Take a look at THIS: if you take the "soor" in Mansoor and reverse it, then put it before "Man", you get Roosman. That sounds an awful lot like "ruse man". Misha= as him. "As man ruse him". Suffocating in a world of human filth Yes pull me under Stop treading in a pool of your own blood Accept demise Let it pour Bleed it out Feel as the life drains from within A smile now rips open and paves a way in my sin I feel Beelzebub inside me He's been here all along Clutching every last ounce of sin from these dries up bones Please strike me down Fuck me... Just saw them live last night..shook Matt's hand, Misha smiled at me, Mark mocked me for being all shocked and Jake gave me one of their setlists. They also played this song and hell is my neck sore or what
Myusernameistakenwtf Mark does that a lot with us fans. I was in one time for a sound check and he asked what song they should do next for the sound check. I said Luck as a Constant and he's like, "Oh sorry, we didn't bring our 6-strings for this tour" and proceeds to bring out his 6-string
i just finished listening to this, jesus fucking christ, 4 songs and each of them were fucking amazing, i love how this band has grown and matured especially with their vocalist holy shit, so much personality and attack in his modulations and everything, ever since passenger spencer's been fucking killing it.and like the overall mood on how they approach songs is fucking god tier.Especially how misha adds little "easter eggs" from his bulb days which makes these songs much more endearing. Tbh periphery has be the only band where i get their cds and i never skip to the other song when i first listen to the cd, i never have to warm up to their songs to like them, because they're genuinely amazing, the kind of shit they fucking come up with is otherfucking worldly, i'm DEFINITELY stoked for alpha and omega
Dude right 100% love the way you put easter egg for his signature sound. That is awesome. But yes his chest voice is fucking amazing how he uses it and is influencing me to do something somewhat similar. He is definitely the most talented vocalist around. And this album he truly shows his diversity. None of the 4 songs are the same and are all completely different. Gives me fucking goosebumps everytime. And everytime has been like 50 billion times listened already lmfao. But the way he amps up to middle or head voice is fucking brilliant! Agghh I can't get over it!!!voice of the heavens
If the new Periphery isn't your thing it isn't. There's no need to bash people in the comments if they like it or if they don't. It's just everyones personal preference on what they prefer. For me, I'm super stoked and already have this preordered myself.
EricIsAverage Well, it actually is the true Periphery. You can say that Periphery 1 was Misha. Periphery 2 was Misha with some periphery. Now this album is actually something that everyone contributed and wrote, not just based on Misha's music. So this album is alot more like Periphery than the other 2 albums.
Aziz Alawadhi I think it's a set of notes played together in kind of an ascending tone before some kind of solo. I've not read into it too much, but it's popular and can be done on loads of instruments. Just search "The Lick" on UA-cam and you'll get it instantly.
I love the part in the second verse where it goes into blast beats, but Matt keeps the snare's accent on beat 3 through it. I think that's an awesome take on that technique. Love this song. I've nearly broken my neck listening to it.
David Presley the production on this album is better than it was on P3, it’s crazy. Honestly periphery’s sound is almost unmatched in metal. They have mastered their craft
Periphery is Life!!! In less than three weeks I'm flying from the East Coast to the West Coast just to see them. And then I'll see them on the East Coast when I get back.
Used to be my least favorite song of Juggernaut because going from the majesty that is "Priestess," to thrash metal was so abrasive...then I read the lyrics. Now one of my favorites, and that solo!! The lick reigns supreme!!
Them peeps who thought Spencer was at His peek on PII - His versatility in cleans and most definitely in screams has shot up the dawugeh for this latest effort. My applause to you Spencer, and all of Periphery for continuing to grow and push yourselves to make the best music you can. Thank you l:)
This song has done it for me. I'm not expecting anything good from this album anymore. And Spencer managed to hit the most cheezy notes a vocalist can pick. Ugh, he was one of the most innovative vocalists out there...
I think Periphery has officially capped out, for better or for worse. With every new release they'll continue to make existing fans more dedicated, and not as many new people are gonna get hooked
i've loved every track so far. Spencer is honestly my favorite vocalist in modern metal. The diversity of what he does and his range impresses me so much and it just kind of gels with the band. Excellent track can't wait for more!
This song reminds me of why periphery is my all time favorite band, the other songs off jugg were pretty good but this track just makes the hair on the back of your neck stick up
Honestly, each song they release somehow manages to surpass the previous. If this is what the progression of the album is like, I might have to go full fangirl....
Not only did Misha play "The Lick" at 2:33, but I SWEAR they mixed it just slightly louder than the rest of the solo just to draw attention to it ;) Rock on, guys.
Every one of the songs that have been released from this album I have been able to groove with immediately. It's like coming home after a long journey. Incredible. I can't wait to hear the entire story unfold.
havnt really like these guys too much until all this new material came out. everyone else is fucked for saying they arent good anymore, theyre getting better and better
This song is an absolute ripper! I fucking love Periphery! Both albums are nothing shy of spectacular and I honestly don't know how they'll be able to top these records!
definitely my favorite of the releases so far, especially vocally. on a slightly different note, the mix and master are perfect. absolutely flawless, even on the songs i don't like.
you can't judge a double album with 17 songs off of 4 of them. i personally like this song it took me a few listens to actually feel it out on all the songs, but i dig it.
This album is shaping up to be fucking incredible! So far I'm loving all the new music and can't wait until juggernaut releases! I see some comments of some people saying they can't get into these tracks.. And that is just fucking brainless.. These new Periphery tracks are pretty awesome! Can't wait! ;D
Clear had my hopes waaaay up for this album. These few songs knocked them right back down. But hey, if Soilwork would've released Windswept Mercy instead of Spectrum of Eternity before their double album came out, I probably would've had similar feelings, and that's probably the best double album ever.
I'm loving 3 out of the 4 songs released so far, only liked The Scourge's ending. But the rest are really hittin'! 3 dope choruses that make my soul bounce
I am not expecting much from this double album. From what I have heard so far I am regretting preordering this double album. I have been a big fan of Periphery since 2010. The debut album was incredible. I enjoyed PII just as much as the debut if not even a little more. Every song could stand on its own. I don't think each of these can stand on its own. I have read many people then coming to the defense of Periphery saying that this is because they are entering new territory in which they are writing a concept album. This is a terrible argument. When I think of concept albums in general I think of Pink Floyd who had The Wall and Dark Side of The Moon. Both of these albums had songs that have stood the test of time and could stand on their own, but then played in the context of the entire album were exponentially better. Periphery being composed of some of the most talented musicians in metal had me expecting something on this scale. Instead, we are getting songs with very little in terms of dynamics at all. Where is the huge epic feelings you might have gotten in the 3 part story of Muramasa, Ragnarok, and Masamune? In PII we had the first glimpse of what Periphery can do as a concept album with these three songs. They shared musical themes and played together culminated in a great listening experience. But what I saw in that, I am not seeing in any of these new songs at all. I am going to give the double album a full listen through, but my expectations are very low given what I have heard so far.
Instead of typing an essay on why you hate new music from a band you apparently like, why don't you try to enjoy music and find something you like!? We live in unbelievable times with tons of awesome music and technology. We're lucky to live in such a time so try to enjoy it. Plus, in my own opinion, these albums will be well worth a purchase. How could you like periphery 1 and 2 but not like this!? That literally makes NO sense dude
I didn't enjoy Absent Light by Misery Signals nearly as much as I enjoyed Controller or Mirrors, but I'd never regret supporting a band that I love. I also think that the "concept album argument" is a very fair one. You don't read random chapters of a novel and judge them like you would short-stories. Some albums are just a collection of songs, but there's another layer to Alpha/Omega. It's all relative.
Definitely getting some merch from you guys been a fan for a while, taken me awhile to actually buy some probably gonna get a bunch for my birthday love every song. Keep up the great tracks they sound amazing!
David Drummer Yea i felt that at first, but Alpha was the only other one that caught my attention. This song was the obvious front runner. Now to be honest i think it's Graveless, Alpha, The Scourge, The Bad Thing, and 22 Faces i'm not a huge fan of. The more i listen the more the hooks and breakdowns kept ringing in my head begging for a new listen. Which is typically how Periphery songs evolve to me, but hey that's just me.
I love that there is no overplaying on any of the 4 songs released so far. It's refreshing to hear songs that are groovier and less wanky than the songs on P2, especially since the instrumental complexity on P2 was clashing with Spencer's bold and in-your-face singing style. I also really appreciate the conceptual nature of the album; not necessarily because of the concept itself but more because a lot of the lyrics on P2 came off as cheesy and now that there are some darker themes involved in the lyrics hopefully we won't hear any cheesy choruses like Ji or Scarlet. I'm just glad to hear songs like this again from Periphery...P2 was fun and all but I'm definitely more of a P1 fan and I love the dark, simplistic, almost Deftones-eque atmospheres that we get from these guys playing a bit less and focusing more on songwriting. Overall, I like the direction Periphery are moving with this record and am stoked to see how it turns out! I love you Misha give us another Racecar soon :D
+Misha Mansoor One of the great things about the 4 singles so far is that every song sounds SO MUCH different from the last. This gives me even more respect for Periphery as a band because they're showing that they aren't afraid to branch out and try different things. Alpha:Omega seems like it'll be their most progressive album yet and that makes me so excited for the release! Misha, is it me or did Spencer harness his pop influence a little more in this album? His cleans sound different.
I was a bit nervous after the first single (The Scourge was decent, but not on P2 level IMO), but this song and the last two have revitalized my enthusiasm for your upcoming albums. Can't wait for more!
Hurry now and hid the dark To not stain all creation Bestowed this paradise The garden now grows man's sin This place was supposed to be everything Everything we would ever need but yet I'm longing and long for more I need more I can't hold it in there has to be there has to be I swear to god There has to be more Hurry lock away the dark Creation may see what we've made And Paradise begins to die The garden is the beginning and end beginning and ENDDDDDDs Alpha and Omega The promise made on his last day inside the garden that he made Was broken that very same day left lost inside my own darkness Darkness transcends divine The eternal lights in the garden dim He who would swallow god The creator of free will and sin I,Adam
Did Misha just really do "The Lick" at 2:33. I love Periphery.
Went back a listened and giggled a bit. Thanks for pointing that out lol

I played fit for a king one time in the car and it didn’t go well lol. FOCKIN shite
Can't ruin the 69 likes so here is a comment. Nice.
I converted my girlfriend into a periphery fan and she bought HERSELF P5 on vinyl. Mission accomplished 😂
@@ThePurestMayhem you have won!
This band has a terrible habit of writing really badass riffs
Thanks guys! We love you, happy new year!

+Gorbs413 I know you're in your feels dude but it's feel. Not feels lmao
That ending riff from 3:25 to the end is SO merciless.
NO ONE else is doing what Periphery is doing right now. They're on an entirely different level. Too good!
Just saw them live last night..shook Matt's hand, Misha smiled at me, Mark mocked me for being all shocked and Jake gave me one of their setlists. They also played this song and hell is my neck sore or what

That breakdown after the 2nd chorus is absolute destruction. And, so is that ending riff. DAMN!
this is some of the best progressive experimental jambajuice post-Christcore i've ever heard. see you guys in portland!
That scream at 3:02 made my buttcheeks clench I swear on God.

Hey friends! I'm commenting as the 74th viewer! How cool is that? I love pop punk music like this
I agree, but I feel like they strayed too far from their pop-punk roots with this one.
Michael Avery
I agree 100% This isn't Periphery IMO, It's a lot closer to like heavy metal.
EricIsAverage
Really? I was thinking more post-punk or post-pop-punk. Maybe even progressive-post-pop-punk with the direction they're headed.

That timekeeping while in blast.

This song sounds more periphery than the others ive listened to for some reason. I prefer this
I would def. agree with you on this one. This sounds the most old school out of the new tracks that i have currently heard.

Mark should get more recognition for his skills in this band as well
i don't know why, but i've always looked passed periphery. i see i have made a mistake
How do you look past a train coming at you?
I was a bit nervous after the first single (The Scourge was decent, but not on P2 level IMO), but this song and the last two have revitalized my enthusiasm for your upcoming albums. Can't wait for more!
HOLY SHIT. GUYS. HOLY SHIT.
Holy shit, you guys.
Hurry now and hid the dark
To not stain all creation
Bestowed this paradise
The garden now grows man's sin
This place was supposed to be everything
Everything we would ever need but yet I'm longing and long for more I need more I can't hold it in there has to be there has to be I swear to god
There has to be more
Hurry lock away the dark
Creation may see what we've made
And Paradise begins to die
The garden is the beginning and end
beginning and ENDDDDDDs
Alpha and Omega
The promise made on his last day inside the garden that he made
Was broken that very same day
left lost inside my own darkness
Darkness transcends divine
The eternal lights in the garden dim
He who would swallow god
The creator of free will and sin
I,Adam
