Im honestly surprised at how there's not more people subscribed. Josef os hands down the best teacher on UA-cam for beginners and experts. Thanks man, keep it up
Great job Josef! as a composer, as a teacher and as a person, it's so enjoyable to watch and learn with your videos. This piece of music makes me sound much more professional than I am, and it's so easy to learn and play, YOU make it easy! and brings me to that nice excitement to create more music. Thank you for being my piano teacher!
This is perfect for me. My struggle has been to imagine (and play) some interesting left-hand patterns, as well as interesting rhythms. I am so happy that I found your site, and I am excited to get to the piano again. Thank you.
You are worthy for that complement bro, You don't know, You have student that is learned piano for the Glory of our God. ^_^ You're talent on piano is amazing, and your teaching too.. God bless you for sharing your knowledge about piano, I know God bless you more, If you Use your talent for Him.. God bless you again brother. ^_^
So helpful, it's like you demystifying piano playing. When i was hearing beautiful piano melodies it used to feel totally out of reach...now, i'm one step closer to figure them out :) love also your "A BEAUTIFUL left hand accompaniment pattern" THANK YOU!
You're very welcome. The more you do things like this, the more you will begin to 'feel' melodies. You will be instilling in you a sense of melody so you won't need to think as much. Glad you liked them.
Hey man, thanks for these 2 videos. I like this melody and your teaching style. Being still in the beginner stade, I started to practice this melody line for 2 hands yesterday, and today, at the second day, I can already play it relatively fluently. Didn't think I would be able to play it that fast. I will now try to transpos it to other keys. So I would welcome very much if you did a third video that builds upon these two. Thank you for your valuable contributions! Your's is almost the only piano channel I didn't unsubscribe over the months.
The little melody is nice in itself, but the really interesting thing is to transmit it to other chords and chord progressions. I am about to try that out. And if you make a third video about it, I am looking forward to see it.
Hi Josef. Appreciate what you are doing. In able us to play your music, could you please play all piece with marking on the screen, so we can make it slow motion and it would be easier for us. Many thanks
Hi Joe, I love the 10-Degree Left Hand pattern, it sounds very nice. But I have a question about the Fingering. I find some classical music that use 5-3-1 fingering to play 10 degree on left hand.(and I feel less stretching to thumb) though, in some popular music use 5-2-1 fingering to play 10 degree left hand. (via descending baseline) Which fingering is much commonly use ? I hope I could keep practicing on one of the pattern first. Thanks
Both are very valid and I guess it depends on the circumstance and what you want to achieve. In the 5-3-1 fingering, you do end up with that 2nd finger free which you can use to play an extra passing note if you want to. This is useful in classical music. I find it more comfortable to use the 5-2-1 fingering myself for this kind of pattern but that in no way means I don't use the other fingering or its the only way to play it. No right or wrong. I can switch fingering no problem and I recommend you practice both. Glad you liked the video! :)
Great video thanks. It would be really nice to do a follow up on chords with nice voicing that could be played as well on the right hand over that IV I V vi progression.
Good stuff Julian. Its good to experiment. If you look at the end of the video, notice i'm playing around with the chords in different orders. Maybe when you get comfortable, this an idea aswell. Try the exact same right hand pattern but switch the left hand chords around. see what it sounds like!
The piece actually turned out to be easy. Within 20 minutes I already had the extra beat in the bass added but I forgot about adding the third to the top so still gotta do that.
Haha, we'll see. Subscribers seem to be going up at a steady rate however, i'm more interested in engagement. I've love to have a good engagement increase along with subscribers. There are too many channels out there (especially in piano) with over 100k subs, but only a few k views on their vids. I'm thinking of started a facebook group soon. That ought to be fun!
Creative Piano Academy thats great to hear! Thanks for the fast answer :D Hopefully the free videos on yt will give me a solid foundation since i cant afford Premium stuff right now
I stopped watching after 3rd stage explanation, I need to be good on initial part then I can continue... :( Really great video, Wishing all the success to your channel.
Hey Pravin. This means you're using the video properly. No harm in going to where you are comfortable, getting it right, then moving on. The layers of the left hand in this video are build up in difficulty so keep coming back when you're ready to move on. Really pleased you're giving it a go!
While I know you mean well. This video is a clear example of something I find infuriating when it comes to UA-cam tutorial videos. Especially if the host has a side-hustle in the form of a paywalled, or subscription based website and/or business. You fill the whole video with "fluff" and rush through the important bit, as a way to funnel the viewers to your paid content. Take this video for example, you went on and on for 2:33 to explain something that could have been written in the description on a single like. Allow me to demonstrate: Measure one consists of 1-&--2&--3-&-4-& . On the left hand, you play the 1st & 5th of an A♭ (as in A♭+ E♭) on the 1 ONLY. on the left hand you play 1-&--2-&(B♭)--3(E♭)-&-4(B♭)+8-&(E♭). That's it. 2 minutes, 33 seconds reduced to a single line.

Hey man, thanks for these 2 videos. I like this melody and your teaching style. Thats great to hear Bernard. I will consider doing a third vid to take this further. These vids did go down well so yeah, a third would be cool.
The little melody is nice in itself, but the really interesting thing is to transmit it to other chords and chord progressions. I am about to try that out. And if you make a third video about it, I am looking forward to see it.
yeah, I was playing around with loads but I had to settle on just 1 for the tutorial. Go for it. I'll put some ideas down and add to it!

Hi Josef. Appreciate what you are doing. In able us to play your music, could you please play all piece with marking on the screen, so we can make it slow motion and it would be easier for us. Many thanks

Amazing.... let me practice
Pls come out with some easy left hand patterns. thanks Sir
Hi Joe,
I love the 10-Degree Left Hand pattern, it sounds very nice.
But I have a question about the Fingering.
I find some classical music that use 5-3-1 fingering to play 10 degree on left hand.(and I feel less stretching to thumb)

Yeah, great video, for the 2nd phrase left hand Eb I played active lower, sounds good when messing around!!
Good stuff Julian. Its good to experiment. If you look at the end of the video, notice i'm playing around with the chords in different orders. Maybe when you get comfortable, this an idea aswell. Try the exact same right hand pattern but switch the left hand chords around. see what it sounds like!
That's great Joe, its funny how I can remember all your stuff really well, but lots of other stuff on utube I cant!!!!!!?
No idea. I guess i'll take that as a good thing though!
My ‘ah-ha’ moment was when you explained that adding tenth (3rd) to the broken arpeggio added flavour of major or minor chord!
Love it man..
Good stuff! Glad it helped!
The piece actually turned out to be easy. Within 20 minutes I already had the extra beat in the bass added but I forgot about adding the third to the top so still gotta do that.
Nice one Jace!

Really great video, Wishing all the success to your channel.

You are 100 percent true, the 3 exercises of rhythm is building block, and I must be comfortable with that .... Again thanks,
How to find the right chords for a song ?😭😭😭
Training your musical ear... or googling it!
could you please repeat with a popular song title ie: Titanic, My heart will go on.
I like it but it’s hurting my brain😍
Put it in the cards... You say this and I don’t know where to find...the cards...or what you mean????
I mean octave lower, hate this predictive text

stop talking and tell me patterns...
hey, bud are you refer to amateurs / beginners, if yes, you a probably wrong .....try more easy fingering
