- Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets is one of the most underrated players in the entire NBA… a guy that just turned 21 years old, put up great numbers in a TERRIBLE situation last year in Houston and only continues to get better, and taller? This guy could be a STAR in the making.

I thought Sengun was gonna make it big this year. I believe he has good work ethic and he`s gonna make it this year. Support from Serbia.
Over the last 10 games of the season, his defensive skills have improved significantly. Also, next season, the assist to turnover ratio will improve greatly as FVV is a skilled CNS player and Jabari is improving his shooting abilities.
It was a gradual improvement over the whole season. The end of the season he just finally got over the hump. And the work put in started showing more consistently.
His stans don't understand how bad his conditioning and defense used to be. And how much he has improved.
It’s been a tough time to be a rockets fan, but he has been a bright spot
We have 7 bright spots on our roster:
JG, KPJ, Tari, Amen, Jabari, Sengun, Whitmore.
Alongside a top 3 coach in the league, an all-star PG, an all-Defense stud, and veteran presence.
It’s our time to shine. Play-in lock
@@NoahFreedmanSlow down. KPJ is a below average point guard in the league. Vanvleet aint an all star pg and the jury is out on most these guys. But there is great potential for sure.
@@Shortballa11🤦♂️
@@Shortballa11 vanvleet is quite literally an all-star PG lol he is a PG that was selected as an All star....
Rockets have some hope this year. They clearly had talent last year and now they have more experience, added coaching and veterans, and in my opinion should be a play in team.
I think it'd be a disappointment if they don't get playin. No excuses.
@@Michael-vn2jj he quite literally isnt an all star point guard PRESENTLY. You dont just make it once and get to carry the term the rest of your career. In that case basically every starting point guard in the league is an all star. D'angelo russell, kyle lowry, etc...
Currently Vanvleet isnt a top 15 point guard.
Im sold on the coach. Im sold on specific players- Sengun, Amen, Jabari, and Tari. I like Brooks and Vanvleet style, but not happy Amen wont be starting. But its still questionable on literally every player. Brooks lost his jumper last year, Vanvleet shot under 40% from the field. All young players still.
The biggest excuse is just the West is so deep. We can name 10 teams that are supposed to make the play offs next year.
Sengun literally going coast to coast in fiba rn, super talented
Thanks for the sengun shoutout ❤
MIP season coming
Couldve been rookie of the year if they started him instead of jalen
As a raptors fan, if VanVleet stops being kinda selfish(refusing to pass the ball to Scottie), he’ll definitely help out Sengun a lot
VanVleet isn’t selfish to his bigs esp the ones he spams PnR with; Sengun should be fine as long as he set brick wall screens 😅
VanVleet really isn't a playmaker. He's more of a catch and shoot guy with a little bit of shot creating so if they let Sengun do the playmaking maybe both can shine
@@kurtcometa4818 hes almost top 10 in APG last year though.....admittedly i don't watch VanVleet games
He‘s gonna miss K-Mart jr. I think they had a great chemistry and K-Mart jr is a great and willing athletic cutter, not sure about KPJ, Amen or Green who rather want the ball in their hands
I wasn’t a big fan of what the Rockets did in free agency, but even I have to admit, a lineup of FVV, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith, and Sengun, with Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore coming off the bench, is fun as hell.
They have a lot of crazy good young talent, but a lot of those young guys have big question marks I worry about. Honestly, out of all of them I probably feel the best about Sengun and Thompson hitting their upside. Most people will say Green, but I worry that he isn’t mature enough to improve his shot selection/efficiency and to learn to play as a team player.
Sengun was specifically told not to shoot 3s this year, so whenever he had open looks he looked uncomfortable but when he shot them they looked good. And apparently he's grown a few inches this off-season, they're saying he's about 6'11 no which would be huge for his game.
as a turkish fan i've been watching his FIBA games and he's alot more confident in his 3 than he was with it on the Rockets.
@@Phos7x ya exactly. when he has the freedom to take them he seems to have a lot of potential to be a good shooter.
@@liamcparrentlet's be real Silas was lying to cover for him. Silas lied about a lot of stuff to cover for stone and the players. That dude was hired to be a scapegoat and he did his job!
So many times actually watching games you could hear Silas and other guys yelling at him to shoot but he would just freeze and drive. Only occasionally he would take it.
But he clearly has been working on it. And is a lot more comfortable shooting threes now. Even just comparing outside the NBA.
@@wuzi7049 I dont know what you're talking about tbh lol silas was hired before there was ever a rebuild, he was hired before russ and harden requested trades, he was brought in to win and got stuck with in a bad situation, and didn't handle it very well. i watched 95% of rockets games the last 3 seasons and you're just straight up wrong. official reporting says silas told sengun not to shoot 3s
@@liamcparrent I watched every rockets game since 2009. I know I'm not wrong about the fact that Silas was hired to be a scapegoat, and he lied about a lot of stuff to protect stone and the players.
The rockets were past the tipping point already. They didn't have anymore money, and didn't have their own picks. The rebuild truly started during the 2019 season.
Before they hired Silas they knew they were going to tank, that was the reason they got someone with no experience. And advertised it as more.
Harden asked to be moved before Silas was hired. And was only not allowed to be traded. Because Tillman wanted him to be the heel, which harden eventually did and was immediately allowed to be traded. Though Tillman still refused the perceived best deal at the time with Philly.
The tank was always set to last until this upcoming season. Because this season is the first they don't have their own pick.
The rumors of Silas being a scapegoat were immediate. And proved to be true. With things like him taking blame for things players and stone did. And often lying to take heat off the players who were struggling so badly because of their lack of vets on the roster. And such an extreme rebuild. Setting multiple records for the youngest active roster in NBA history.
Hell stuff like Silas saying they don't run plays was a blatant lie that fools ate up.
You are right about defense but biggest reason is that in Turkish Basketball League our refrees do not use their whistle often like in nba. So he can defense but he has OG defense skills where he got phisical. So he try to do that and plus he was rookie so result is a lot of foul call some right some just bs. So his solution at the moment keep calm in defense. When he made his name and refrees treat better you might see good plays in defensive side.
With the additions of FVV, D. Brooks, and Amen, as well as the continued improvement of young guys like Sengun, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, and Tari Eason, I could see the Thunder getting a mid-to-late lottery pick this year.
Green should be out. A rudy gay in the making
@@markjayvillamayor4625crazy take. Jalen green has amazing potential
Great video chief, you analyzed him better then most most of UA-camrs

Great breakdown and great vid! Only wish you had highlighted his low-post scoring a bit more
ua-cam.com/video/ik1vSX-3szc/v-deo.html
He feels as over hyped as Austin’s Reaves
Love to see the Jokic effect in the league...
Let’s go consistent uploads
Doing my best!
sengun is different
Why did you just now start making breakdowns these are the best nba videos
It's all go Sengun. If defense is your only problem, they said that about Jokic up until he won a championship. For passing he is reacting to what he see's, where Jokic is throwing people open. Hope he stay's healthy and see where he is when he is 28. Takes a good team organization to bring a player like that along. Sure the NBA will screw it up.
They should try to emulate the Nuggets since they have two main players who can play like Jokic and Murray and everyone else complementing them
It pissed me off so much that they didnt use him as much as they should have.
If he doesn’t improve on defense fast, he’s just going to end up like Valenciunas or Enes Kanter Freedom!
Saçma ikisinin toplamindan daha iyi saha görüşüne sahip
@@ornitorenksever4983 What!?
Those are only post players offensively. Watch the video again and think if those guys would do things Sengun does.
He’s a really good post defender. Hands always up. But it’s when he’s in like drop coverage or something. Hopefully with dillon , Fred, 2nd year tari and Jabari they’ll help him look better on the defensive end
Alpyy
The rockets better do everything they can to keep as many of their young core together for the long haul.
Sengun would be critical long term, and the rockets seem to know that. But together with such dangerous scorers in green and KPJ. And a mean unicorn like jabari. With guys like amen, tari, and tate. They will elevate each other more and more, as they play together and reach their primes.

Do you have another channel? Your voice sounds super familiar
Yea sporting logically
Really sad that Boston has to trade his pick to lose Kemba's contract and for Al. Imagine Sengun with the Jays and RobWill
Who would you rather have Sengun or KAT?
I think it's obvious but curious with all the attention KAT gets, I would rather have Sengun for sure if I'm a young team or a contending team.
Sengun because he plays more got the higher ceiling and is very young
Sengun because he’s aggressive and strong in the paint. Already drawing double teams. And with his vision he’ll make you pay
I’m jumping on the Sengun bandwagon
You don't have to sell me on Sengun's offense. His defense is the problem. I don't see him getting much better on defense. No way you are ever winning a championship with him as the starting center. If only the Rockets could get back Capela somehow.
He'll probably a Boris Diaw type, good passer, below average shooter, average defender, good piece on a good team
Bro said boris diaw LOL
Yes, very similar to Diaw and Domantas Sabonis.

They should trade him for karl anthony towns. Houston would be a real force.
