Why I keep doing this to myself everytime, when I haven't ate yet! All of you probably know what I'am talkin about 😂
It's 3am and now I want this 😅
I watch videos like this when I’m hungover …… I really don’t know why either 😂
I agree 🤤
YES ... I wanted to eat the spoonful through the fucking phone
I went here 2 weeks back. The roast pork is incredible, hands down the best I ever had in my life.
The locals there told me not to bother with the char siew or the roast chicken and stick to the roast pork.
Some tips for anyone new going there
1) get there at around 11am and line up. You first need to go to the lady at the counter and grab a number, before you wait in line for your order to be taken. Don't skip this step.
2) order the roast pork, but get the option with 2 strips of pork. 1 is not enough. It's considered expensive for Malaysian standards, but it is what it is, you won't find better. 70MYR for 2 strips and rice.
3) get a seat and they will bring the food out to you. Much easier if you are going with small numbers.
4) nearest MRT station is Pavillion, it's about a 10 min walk from there.
Big game changer is the rice cooked in the fat of the pork drippings, it's just incredible.
Looks incredibly bland though
@@magiclegume it really, really isn't. There is a reason he is packed and only opens 3 hours a day. I also thought it would be "dry", until I tasted the rice. It's a legit 10/10 meal.
@@magiclegumepork belly really doesn’t need anything besides salt. The fat and smoking has incredibly huge flavors, and it’s served with a sweet sauce. There’s a reason bacon is so flavorful.
@@magiclegume U really don't know what pork belly is, respectfully lol
is it halal
Cantonese style, my favorite!! I wish there’s such a restaurant near where I live I can go there everyday
This is my go to place whenever I went to KL. Even 15 years ago they are already very crowded and super delicious
The char strips look amazing 🤤
Old school cooking simply beautiful great work
I could watch this cooking process all day long. 14:59 OMG I'm dying to eat this. This could be a reason to travel to Malaysia. 17:42 This should be the first picture of your video, showing your Michelin plaque.
They don't have a Michelin Star, they just appear in the Michelin Guide. Still an amazing achievement, but not the same thing. To put in in perspective, around 150 restaurants in Malaysia appear in the Michelin Guide, but only 4 of them have at least 1 Michelin Star.
liar, you don't have to lie to make friends. nobody would watch this all day.
Michelin has 4 ratings: the 1,2, and 3 stars, and the honorable mention.
@@skepptix I'm making friends with food, fool. You just haven't eaten nor appreciate these tasty delicacies, and, yes, it's important to know how to cook them right.
that was torture seeing that delicious food and cant eat it. looks so succulent and tasty. 😢😢
WOW it looks delicious great cooking skills 🙌
I thought he had lost part of his finger, but it was actually curled away.
This is all looking sooo good. I want to go to Malaysia one day 🥓🥩🍗🍖🍳
Personally, I don't like eating food that has been roasted in rusty, dirty barrels
@@Kellykiller-mj2bn no one asked tbh

@@Kellykiller-mj2bnBrah, that's literally every bbq ever. When the temperature gets super hot, it kills everything.
Great footage mate ....wow...mega ...thanks
They take more time preparing than actually being open.
The food looks amazing.
Your channel guarantees mouth watering!😁
For now, this place is open for 3hrs only. One day its going to be "open whenever i feel like opening"....
😅
How tho? 😂
It's only open for three hours because that's all the meat they have. Those people work incredibly hard and here you imply that they are lazy. Shame on you.
@@SeraphsRose yep... I'm not shaming anybody... But what we may see on the outside of all things may not always be anything like we'd imagine it or ever want to have to go through ourselves in life or even just to have gone through any experience of it even. These people come in super early to just have everything prepared to cook for us all.... And by the time things get open, the ones that stick around to do everything else on top of that for the next 3hrs must go through some forms of emotional damages in ways we cannot fathom for each one of them inside that may hate that entire job itself even though it may look cool or fun to some of us viewing it for the first several times in amazement of the whole process.... These people are doing it like all day everyday! If you're a man or woman in this world thats ever gotten tired of sex or something like even dating.... Then imagine how tired most of these people are doing that work!?????... There comes a point where its just a job to them and they're probably rather be doing something or anything else to make $$$ if they could, but they can't, and so they're just suffering there for that $$$$$$$ just as most any of us likely are but most manage to settle or just accepted this is all we've got or can do in our lives...very few are trying to break free because the work or even just the mental emotional States to want to be motivated or not so depressed inside just having to think of any of these things is so much easier.... And we is here judging these skilled bastards! Most of us should be ashamed of ourselves for judging so much lesser upon ourselves than others we see but don't really understand past oh it looks easy! Oh! Shes hot! I'd smash! Then you end up on child support alimony and most likely divorced on the streets because that trashy woman was for the streets the whole time with a past dating more far back than all the 304s raising hell in the gardens of Eden to have destroyed the first man by poisoning him into all the destructions that this world faces up until this very day!...... ... I'm pretty stoned and lost where I was going with all this.... 😒 But I think my overall points here are that we should just judge more on what we tasted in the foods and less on what we think food tastes like or something 🤔... Yeah... I'm too lazy to go back and read whatever I might have typed already 😓
@@SeraphsRose that's your perspective. My perspective is that their status as a restaurant gives them the authority to operate whenever they feel like, like some star restaurants in America
One of the best meals I had in my life! The rice and pork belly are outstanding…
stairway to heaven😂
13:55 Still way more cleaner than Indian street food.
LIAR
Both are disgusting 😎
Fantastic camera work on the close-ups, esp inside the roasting barrel.
Thank you for showing us exactly how to eat it.
A lot of work put into it, respect.
Oh my goodness that rice and pandan leaves. I can smell it and taste it. yum

All looks so delicious.. I wish I had something like this near me in West London UK..
Try your local china town. I am pretty sure London UK has a pretty nice China town, avoid the main street and restaurants, look for the take out places. Normally Chinatown takeout shops are lined up, and they often have stuff like this, where the shop will have stuff hanging.
In SF chinatown and NY chinatown, its like this. You can find this stuff pretty easy. It probably isn't at this level, but it's roughly the same.
@@yummychips_ Thanks for the advice I will definitely check that out in London and add a review on my new food channel on UA-cam called Real Munchies..
Happy New Year to you! 😊
mate, we have one of the biggest chinatown in the world
Bro, there's few great Chinese restaurants in Bayswater, West London. I go there quite a bit. New Fortune Cookie is best for price and the food is top notch, great friendly staff also. If you like Dim Sum, Gold Mine is the only place there that does it but it's so damn delicious. Their main menu is top notch as well, a little bit pricier than New Fortune Cookie. And the best of the bunch is Four Seasons, yes it is more expensive but not crazy though. Defo affordable dishes but they have an established chain (there's also one in Chinatown) so their food is probably the best of the 3 I mentioned. Just check all 3 and see how you get on. New Fortune Cookie is my regular, I go Gold Mine for their Dim Sum and do Four Seasons if I fancy a treat night/day.
Backed to basic… so simple to maintain which turn out taste good ❤
This art of cooking is immaculate and beautiful. Truly a majestic sight to witness....
It's beautyful!❤ Everything looks so delicious! ❤❤❤
That food just makes my mouth water mmm 👍 good
I miss Malaysian street food. My favorite food around the world 👍
yup with the hands and even rings all over the food i can only imagine why....

Happily enjoying my chicken rice for breakfast while watching this.
Nearly choked and died when I saw RM128 for the price.
These cooking techniques are almost ancient. Ovens like this have been used in Asia for centuries. I believe this is similar to how the highly popular Chinese dish, Peking duck, is made too. I hope one day I get to do a food tour of the world, I will certainly be trying this!.
Gambateh!
Wow, It's mouthwatering when I see and hear the crispy sound...
This looks amazing and I'm struck by how clean it all looks, not a fly in sight.
Those chef knives would take your finger clean off.
This is the real "home style cooking", everything looks delicious and cheap, the way we love
Cheap to foreigners. Not locals
@@arthurfleck42 for local also cheap.. because chinese when open a restaurant they buy, they cook and they clean by themselves.. not like in western its expensive because west people when they open a restaurant they hire chef, they hire waitress, they hire everything.. just like a boss..
This shop is not cheap at all compared to other Chinese eateries around KL@@Ellazybone

Dah try sebab bulan ni rmai tmpat xbuka tempat memang bersih dan sedap surrr….🤤
Delicious food😊😊
I gasped when you put the sauce on. Stuff looks spicy!
Poor princess, you gasped......
Amazing
I love this form of cooking & have devoted much time to perfecting the practice of this technique. Consistent temperature control & optimal radiant heat distances are key to this form of roasting. Although Im sure the end product will be very delicious from their use of charcoal fuel, the fact that they need to scrape burnt crackle off the end product is very wasteful to the key component of what makes roast pork appealing. They just need a few refinements like use of better volume metrics in their kettles (ditch the 44 gallon drums for something with a larger radius) to evenly distribute the raw flame's heat & smoke. Use of a thermometer would also help calibrate the optimal air flow required to regulate the kettle's oxygen supply (in this case the pot lids). Until these refinements are done the final product will never result in the Michelin status claimed in this video.
Im muslim and even i want to taste this food!!
🤣😅🫢
There's halal version of it bro, as long as it grass fed.
The prohibition against pork was common sense 2000 years ago but just doesn't make sense anymore with what we now know.
😂😂
What comes out of you is unclean....not what goes inside of you brother.

You wont regret it. Kl is the best, greetings from germany
Hi thank you for making a video of such a scrumptious meal in Malaysia, however, you ought to revise the prices in USD in your video. It's quite misleading and inaccurate. For instance the roast chicken costs RM27, it should have been about $5.80, but in your video you recorded it as $25.80. If the RM is at par with the USD, there will be a huge problem with the American currency. Also, the total cost of the meal is RM128.5, which is equivalent to $27.50. Kindly revise the decimal point, please. Thanks 😀
Thanks for the tips! Will take note on it bro 🥰
I think the chicken was just a mistake. The other prices looked close to correct. Exchange today at 1 RM=US$0.22
Looks delicious. I can imagine paying a roughly comparable price for this same food here in the US, though the pork belly seems relatively more expensive than the chicken or the char siew.
@@Good2Food-vg9xw At one time I thought about relocating to Seattle, and you've cited one of the main reasons why I chose to remain in the Midwest.
@@Good2Food-vg9xw No worries. Had once thought seriously about relocating there but doing it cold, no job lined up or friends/family already in place there. At that stage of my life, trying to reestablish in any major city would've been a struggle.
That was so great. No explanation spoken. Just watch great cooking and enjoy the sounds of the restaurant I love it!
Query: they wrote it was chicken but wasn’t that a duck?
Salivating !
Wow a lot of customers. If I have chance to visit Malaysia I will go to try it.
Be sure to do that!
Pork belly a delicious fatty cut of meat, sadly in the west fat has been demonised and everyone eats low fat foods, trouble is, they are now morbidly obese from doing so. Looking at the customers in that restaurant I see not one fat person.
