Fortified feels like it's basically a necessity as a Rune to get through the later stage bosses. My builds with Armor & multi-Status effects from Magic ended up being pretty effective for clearing the demo. Items that Burn & Status both have Mana Regen items, and some really strong Rare/Epic items. Poison has some _insane_ Agility weapons for dealing massive damage with very little investment way more than most other tactics, and no Mana cost.
I love the way Bleed works in this game. Where as Poison and Fire apply at the start of the enemy turn, bleed applies after every enemy action. So if a boss has 3 actions (Attack, Armor, Debuff/Rage), you get 3 bleed procs, meaning a 73 stack of bleed turns into a 73+72+71 damage proc on the enemy as opposed to a 1 turn application of poison or fire. Double throwing knife start transitioning into a Dexterity/Mixed Dexerity build is definitely one of my favorite playstyles
Played this game cause of Tom, definitely going to get it when it releases. Haven't been able to win with a non magic build yet but might try to get a bow build to actually work. Never realized the Staff of Inferno was so good since while I liked doing burn, I think I always misread what the staff did and never picked it up.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1734 Fantastic to see more of this game, as it is indeed a good time :D much hype for more and espesually the full thing Damn, that Fairy do be flapping XD Oh the belt is really cool, always love a unit/item in these games that eats something and keeps growing I would be really interested to see a full axe build, perhaps in future
This game lacks a better typeface, it could be just generic "pixel" one and it'd work, just anything that goes well with the graphics and not just one of the default ones.
Even if the game didn't crash all the time and ruin runs, it is so unbalanced that most builds have little chance of winning. Bows are FAR too random. Even with the "right" equipment, it needs to get slot-machined into the right spots or it does zero damage. So you need 3-5 of the exact equipment, and it's still random whether you will even do damage. Axes are Meh. Even with 4-5 of the really good blue axes and TWO golden Axes, the damage output needed on the final boss just isn't there. Cooldown builds seem good but basically can't beat the final boss. (I cheated in 10x Bandit knives and it still wasn't enough) Flat damage builds are great in the beginning but are basically worthless past world 2. On the other hand, magic builds are dead easy. Burn builds are easy. Poison builds are easy. Bleed builds are easy. Thorns + Armor builds are easy.
I hate how little agency you have in this game. Cool idea, but I dont see how you execute this in a way that allows decent player agency without some serious overhauling in the current system.
These . . . I'm not sure what to call them really. Gimmick rogue-lite? In any case, they usually have some appeal to them but this one is just so passive. There's no skill element involved at all. The only reason it qualifies as a game is that there's strategy decisions that can affect the outcome. I'm glad Tom is enjoying it, somehow, but it's a hard pass from me.
The way Tom ditched the axes immediately before getting 2 good synergy items for axes/strength weapons. Chef's kiss.

The dnd vefsion if an ambull would be a umberhulk
That first boss gives the impression of constantly going 'heh heh heh.'
You don't want to wear a boot on your head, that's madness. - Vermin Supreme- Am I a joke to you?
I was wondering if someone had brought him up.
Tom missed the perfect opportunity to say "come back for another spin" in the beginning 😄

"A second staff of the inferno would have been pretty hot", take my like sir...
I played a lot of this demo this weekend and I’m looking forward to release. It still needs a lot of balancing but it’s fun overall.
Umber Hulk (you're welcome).
I came down here to comment the same thing

The shinobi belt looked like it was multiplying the power by everything in the belt so it was actually doing a lot of work
Again Tom... Not "roulette machine". Roulette is where they spin a horizontal wheel and a ball lands on one of the numbers. This is "slot machine"
I'm excited for the full game of this, really enjoying the demo
The Fiery Pits map was quite the interesting shape... xD
So happy to see more of this
For another run of this, try to make an archery build work.
Yay! I wanted to see a warrior-Mage build!
Well bam, thanks for such a cool game! Well played.
@editors any chance you guys can start putting the link to the game in the description? Smetimes they are hard to find on mobile.
Umber Hulk. D&D.
Who knew Tom was so into Mahna ?
I think you might just be addicted to gambling 😭
Great run!
Good spinning!

DnD Umber Hulk
Yay!
Ouch. This game is bad for Tom. It requires that you read the descriptions and then commit
Please go again with bows, this game looks great

I was thinking the same thing. Don't understand the gameplay loop. Is the player just choosing items?

Oh look, that same demo again that hasn't received any content since the last upload...
Amazin'.
