Dear Laurie at Doggy U- My granddaughter wants your course ASAP! What is the name of the course and what do I need to do to guide her to this training? Is it the "101" training? BTW- The video was so great! Blessings.
Hi Lumorales! I have two different courses, Service Dog 101 and Behavior Interruptions and Alerts. If you're looking for the one from the video, you can find that here: courses.doggyu.com/p/bia If you click on that link, you can learn more about the course, and if you scroll down to the bottom, you can preview the curriculum. If your granddaughter is new to service dogs, the Service Dog 101 course covers service dog laws, etiquette, choosing a service dog, training timelines etc (but it is not a dog training course - it's a course that prepares the human for the nuances of moving through the world with a service dog). You can find that course here: courses.doggyu.com/p/service-dog-101 Hope that helps you decide which is right for your granddaughter!
Hello! I have questions and if you could reply that would be absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, my toy poodle is my SDIT, she only has one problem I can’t get through. That is she whines when I pause while walking and she has trouble focusing on me. I’ve tried your focus games and I can’t get it… if you have any tips they would be greatly appreciated!❤❤
Can I use touch as my word? Also her touch has a nose boop to paw, which i don't mind....should i then change the word to paw? I feel like touch works. Her touch started as contact with the back or front of my hand. Then I starting puting my hand on shaking leg and saying touch. Then waited for a paw on leg
You can use any word that works well for you and that you can be consistent with. The course will go over a really thorough training protocol for the nose boop alert that creates a solid underlying behavior which translates to more reliable responses.
@@candacemarieswearingen1675 Thank so much for purchasing! yep! It's currently in pre-sale. I do it this way because it helps cover some of the up-front cost of doing a course like this (it takes me months to get it all done and ready to go! :)). But module 1-3 are released on Friday! 💃
This was really helpful! Thank you so much! My service dog, Apollo, has been doing wonderfully. But he does not always alert and I wanted to ask if you have any tips on how to get him to the point of alerting every time.
Hey Wren! Glad you enjoyed the video! I have an entire course on creating a really solid and consistent alerting behavior. It's very much a step by step guide to help ensure that both the alert and the full task are proofed. You can find that here: courses.doggyu.com/p/bia Happy Training!
Yes this is very interesting, are there some dogs that are just compassionate? My son's dog Pitbull, always lays on top of me and kisses me when my anxiety is high. She will come from other end of house & start soothing me?
Some dogs are definitely more cognizant of our emotions/stress, and it's likely they can recognize changes in our body, like our scent, when our anxiety is running high.
When I click on the link (get it!) for the free mini course nothing happens I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the website or I’m not looking in the right place…
Can you use a different alert for a different behavior? Like if I'm shaking my leg could the alert be a paw on the leg, and if the alert is spacing out, or faster breathing could it be a boop?
Hey Hershey! You can sign up at Patreon.com/doggyu There are a few different membership levels, but all members receive the presale discount code for the additional 20% off :) I hope to see you there!
I've been waiting for this course! I've done most of my training on my own, and then I found you on line. How long do we have to complete "Behavior Interruptions & Alerts Course"? Also can you tell me where to find a decent clicker online?
Hey Jewel! I'm so glad you're excited for the course! You actually have 2 full years from date of purchase to access the course. That way you can review the material as needed. I also wanted to be sure you could work on foundation skills with a puppy, and then revisit the alerting portion as the pup gets older and more mature. As far as clickers go, a little bit depends on personal preference. I like this style: amzn.to/3UOJeXB

Unfortunately, I am not open for clients or consults. However, if you have a question, check out my options on Patreon to ask a question during my monthly live Q&As! www.patreon.com/posts/welcome-to-heres-108817050
I pull my hair when I have an panic attack is there anyway I can train my dog to help
( i do wanna try and get him verified to be a service dog cause I don’t feel it’s that bad
You can absolutely teach a dog to interrupt hair pulling using the technique outlined above. If you need step-by-step help, check out my course: courses.doggyu.com/p/bia
If you're looking for the one from the video, you can find that here: courses.doggyu.com/p/bia
If you click on that link, you can learn more about the course, and if you scroll down to the bottom, you can preview the curriculum.
If your granddaughter is new to service dogs, the Service Dog 101 course covers service dog laws, etiquette, choosing a service dog, training timelines etc (but it is not a dog training course - it's a course that prepares the human for the nuances of moving through the world with a service dog). You can find that course here: courses.doggyu.com/p/service-dog-101
Hope that helps you decide which is right for your granddaughter!
I just got a puppy and im training it to be an service dog and these fideos helps ty-!
I’m so glad! Happy training!
Zo erg bedankt dat je deze video’s maakt ❤
You're welcome! 💜
You can use any word you like when training. The easier to remember and shorter it is, the better!
You can use any word that works well for you and that you can be consistent with. The course will go over a really thorough training protocol for the nose boop alert that creates a solid underlying behavior which translates to more reliable responses.
@@DoggyU I signed up for the course! I'm excited. I did not realize I have about six days to be able to actually use it.
You can find that here: courses.doggyu.com/p/bia
Happy Training!
@@DoggyU Thank you so much! I will be using this when I get home today!
not sure if any other dog can give me as much of a warning as Stella does as she has given me as much as a nine hour warning of a migraine coming
Wow that’s a ton of warning. What a special dog!
@@DoggyU I was shocked when we realized that one day about three months back
@@DoggyU if I try to ignore her she gets pushier the closer to it hitting me
Is that why my dog starts ruining stuff when I start picking my face?
How would you train for something such as dissociation or increase in BP?
I believe Feywild Dogs has some courses on BP. I do not have any resources on that type of training as it's not my specialty.
My dog doesn’t notice anything. 😂
@@irritatedslightly In the course I actually address what to do if your dog isn't noticing the behavior you need interrupting :)
When I click on the link (get it!) for the free mini course nothing happens I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the website or I’m not looking in the right place…
If you’re on Doggyu.com, you just need to sign up for the newsletter and you’ll get an email with the course link :)
Can you use a different alert for a different behavior? Like if I'm shaking my leg could the alert be a paw on the leg, and if the alert is spacing out, or faster breathing could it be a boop?
Yes - you can absolutely train the dog to alert to or interrupt different behaviors with different interruptors.
I have my dog jump and get in my face when I have a panic attack. I cover my face while standing and hyperventilate.
How do I do patron?
Hey Hershey!

I hope to see you there!
