Do service dogs need to be certified and have an ID?

Businesses will sometimes ask if a service dog is certified or if you have an ID. There are websites advertising to get your dog registered as a service dog. But are IDs and certifications really needed? Are there any laws requiring service dogs to be registered and certified? There needs to be better laws cuz when they ain't trined to ADA standards they yell well its a service dog in training. Service dogs are NOT the only animals allowed in public places, many places welcome ESD and many ESD go where the public is.

She is talking about public access, which is under the ADA. You are talking about housing, which is under the FHA. I believe that under the FHA they can require verification of disability. You need to read both laws.

But,do u need to have a tag on ur dog back saying service dog ,which many people don't do it nowadays ,and it's sad,cause if a person sees the tag ,that says service dog ,the person will not question you any further about ur id

Legally, under federal law (ada.gov) you don't even need it to be marked as a service animal.
