This is so demotivational, one of the people said he made $40 his first year. Most of the younger generations aren't that privileged, we are working 4 jobs, 7 days a week, just to afford a roof over our heads. We can't afford to be broke for a year just in hopes that next year we will be successful.
I’m also in the business. Best ticket was $20,000 32 roofs done in 3 days. You don’t need a suit and tie or a doctors degree to make some serious money.
Wait. So you can drive up, unload, set up, climb onto a roof, do the whole roof, climb down, clean up, load back up and drive away in 45 minutes? Or was that with a crew of a half dozen pressure washers all working at once?
You must live in a big city lmao I don’t I live almost 2 hours from a major city and there’s no shot I could land something like that around here. Most I made in a job is $500. Purely depends where you live at. Higher cost of living areas like cities you can expect to be paid more.
I started off with buying a Ryobi pressure washer from Harbor Freight for around $80 and bought a better wand for it. Drove around a couple of neighborhoods and pressure washed small driveways for $50-$100 per. Took pics and posted on social media along with contact info. Business has been jumping off since then. Doing it for almost 2 years now as a side hustle and have made over $150K.... Thinking about going full time and hopefully double that.
That's interesting. Do you have a water tank? Do you have have a pickup truck. I was thinking of just doing driveways part time, just as a side hustle. I like your story. You got to charge more than $100!! What state?
@markj6681 that was then. Yes I have a pick up truck a water tank and a generator. But the difference now clients don't have a problem with me using their water and electricity so it makes a world of difference. So now that I have a nice reputation with all of them plus new clients I was able to actually quit my full time job and do this full time. The reason why I charged up to $100 was because at the time the neighborhoods in Tennessee people have short driveways. But now I charge $250 per driveways for residential areas for a certain square footage. Anything more than that range I charge more but still keep it affordable for most of my clients. It's the HOA you want to look for because they have no choice but to keep it their areas clean or else they'll get a fine and of course they don't won't to pay those fines and don't want to do it themselves really. So I have a whole neighborhood to myself consisting of 125 houses ranging from $250-$550 per. I do this for every house every month so they money is crazy good just to play in some water at the clients expense. So what did I do with my water tank and generator you ask, I now also provide a trash can cleaning service. I charge $25 for the first can and $10 for each additional can. I treat the cans with a pre-rinse of bleach and all purpose cleaner. Then use my pressure washer and foam cannon to soap it up real good then use a long handle brush to start the initial cleaning inside and out before pressure washing with the rinse. Then I dry the cans with my blower then use a pump sprayer to add a fragrance to the cans. PEOPLE LOVE IT. I hope this helps and good luck with your potential success
@@dongordon7225how did you secure all those houses in that neighborhood? Door to door or did you talk with HOA and they sent emails to everyone about your service? I started my pressure washing company 10 years ago. I averaged 40k in profit the first 2 years but now profit about 75-80k a year working 4 hours a day. It can be done, but it took years of learning the process, how to utilize detergents for the best results, how NOT to damage surfaces, and how to grow my business via marketing, networking, and word of mouth. I have spent over 60k on rigs and have been through 2 trucks. Its not an easy business.

Such a positive comment. And it shows you know what you're talking about. People want to learn from people like you. Especially what you say about how to mix chemicals, how not to damage surfaces and how to grow the business. Would you consider teaching what you know?

I’ve pressure washed a bunch of patios and what not in my life, pretty small stuff. But I washed my deck recently and it took forever, I was very sore after doing it. Arms and back. I can’t imagine doing this all day like this, it’s actually pretty physically demanding
I see lot of comments from people that don't know what their talking about or doing things wrong. If you are in a place or state where you don't make money in the business you run, look for the problems. Maybe you are in the wrong state or place for the job you do as an entrepreneur. If people don't value your prices, change the place where you live, or change the work you do. Look for what is needed in that area. Being an entrepreneur is more than just the money. Doing research before you start a business is crucial. People just think that entrepreneurs make lot of money. But that's wrong. There is way more than that before even starting with a business. I 'm an entrepreneur for 14 years, and it is hard work, research, always learning new things, be able to find solutions for problems, and so on. Easy money does not exist.
Easy money does exists it's called being a politician than businesses like you want to vote for. Like Trump. He slashed taxes for very specific businesses and everyone thinks it actually helps them....
Do you really think it's easy? I am in the pressure washing business and no it is not easy. It is hard work. It depends on where you are and you can go days to a couple of weeks without a client. Do not fall for the easy game IT TAKES HARD WORK. You need to do your research, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. Sure it is easy to get in it but you can damage something if you do not know what you are doing. People see the money but people don't realize that there are upkeeps to the equipment, insurance, truck payments, trailer payments, chemicals, and so on. You might walk out with a couple of hundred bucks, and it depends on how many you have booked for that day. the first couple of years it's going to be hard or it could be hard forever who knows. Know what you are getting into.
Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts and reminding us of the challenges and hard work involved in the pressure washing business. It's important to do thorough research and understand the potential risks before starting any business.
Exactly. I hate all these “click bait” videos on “make big money doing…” bull shit. If everything was that easy to make a ton of money doing, there wouldn’t be 99% of people in the world living poorly.
@Jobber GTFO bet you weren't even a legal American. Dems basically give you a life for free at this point. Now pay taxes to offset mine that you most likely siphoned.
@iwasright9686 That's the new media for you, never show the true method or how many skeletons are in their closet to get that far. Always pretending ANYONE can do it BS.
I've been PW for almost a year now. Hustling my 2.5 gpm, making my own flyers, canvassing door to door. I'm literally a 1man army trying to build my business. Unfortunately, I live in CA and it ain't easy.
Keep on hustling, make connections, get job site contracts if you can. For those who don’t know why CA is tough, it’s because we don’t encounter the mold and algae growth like say in TX or FL. Driveways stay clean for years for the most part other than the oil stains. I just moved to TX and man it’s way different out here. Every building and piece of concrete needs it out here.
@@DjSource20California is a problem because the mild climate does not create as much mold and mildew as say Florida does. Also, they are banning gas powered engines. My 5 GPM Honda can not be sold in California. California is way over regulated and it makes running a business very difficult.

There is so much ignorance, & maybe male bravado, in the detailing & cleaning worlds it seems. I assume most don't read the SDS's and therefore aren't aware that the person selling you that chemical put in tiny letters "really don't breathe this in, let it touch your skin or face, or you are going to get injured & we're not even really sure how you could get hurt or how badly". I always cringe when someone is talking about some new detailing chem and they take a biggggg whiff to tell me about how great it smells....uhhhh yeah no thanks I don't want to ever smell these chems, that means lung mucous membranes are intaking it & the label says thats really really bad... lol

Location. Your neighbors are cheap, broke, and or a combination of both. Go to neighborhoods where people have more money than time, not the other way around. You have to offer something that people want but to not want to do themselves. Middle class and lower, folks will either do it themselves or go without.
right now in this day and age with high rise in living expenses as well as inflation the best job too have as a contractor is definitely this, not just pressure washing business but anything that involves renovations for a property or maintenance, people are lazy nowadays or have no time to maintain their property due to excessive work hours, you make more from renovation of existing houses than residential construction due to the drop rate of real state
@@journeywithjay3197 STANDING for long periods of time doing that work, WILL mess with your back. You can try to wear a lower back belt to help (depends how bad yours is.) The bending part (putting strain on your back) would be connecting and disconnecting the hose to the pressure washer (rig like his would make it easier than using basic gasoline pressure washer machine off the floor.) Overall, business like that can and more than likely WILL give you pain; considering your back issues. You can always try it first. Rent a regular pressure washer machine, and clean few driveways to see how you feel after it.
I myself have been looking into starting a business like this. I used to clean air conditioners once upon a time until I became a prison guard. Since I got injured and can’t work in the prison industry anymore, I’ve been out of work for a long time.. Some friends have said “do a pressure washer cleaning business it’s easy, all you need is a hose and pressure washer” I disagree with that. There are way more sophisticated aspects than just owning a pressure washer. Different machinery, tools and equipment, appropriate chemicals, insurance, attention to detail, professionalism, social awareness, safety awareness

Or are some of you connecting to the customers hose/water line? Most companies I've witnessed in my full time job, they use a connection on site. Just curious.
Depending on the tactic, marketing expenses can be costly. There are plenty of low cost ways to help grow - you can check out the other videos in our pressure washing series. It's important to plan and budget accordingly to ensure your pressure washing business's success.
I know 12 companies in my town. Every Tom dick and Harry has a pressure washer. These businesses only work in the suburbs for residential or in the city for Comercial. In the country and residential cities, nobody can afford to pay 150 an hour so they hire the landscapers to do it for 50 an hour
Hi there! You don't necessarily have to start a new LLC if you're adding janitorial services to your existing trucking business. You can operate both businesses under the same LLC, as long as they fall within the scope of your LLC's articles of organization. However, you may want to consider updating your business name or filing for a DBA (Doing Business As) if you want to operate under a different name for the janitorial services. Of course, it's always best to consult a professional if you're unsure!

So can anyone help me/us with some basics here? If we want to start by trying to just get a few driveway jobs here and there. I already have a good washer. Do most people let you use their water if you charge less? How much do tanks usually cost? Where do you buy them? How do you determine how much to charge? Is it ok when you start to just do it under your name without a business license if you’re not doing anything risky, ie. Just drives and sidewalks until you can see if you’re actually going to be able to make a business out of this? Thanks

we've reached the part of the online guru cycle where the people selling the lifestyle of being a pressure washer have moved on to "selling the shovels" - aka, they are selling people on how great being a pressure washer is, yet their business is in making a profit from youtube engagement and selling courses, or selling the chems & turn-key trailers as we see with this industry. In car detailing they start to sell courses & the chemicals. First big sign that the established players in before the big rush have come to realize the occupation is not as easy as before because its saturated, so they move to sell to their previous competition using their larger amount of experience & knowledge.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Eric!
"4 hours a day" ? Seems very minimal.
@@GasMaskManPNW 4 hours of actual physical pressure washing. There are hours for traveling to the site, setup, etc etc and time spent running the business side.
Don't lie to people then. Just like the people in these videos. They gross 200k, not profit. I bet they spend 45% min
Such a positive comment. And it shows you know what you're talking about. People want to learn from people like you. Especially what you say about how to mix chemicals, how not to damage surfaces and how to grow the business. Would you consider teaching what you know?
Super motivating video. Especially seeing the father with his son. I have a 5 year old and my goal is to have a business that he can take over and run from behind the scenes.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video, and best of luck starting your business. We have two more videos in the series to help you along your journey! You can check them out on our channel.
_Little KJ got a bright future ahead of him._
He sure does!
I lived in a house once on a well where the pressure washer would run the well dry.
I’ve pressure washed a bunch of patios and what not in my life, pretty small stuff. But I washed my deck recently and it took forever, I was very sore after doing it. Arms and back. I can’t imagine doing this all day like this, it’s actually pretty physically demanding
because you adapt. no different than weight lifting, sking.
Great Job Jobber Crew! Great People, same line of work, different styles. Beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your insightful perspective!
Lol what a crap comment. Can't make money? Just spend money and move.....
Agree. The results make everything look easy. Plenty of people doing the same and hardly make a profit.
Wow!! love all the facts and the potentials of making money! This is inspiring!

The key is to get contracts with your local trash company or the city that picks up your trash and HOAs
Great suggestion!
How would I go about doing this
I've been PW for almost a year now. Hustling my 2.5 gpm, making my own flyers, canvassing door to door. I'm literally a 1man army trying to build my business. Unfortunately, I live in CA and it ain't easy.
You're doing an incredible job! Keep pushing forward with your dedication and hard work, you've got this! 💪🏽👍🏽
Why is CA a problem?
Yes please elaborate on why California is a problem
Great video! Some key points were highlighted that I hadn't heard anyone else discuss. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment! We hope to bring more quality videos like these to our viewers. Stay tuned 😎
Do you use the customers water if you don't have that fancy setup? If so do you minus the water used on the bill of purchase?
Depends on the job and how much they pay. I've had to fill 500 gallon tanks for free and I've charged 30% extra on water costs for others
I worked for a pressure washing company, we always used the customers water source. It wouldn't hurt to verify before hand though
Loved the Video great inspiration not only for the businesness shown..
I am on my third year in business doing 100k in revenue. Watching these guys soar to the top is the most inspire and thing. However the guy's spraying bleach absolutely need a respirator. I hate to see a business owner creating that sort of environment for their workers.
Congrats on the success of your business! Thanks for sharing your feedback with us.
I always cringe when someone is talking about some new detailing chem and they take a biggggg whiff to tell me about how great it smells....uhhhh yeah no thanks I don't want to ever smell these chems, that means lung mucous membranes are intaking it & the label says thats really really bad... lol
@@MarkTrades__ You would not believe the level of protection that my employees wear on the job. Where mixing up chemicals and applying them to very large areas at PH 13-14. I'm considering starting a pressure washing company as well. What's the duration you'll need to wear a respirator for while you're doing a cleaning job? Is it only while you're spraying using chemicals?

Man, I bought a 3100 psi gas power washer and a water tank and pump to supply water, I drove around my neighborhood and started cleaning all the drive ways, no one wanted to pay, what am I doing wrong?
We have a video about how to get customers and jobs, check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/Qww8raxL8WQ/v-deo.html
Location. Your neighbors are cheap, broke, and or a combination of both.
Go to neighborhoods where people have more money than time, not the other way around.
You have to offer something that people want but to not want to do themselves.
Middle class and lower, folks will either do it themselves or go without.
Great Video! Nice Job!
right now in this day and age with high rise in living expenses as well as inflation the best job too have as a contractor is definitely this, not just pressure washing business but anything that involves renovations for a property or maintenance, people are lazy nowadays or have no time to maintain their property due to excessive work hours, you make more from renovation of existing houses than residential construction due to the drop rate of real state
People say I can't make money... These guys prove them wrong!
Absolutely!
Imagine when the migrants get pressure washer and do it for half the cost. It's already happening in houston
How is this on your back? I've got a bulging disc so my back is often pretty tight. But this doesn't seem like a lot of bending?
The longer the wand, the less bending you'll have to do. A surface cleaner doesn't really require a lot of bending over, thankfully.
@@Guigley awesome thanks so much
@@journeywithjay3197 STANDING for long periods of time doing that work, WILL mess with your back.
You can try to wear a lower back belt to help (depends how bad yours is.)
The bending part (putting strain on your back) would be connecting and disconnecting the hose to the pressure washer (rig like his would make it easier than using basic gasoline pressure washer machine off the floor.)
Overall, business like that can and more than likely WILL give you pain; considering your back issues.
You can always try it first.
Rent a regular pressure washer machine, and clean few driveways to see how you feel after it.
great video folks

I myself have been looking into starting a business like this. I used to clean air conditioners once upon a time until I became a prison guard.
Since I got injured and can’t work in the prison industry anymore, I’ve been out of work for a long time..
Some friends have said “do a pressure washer cleaning business it’s easy, all you need is a hose and pressure washer”
I disagree with that. There are way more sophisticated aspects than just owning a pressure washer.
Different machinery, tools and equipment, appropriate chemicals, insurance, attention to detail, professionalism, social awareness, safety awareness
Another point: using harsh chemicals can distroy lawns, plants etc. Additionally it will destroy your body breathing it in. Serious lung issues.
Does this business work in places where it rains a lot??😅
Thank you for the video. Where can I find a company who makes a rig for power washer trailer like that?
Glad you enjoyed the video! We'd recommend checking out local dealerships or online platforms that specialize in commercial vehicles. It's always best to start your search in your local area to make the process easier. Best of luck!
There’s about 700 power washing companies in my small town.
What chemical solution would you recommend buying? I have a 3200 psi washer but wanted to use it for aoft washing also
I'm just really trying to figure out how to start my pressure washer Is it the pull thingy or the button do they both have to be on?
Easier then any it job and much more chance to growth

What thypes of work do you do in the off season
I own a very large size company for this industry 3K day is very rare and it’s a two-man crew. A lot of overhead lotta chemical costs it’s difficult
I do have a questions for those that have started or even those more experience when they did start - are you all purchasing a TANK to start a business? Or are some of you connecting to the customers hose/water line? Most companies I've witnessed in my full time job, they use a connection on site. Just curious.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah they did start with using the customers' water.
How much we charge in Oklahoma???
$80 hour $125 hour
Looks like a service that people buy once and then buy their own equipment to save money.
You will underestimate how much capital you will need for marketing. Quality leads are not easy nor cheap to get.
Depending on the tactic, marketing expenses can be costly. There are plenty of low cost ways to help grow - you can check out the other videos in our pressure washing series. It's important to plan and budget accordingly to ensure your pressure washing business's success.
Videos like this is the reason the market is oversaturated.
It's not as easy as it looks. You have to build and advertise.
I know 12 companies in my town. Every Tom dick and Harry has a pressure washer. These businesses only work in the suburbs for residential or in the city for Comercial. In the country and residential cities, nobody can afford to pay 150 an hour so they hire the landscapers to do it for 50 an hour
I live in Michigan and I think is star something with the power watch can somebody tell me where I need to start?
Where do you advertise your business?

I currently have a trucking business , can I start janitorial services once I add the requirements/permits or do I have to start a new llc ?
All the pressure washer guys I know are jacked with massive forearms. Not saying you’re holding a fireman’s hose. But some of commercial grade stuff is tiring after spraying 8 hours a day. Take it from a work from home guy who tried to help his buddy by who does run a his own power washing business. Shit is brutal if not in shape.
On top of that the networking, initial business on top of that expertise to how to do the job effectively as possible while going as fast as possible to meet all your clients.
Do you bring your own water or use the clients water? I am really trying to get this started
Hi there!
It's standard to use the customer's water. Depending on your equipment, you may also bring a tank to supplement some bigger machines.

Thanks

6-800 for pressure washing and brush? about 800 for pressure washer but those brushes are almost 800 unless you get a cheap ryobi 100 one.
Starting a pressure washing business requires some investment, but there are more affordable options available for both pressure washing brushes and pressure washers, including budget-friendly brands like Ryobi (like you mentioned). Finding a balance between quality and cost can help you get started without breaking the bank.
How much should you charge for a garbage can in the beginning?

we've reached the part of the online guru cycle where the people selling the lifestyle of being a pressure washer have moved on to "selling the shovels" - aka, they are selling people on how great being a pressure washer is, yet their business is in making a profit from youtube engagement and selling courses, or selling the chems & turn-key trailers as we see with this industry. In car detailing they start to sell courses & the chemicals. First big sign that the established players in before the big rush have come to realize the occupation is not as easy as before because its saturated, so they move to sell to their previous competition using their larger amount of experience & knowledge.
Pressure washing big rigs is a big unknown market.
