Alpi had the pressure to not foul (and stay on the court) last season.. as he is not a natural rim protector and having bad team D, it was not so easy for him. But people exaggerate saying he is a bad defender.

Alperen is a terrible rim defender, but his one-on-one defense is not bad. When he gets stronger, he won't give way to men in his position. I think the main problem is the perimeter defense of the team he plays for. If they're going to defend like this, they won't be able to recover even if prime gobert comes.
Yeah I don’t think he’s the best rim protector currently but hopefully I could highlight some of his flashes last season. He definitely has the potential and ability to be a good rim protector especially since he’s gotten taller, has better perimeter defenders, and has more general experience in the NBA.

@@mbulentozfirat8102 Hocam advanced metrics genellikle kendi takımında yarattığı etkiye göre artı eksi verir. Atıyorum şuan +1,1 olan defansif puanı, cavs'te jarrett allen yerine yedekten girmiş olsa büyük ihtimalle -2,2 olacaktı. Takımın kazandığı maç sayısı, yedeklediği/yedeklendiği pozisyon oyuncusu + ilk 5 / yedek 5'i arasındaki fark vb. bir sürü faktör var. Advanced metrics çok şey gösterir ama doğru okumasını bilene.
