McDonalds can also be relied on for air conditioning if you find yourself travelling in a heatwave - over 30C for example

The thing with planning is that you give yourself options.
You don't have to see them all, but might really regret missing something.
For example, a mate of mine on tour in Germany stayed in Fussen last night without realising a lot of the Great Escape was filmed there, and the Steve Mcqueen bike chase just up the road in Weisbach.
I visited 2 weeks ago on my way south.
Was he disappointed or what when I dropped him a text.
Knowledge used wisely is wisdom .

Yeah a fair balance is what’s needed. We do save locations and notes on our Google maps of places we want to go, then we just join the dots
The drone footage of the palace is excellent. Nice quiet place to camp. Glad you haven’t run out of the pilgrims choice yet. That meal looks good on a chilly evening.

You're right Ewa, that cheese "with all the holes in it", is Swiss, is called Emmental and comes from the valley(tal) named(Emme). The Emme being the name of the river flowing through it. It also happens to be the place where I live, and am sat watching this, indeed binge watching this journey to catch you up.
When I get to you entering Switzerland, then we'll be running parallel. See you then.
What causes all the holes in the cheese?
@@ontheroadadventure As the wheel of Emmental cheese matures, propionic acid fermentation occurs in the fermentation cellar. This fermentation produces carbon dioxide gas that collects within the curds. Since the gas cannot escape due to the already solid rind, it gets trapped, resulting in the holes, or Eyes as they are called.
Well there we go, Every day is a school day! AND we love that we now have a cheese expert on the road with us!

Brilliant video both , I got a place I just visited in France that I’d recommend it’s called Pierrefonds it’s a beautiful place with an unbelievable castle it’s well worth the visit just north of Paris 👍

I found it very difficult to find somewhere to eat during the day in rural France, ended up the same as you guys using McDonalds and Aldi’s etc. 🙄😂
Mcdonalds is both a blessing and a curse for us... We all know we are eating crap, but its always available, a pee stop, decent coffe, food and wifi all in one location, we often find ourselves falling into there when travelling

Lived in France for 10 years and,sad to say, McDonalds (after the fancy rebrand without the clown) was the best coffee in France😸☕👍🏍️💨💨 p.s. how did you find the french roundabout etiquette? 🤔
Yes we love Mac Donald’s coffee, cheap and decent 👍 one thing about the uk is the standard of driving is generally much better than the rest of Europe we found. Italy being the worse place so far

Random question for you.. what connection are you using on the French campsites for electric?
Mostly the 3 pin caravan style adapter but we have a few different plugs etc with us as it changes everywhere

I inputted twisties and no motorways on my sat nav in Germany. It still sent me down major highways.

@@ontheroadadventure , It is the installed system on my Electra Glide. Then again, with so many permutations to input before doing a location search, I will have to get the manual out.
Even my Garmin on a previous bike when in the EU sent me down some obscure roads and paths. Including making U-turns.
