  • Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets is one of the most underrated players in the entire NBA… a guy that just turned 21 years old, put up great numbers in a TERRIBLE situation last year in Houston and only continues to get better, and taller? This guy could be a STAR in the making.

Over the last 10 games of the season, his defensive skills have improved significantly. Also, next season, the assist to turnover ratio will improve greatly as FVV is a skilled CNS player and Jabari is improving his shooting abilities.

It was a gradual improvement over the whole season. The end of the season he just finally got over the hump. And the work put in started showing more consistently.
His stans don't understand how bad his conditioning and defense used to be. And how much he has improved.

We have 7 bright spots on our roster:
JG, KPJ, Tari, Amen, Jabari, Sengun, Whitmore.
Alongside a top 3 coach in the league, an all-star PG, an all-Defense stud, and veteran presence.

Rockets have some hope this year. They clearly had talent last year and now they have more experience, added coaching and veterans, and in my opinion should be a play in team.
I think it'd be a disappointment if they don't get playin. No excuses.

@@Michael-vn2jj he quite literally isnt an all star point guard PRESENTLY. You dont just make it once and get to carry the term the rest of your career. In that case basically every starting point guard in the league is an all star. D'angelo russell, kyle lowry, etc...
Currently Vanvleet isnt a top 15 point guard.
Im sold on the coach. Im sold on specific players- Sengun, Amen, Jabari, and Tari. I like Brooks and Vanvleet style, but not happy Amen wont be starting. But its still questionable on literally every player. Brooks lost his jumper last year, Vanvleet shot under 40% from the field. All young players still.
The biggest excuse is just the West is so deep. We can name 10 teams that are supposed to make the play offs next year.

I wasn’t a big fan of what the Rockets did in free agency, but even I have to admit, a lineup of FVV, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith, and Sengun, with Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore coming off the bench, is fun as hell.
They have a lot of crazy good young talent, but a lot of those young guys have big question marks I worry about. Honestly, out of all of them I probably feel the best about Sengun and Thompson hitting their upside. Most people will say Green, but I worry that he isn’t mature enough to improve his shot selection/efficiency and to learn to play as a team player.

  • @liamcparrent

Sengun was specifically told not to shoot 3s this year, so whenever he had open looks he looked uncomfortable but when he shot them they looked good. And apparently he's grown a few inches this off-season, they're saying he's about 6'11 no which would be huge for his game.

@@liamcparrent I watched every rockets game since 2009. I know I'm not wrong about the fact that Silas was hired to be a scapegoat, and he lied about a lot of stuff to protect stone and the players.
The rockets were past the tipping point already. They didn't have anymore money, and didn't have their own picks. The rebuild truly started during the 2019 season.
Before they hired Silas they knew they were going to tank, that was the reason they got someone with no experience. And advertised it as more.
Harden asked to be moved before Silas was hired. And was only not allowed to be traded. Because Tillman wanted him to be the heel, which harden eventually did and was immediately allowed to be traded. Though Tillman still refused the perceived best deal at the time with Philly.
The tank was always set to last until this upcoming season. Because this season is the first they don't have their own pick.
The rumors of Silas being a scapegoat were immediate. And proved to be true. With things like him taking blame for things players and stone did. And often lying to take heat off the players who were struggling so badly because of their lack of vets on the roster. And such an extreme rebuild. Setting multiple records for the youngest active roster in NBA history.
Hell stuff like Silas saying they don't run plays was a blatant lie that fools ate up.

You are right about defense but biggest reason is that in Turkish Basketball League our refrees do not use their whistle often like in nba. So he can defense but he has OG defense skills where he got phisical. So he try to do that and plus he was rookie so result is a lot of foul call some right some just bs. So his solution at the moment keep calm in defense. When he made his name and refrees treat better you might see good plays in defensive side.

Hope he stay's healthy and see where he is when he is 28. Takes a good team organization to bring a player like that along. Sure the NBA will screw it up.
