Well, Xion is an artificial creation modelled after Sora('s memories of Kairi) while Shadow is an artificial creation that just so happened to looked vaguely like Sonic if you squint your eyes. Shadow lost someone important, while Xion is the important person that someone lost (and was killed by the person who lost her btw).
Shadow also reflect's Roxas, so these two fighting would go similarly hard as KHDays' final battle. Xion being both a reflection of Shadow and Maria, while Shadow reflects both Xion and Roxas... I didn't know I wanted this battle before hearing this song, but dang would it go hard

Ending:
After a final clash between Super Shadow and Xion, Shadow wakes up in a white void in base form, and sees Xion in front of him. He prepares to continue the fight, but Xion gestured Shadow to look behind him. He does, and his eyes widen when he sees Maria and Gerald.
Shadow: H-how?
Xion: I realized how similar we are during our battle. I figured that this is the least I could do.
Shadow: … *Smiles* Thank you, Xion.
As Shadow runs to Maria and Gerald, we cut to the real world, where Xion is floating to the ground while holding Shadow’s body, and after placing him on the ground, she says Sayonara to him before flying away.
It was fun to imagine Xion flying for some reason

Perfect timing! Just finished watching the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie yesterday and it was BEYOND PEAK! This is a perfect way to end of the year of Shadow! All I can say is: ALL HAIL SHADOW!
Sayonara Year of Shadow. I never thought about this as a matchup, but now I'm on board with it. The track sounds like one heck of a chaotic struggle between Shadow and Xion.

Deathbattle needs to do this fight, not only are the characters in a similarly multiversal power tier... Xion subconsciously taking Maria's form at the start of the fight while requesting he "put an end to me" would hurt so good

@ Xion and Maria are essentially cinnamon rolls. Change Xion’s appearance to that of Maria and you could easily mistaken her for Maria.
@eyistocaeg5859 If this is Pre-Organization-defection Xion... her appearance changes depending on who's looking at her.
Though I doubt Shadow would see Maria in Xion given what I know on how it works (needs to be someone connected to Sora... else you see a faceless puppet), it would create a heart-jerking moment if it were to happen.
@@13KuriMaster There could be an interesting way to do that in the battle. Have points of the fight showing kind of behind Shadow where from his perspective Xion has the hood up coving their features so it seems like he is fighting a someone with minimal feature while the other points we see her face normally. Kind of like the early parts of 356/2 days before Axel was able to see her face. Then towards the end Shadow would see her face. Be is Xion's typical face or Maria's for whatever reason. Maybe a sort of acknowledgement of the connection that they both have been missing something and are trying to find it or their ability to become than their creators intended.
I hope my explanation does it justice but it would be a really cool detail that fits in with the lore

I'd think Roxas or Vanitas would be more thematically appropriate, as both are mirrors of the main protaganist that were forgotten for a long time before re-emerging and causing chaos. Roxas skirting the line of anti-hero in KH2 before becoming a full hero by the time of KH3.
Whereas Vanitas as an actual, literal Shadow of the main protaganist Ventus. So him fighting someone named Shadow is also fitting considering they were both designed to be an intentionally edgier version of the protag.
Honestly I feel like if shadow had to fight someone from kh it should be Larxene, hear me out
- Both are known for their speed
- Both start as some what good hearted people who end up having amnesia, eventually causing them to act harsher and meaner even to a certain antagonistic point. Shadow having a lot of desdain and wanting revenge for his loss while also feeling hurt due to his past wanting to recover while being hardly able to connect eith new people (plus the stories in his game in wich he is Edgy he Hedgy) and Larxene being transformed into a nobody. This loss of emotions plus the fact that she would be hurt by emotions in the past would translate in a defense mechsnism in wich she would unleash her sadism to avoid that and also be disconected from that and the things she dislikes. While this happend it is implied that she remembers some bits and she admite she does it so she can be with her partner in crime. It is very likely that she would return in the future and have a tsundere like aproach in wich she mellows a bit similar to Shadow
- both departures in the far past are similar in the sense that it comes from the sacrifice of others and are quite literally launched to the world and losing their memories as a result
- They would come from simingly being out
I think there were more but you get the points, I am not sold completly in this mu but I like it more than the other ones and it could have a good banter. In the end the ones you said only have them being reflections of the main character and even so the context is vastly diferent, per example Shadow looking and being similar to Sonic by mear coincidence instead of them being connected
Also I dont see how Roxas comes close to be an anti hero
I wouldn't mind this being a Death Battle.
I'm really liking this so far. Only a few seconds in and I can hear hints of Xion's theme, but still with their own little touches. I love the piano work in the background too.
Not really a Sonic fan, so I won't recognise anything from that franchise, but from a huge KH fan, this feels like a wonderful twist on my favourite character from the franchise.
Absolutely stellar cover art and a track-the perfect way to end the Year of Shadow.
I literally just got out of the cinema after watching Sonic 3. This cannot be a coincidence.

Xion: (*watches as this hedgehog fights off these robots, destroying them all*)

Shadow: (*turns towards Xion and hears her say that, raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms*)

Xion: (*takes a step back in shock, summoning her Keyblade*)

I’m surprised at how popular Xion is! She’s got two (I think) comm tracks now. Is she heavily involved in the plot of KH as a whole?
not really, but she has a very dedicated fandom and she's absolutely loaded with imagery and symbolism you can make death battles out of
3. Cell, Nier, and now Shadow.

She is very important to the overall story because of something that she does in the game that she debuts in, and she's very popular with fans due to having a tragic story, but she's not really involved in most of the games because most people in universe forgot about her for a while.
In the series overall, no. But she is one of the central characters in the game that precedes KH2 storywise, with a story and character arc that has left a strong impression on some players, while her interactions helped expand on some recurring characters beyond how they were presented in previous games.

I think shadow wins personally
yes while Xion is a skilled and powerful fighter, especially with her Keyblade and connection to Roxas and Sora, Shadow has the edge in speed, strength, durability, and versatility. His Chaos abilities, energy projection, flight, and Super Shadow transformation give him an overwhelming advantage. Shadow’s combat skills and raw power would likely overwhelm Xion's more limited abilities, even if she is a capable fighter in her own right.
@ and shadow was started by the creators to be his strongest state in sonic x shadow Generations in 06 he could keep up with Solaris a 4th dimensional being that could eat space and time and shadow didn’t go super go super in generations meaning he should be stronger than that in base and he didn’t even take his inhibitor rings off

Sora fought someone like sol at least on a power lvl type way. He did that in base form as well. Hence why I said does 2 because they some what match sora. Composition
The track "Blossomed" is a Progressive rock with video game chiptune elements. The main theme is a mix of the Cave Theme from Super Mario Bros. 2, Peach's first playable game, and Little Big Planet from Sonic CD, Amy's very first appearance. There are a few cues from certain soundtracks and songs: The Castle Theme from Mario 64, Grand Metropolis from Sonic Heroes, and the main theme from Mario & Sonic and the Olympic Games for the finale.
Title
The title is a pun relating to real peach blossoms and blossoming roses, but more importantly, it describes how they've grown from damsels in distress to capable, playable characters. And character development with Peach becoming more independent, saving others like the Mario Bros. and Amy wanting to help others with her love, even though this means spending time away from Sonic.
Cover Art
The cover art is a silhouette of Amy's head wearing Peach's crown (similar to their emblems/logo from the Olympic Games series), that's underneath an open parasol while it's raining petals, with Amy's dress having wings from Emperess Peach's strike, holding the Piko Piko Hammer. And below is Peach's Castle in the setting of Green Hill.

Ahh, well, this isn't Archie Shadow.... so I'm not sure who is faster... and I'm not familiar with Shadow's most recent powerups from Shadow generations, so I have no context for power scaling here.
But I like Xion, so I hope she's the one taking the W.

Well, in the King Mickey Vs Yoda death battle, they said that Sora beat the Olympic Titans, which not even Zeus could beat, as a reason to scale Sora (and by Extension Mickey) to Zeus's literally rearranging several stars/Planets to effortlessly make a new consolation feat....
In the same death battle, they clocked a different KH character, Roxas (and scaled Mickey to him as well) at.... okay I forget the numbers, ut they said he was able to basically fly 3 galaxies of distance under his own power in no time at all.
Xion is illiterately a(n imperfect) replica of Sora that got her power by draining strength from Roxas... so she has a better claim to that scaling then Mickey did.
If your not a fan of DB's scaling... which I could not blame you for, I have a couple doubts on those feats... I think the "Vs wiki" had her at low multiversal power wise and definitely having relativistic reaction times at least.... if I am remembering things correctly.
And I am totally Okay with standing by that relativistic reaction times as she uses light magic, has likely had to dodge attacks from other user's of light magic and definitely scales to Roxas (for the earlier stated reason) who definitely had to dodge it when fighting her (Spoiler alert.... she was a 4 stage climax boss fight in 358/2 Days... you had to dodge light attacks as someone who the playable her is a skin swap of).
It is an important plot point in kh that characters cant reach the speed of light while I have heard of people claiming there are good arguments for Shadow being able to do so
As for Mickey vs Yoda, yeah, death battle got it completly wrong in Mickey's scaling

@@Annihilate0405Shadow still has his inhibitor rings he can take off to unleash his maximum power which i think would be enough to give him the edge, even if she does outhaxe him how would she get around his super form's virtual invulnerability?
She has all of Sora's KH1 Abilities and then some. Xion can create pillars of light to attack(even multiple at once) and can light up the arena to increase her durability. Xion can also copy the weapon and abilities of her allies, such as Sïax's Claymore and Berserker Ability in KH3, though how she did that is unknown. Xion was also originally built to be a Memory Leach, subtly absorbing Roxas' power and existence over time. In her Post-KH3 form, that's no longer a problem, but I don't think think it'd be applicable either way since it only affected Roxas and Sora. She wasn't draining everyone around her.
Provided certain Devices, Xion can also transform into stronger, armored variants, the properties of each depending on what World she's fighting on. The only exception is her Giant Form, which seems to be her power stretched to its limit. On top of dual wielding, aoe attacks, and dark vortexes(or black holes if you wanna interpret it that way), Final Xion is able to manipulate the space around her to a degree, creating an arena in the air for Roxas to move upon during their fight.
Of course, we never saw what Final Xion was actually capable of, since she was pulling her punches to the best of her limited ability during that. Her armored forms seem to have come at the cost of some of her free will, enabling her to be puppeted by Xemnas.
She's also one of the two most difficult data fights.

She isnt, she was created as a tool puppet who just happend to unexpectively develop a mind and heart of her own. She dosent have amnesia either, she dosent have a past to remember. She is more similar to that robot from Adventure

@@Annihilate0405While there is a time limit, Frontiers buffs the maximum time it can be used. And I imagine it would give more then enough time for the fight to happen given Shadows much higher quantifiable speed (Death Battle I think placed it somewhere in the trillions FTL)

I would beg to differ. People tend to underestimate just how powerful Sonic characters actually are. In my opinion at max power Xion would only win in haxes with her magic, Shadow would take most physical categories
@@blueblaze8105 Yeah, this is what I agree with. Xion's not a slouch physically, no one with a Keyblade is, but her magic is what's going to make or break her in the fight. And unlike others like Sora, she doesn't really have much to null Shadow pulling a Chaos Control on her other than to facetank it, which she does have the durability to do. (Xion hasn't shown Sora's skill using Stop magic or the Slow spells the BBS trio have used, and has not fought Young Xehanort who's gimmick is stopping time)
I think it's 6/4 in Xion's favor, but if Shadow has the Emeralds it ends up going 7/3 in his favor instead because Xion just has no way to stop Super Shadow.
@michaellevin2861 exactly The thing is about Xion is her powers are nowhere as busted as most of the castle and to access her max power she needs Sora's memory which is impossible to get normally compared to the Chaos emeralds which shadow could have at anytime. And even without the chaos emeralds Shadow has enough powers and advantages to wear Xion down to take the win.
While Shadow is mega cooked here, I am so happy to end his year with such a banger! Happy 2025 everyone!
