Make sure you use a 157T 28.2oz balance flywheel and the clutch pattern for a diaphragm 10.5” clutch. The 164t are all 28.2 oz from the factory and most pre-83 are 28.2 on all 299/302/351w&c The t5 came in 83 behind all 50.0 oz 302/5.0l
I actually say this in the next episode, lol. But yes, Summit had a 28-oz 157 tooth. 10.5 for like $110. Now, however, I am having a starter issue. I used a 3/4" depth starter and a CJ pony parts conversion seperator plate. Every time I hit the starter, it makes a grinding noise, but it still starts the car just fine. I'm thinking the new seperator plate may be slightly misaligned, so I'm going to loosen the bellhousing and see if I can shift it over.
In the 70's I was a Chevy Small block guy with a 1965 Impala SS Coupe. Had the original 283 in it when I bought it from a buddy I bought a used 327 and bored it out .030 and put a lot of goodies on it. Car was a factory 4 speed, added a Hurst shifter, what a fun and fast SS street car with a 5.13 rear gear ! Then in the 80's I found by accident a nice original 1970 Grabber green Ford Mustang BOSS 429 Took it to a lot of car shows and drove it, unique vehicle for sure ! Sold it for $9,900 in the early 80's For those who had any rare cars and notice today that this Mustang can bring $250,000, I remind you UNLESS you have been stationary, storing cars like this for 45 years sound like a dream, but indeed is a nightmare unless you have had inside storage where you live for 45+ years ! BUT, if you thought about renting a storage garage for 45 years, let's see what that looks like = $81,000, not to mention maintenance. GOOD deal or NOT ? NICE to see an aircraft mechanic into interesting cars !
Keep killing it bro! I’ve been watching your videos for a bit now, keep us up to date with Ellie!
