    Well I had to look up your description here to see what exactly you were cooking in this pork dish? Because Google voice to text can't hear what you're saying not when you use it on your phone or in captions and they had that you were cooking something called 'throttle'! Which of course I'd never heard of and that's probably because no such dish exists! 🙄 Anyway it looks awesome!

    I tried to do this once and my family loved it! Simple and easy on your part! Am doing this today a second time as family asked for it! Thanks for the recipe and teaching! Is it alright to add dried chestnuts? I like the flavour of them in my trotters!!!

    Hi Roland, many thanks for this recipe. However, the Chinese white wine of 500 ml/2 cups a bit too strong. I tried out this recipe in preparation for CNY, and I will reduce the white wine in my next try. Cheers and keep up the wonderful recipes

    Hi, how long is the cooking time approx. when you don't have a pressure cooker?

      About 1 hour 15 mins to 1 hour 30 mins depends on how tender you want the pork to be over Low heat. Bring the sauce to a boil then turn the heat to low to simmer. Happy cooking.

    Hi, Roland. When u use black pepper corn n sichuan peppercorn, do u fried them first?So will be more flavorful?I always fellow but recipes, they are easy to understand.Thank.you.

    When I was a child, we used to have hard boiled eggs in our. Is this the same type of dish? If so when would I put in the eggs?

      Yes it’s similar. You can cook some hard boil eggs and add the eggs in after the pressure cooking part. Happy cooking.

    hi, can i substitute the chinese rice wine with shao xing wine? if so, what is the proper measurement for shao xing wine?

      Hi Jun Kiat. They are different. If you don’t have white rice wine, just omit it but if you can get hold of it, it would great as it can help to reduce any foul smell of the pork. Happy cooking!

      We used the sauce to make braised beef noodles but you can omit the noodles if you wanna have other sides like whipped potatoes

    As others have mentioned, this is the hock, not the trotter. The trotter has a lot more gelatinous connective tissue and skin so the recipes reflect this.

      Hi Grace. It’s better to use the same ingredients as ours. Sake is also more expensive I think. At least in Singapore it’s a lot cheaper. Enjoy it as a drink. Happy cooking!

    You missed a chunk of this vlog. From taking pork out of boiling pot, to pork looking edible on a large plate. How did you make the sauce?

      Hihi. Remember the part whereby we cooked the sauce without the pork and added cornstarch solution? That helps to thicken the sauce. After you’ve blanched the pork. Just remove it and wash. Didn’t think showing that is needed because it’s rather self explanatory. As for playing, you can plate it however you like, you can also use ours as a guide. Basically just drench the sauce over the pork before you serve. Happy cooking!

      Hi Lily. I’m sorry we don’t have a written set of instructions currently but for your convenience, we’ve listed the ingredients in the description box of this video. You can prepare your ingredients first using the list then refer back to this video for the steps. Play again before you cook then play , Pause and playback as you cook whenever necessary.       @@lilyk5330 just cook it the same way, but in a regular pot, bring to a boil and then cover and simmer until it's tender. Probably take anywhere between 1-2 hours, depending how tender you like it. Afterwards, reduce the sauce and you can do the cornstarch liquid like he did.
