- This lesson will focus on how I like to start a painting. How to simplify the many details in a scene to the essential shapes. It is this strong start that makes the painting work. I use a notan sketch to get the big mass shapes composed. The the shapes are painted onto the canvas and color is introduced. All simple flat mass shapes.

I have tried those apps and cannot remember to use them. So I use a basic photo and record the details with the photo once off. Very inefficient but I hate to duplicate work 😀
