Momotaro should have that same energy when Gentaro is looting Kintaro. Prioritze and focus Dad!

Wow that is a very greedy male, he looks well fed so why is he so food aggressive? Shabani isn't like that, if he gets angry he doesn't attack like that.
Shabani and his brothers were raised by a wonderful father, Kibabu, he was firm but fair and taught his sons well. The brothers are kind and playful with their children.
Shabani is Shabani. Like humans, each gorilla has its own unique character. For example, silverback Oumbi is much tougher and agressive than Momotaro. Momotaro is good silverback, just a stricter than Shabani. Shabani was the youngest son, and could not always answer the older brothers as equal, which is why he is perhaps softer. However, Momotaro’s behavior is usually for the gorilla world. In addition, he is incredibly gentle with his wife, for example. And when he plays with his son he is neat. I think he is in a bad mood when he is hungry. Just like some people.
And then he chases his dad!
WOW. Momotaro flung Gentaro seemingly with one arm right over the rocks and into the pit. He could have really been hurt there. Fortunately, he wasn't.

@@braska19 That's what they do. It's not "Bad Manners", the biggest eat first, chimps, orangutan's all do the same thing. If they see food they take it even from baby's mouth. Then the baby learns the same for later. They're animals, not people.

Mama did stop the discipline. She intervened and sent Momotaro running, with Gentaro close on his heels! I admire her. There she is, salivating like crazy because she's enjoying the treats so much, when her man attacks her boy and she does everything to stop it while holding onto her baby. Respect!

This is the first time I've seen them given something other than leaves and grass.
I think they are such unique animals..... with feelings a lot like our own. This also brings me to the mother gorilla who appears to be eating too much. She needs some extra stimulation. I’m sure the gorillas care takers could come up with something.

Too much fruit isn’t good for their teeth. That’s why Genki only has teeth in the front. They had to pull all her back ones from cavities from eating a lot of fruit at ueno!

No, Momotarou didn't need to discipline Gentaro. He attacked him because Momotarou is greedy when it comes to food and probably saw his son eat too, pieces he wanted. In the end it looked like Momotarou was pouting.

It’s a dominance thing. Momotaro only attacks when it’s being tested. They usually separate them when it comes to meal time. I’m wondering why they didn’t do it this time.
Momotaro has been really grumpy lately. He doesn’t like the cold. It’s making him extremely aggressive. He’s hit Genki twice so far. Gentaro stared him in the eye after and momotaro walked up on him!
I believe the zoo has tried to change feeding habits just a bit so people can see them eating. I think when ever veggies are brought out Momotaro will react aggressively. Too many people complain, they should let the zoo handle it. The people that work there know how to handle it. They know the gorillas. Feedingthem separately seems the best route for this family. The one thing I have been worried about is why Genki is salivating sooooo much. She’s been doing that recently. Why, looks like an allergic reaction, or ....???? That isn’t normal!!!

These are wild animals that react to what their instincts tell them to do. Momotaro is the Silverback and as such the boss and Gentaro's behaviour at times must be challenging and as such warrants a confrontation to keep him in place. He does not seem to damaged by it all and by what I can see it seems more about squealing and display rather than inflicting lasting damage. Seen this often in videos of other groups, the group chasing off a cranky Silverback.
