    I almost bought a 2024 Kia Sportage ex hybrid. While I was waiting 2 months for it to come to the dealership I kept studying and Found some negative things that made me nervous. I ended up getting the 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid XLE. I am very happy with that decision. I really wanted adaptive cruise control and wireless apple CarPlay. I Know a lot of people have the Sportage with no problems but I am glad I got the RAV4. I get average 45 mpg n the 2000 miles I have had it. Good luck with your Mazda, I watched your video on the noise in your Kia and that is definitely not right.

    My 2024 Kia Hybrid Sportage SX-Prestige runs beautifully. It’s quiet, smooth transmission and ride quality is excellent. The styling is forward,driver assist technology and warranty is top in its category. I researched and tested
    : Mazdas c-5 Refined interior but too small- wanted more shoulder / leg/ back seat and cargo room. Honda CRV- Hybrid engine noise high pitched noisy going up inclines, Toyota Rav Hybrid Best MPG in category, comfortable, but interior styling looked behind the times. When selling vehicles the best sale price will be obtained when selling to private parties.

      I love the styling of the Kias. The interior is nice. Tech is a step above. The designs are eye-catching. Great warranty. Just could not stand the engine noise.

    It's a ridiculous rant. All new vehicles loose around 10% as soon as you roll them off the lot but to claim that's just a KIA issue is crazy, It's why people like Dave Ramsey tell people not to buy new cars in general. I don't know what noise he was complaining about in the video sounds like an windows open not ticking noise. If it's the EV powertrain, their is a sounds they have to make by law so they aren't completely quiet, if that what this is about. I have been interested in Sportage Hybrid since they came out in 2023 and since I probably test drove 10 EX/ SX between the 2023 and 2024 models and never had any issue with ticking engines or anything this guy is complaining about. Finally google Mazda CX-5 lots of hits on reddit and others complain about rattling sun roofs and dashboards, what does that mean... Nothing maybe some people got bad individual builds not that the entire model line is flawed.

      Thanks for commenting. This car lost closer to 20% of its value. My RAV LOST ABOUT 2% over 10 months. The noise was very real. Real enough that it drive me to take a loss on the car and get rid of it. It was TERRIBLE!

    I currently have a 2015 Mazda 6 and LOVE it. I was looking at Kia/Hyundai for an EV but really didn't like what I found when researching them cars. So now I'm thinking of a Hybrid Toyota, maybe a Prius or Camry but I didn't know about the CX-50 coming as a hybrid...especially with Toyota's help. Might have to wait and see what happens as I much prefer Mazda and the little touches it has vs Toyota.

      I think the CX 50 is going to be amazing! We will have to wait and see ...

    Let me see if i got this straight. You sold your Rav4 hybrid because it was making strange noises, and now you sold your Kia hybrid because it was making a strange noise.
    Fyi, i traded in my Kia Forte for the Kia hybrid and i got an excellent price for my 2019 Forte.
    Im sure there were several factors that dictated how much you got for your sportage

    A used car will depreciate in value from it's wholesale price when new. MSRP has built in profit for the dealer. The $500 discount you received is small compared to what you would have received before the 2020 year where a $2000+ rebate from factory was typical for KIa or Hyundai. Post 2020 year there were car shortages, this is most likely why the value of that Toyota was as high as it was. So the $28k you got for the Kia is not as bad as you think. Last new car ( Mazda 6) I bought at $4500 off MSRP .

    • @myboringchannel
      @myboringchannel  5 місяців тому

      I get it. But I don't think you're hearing what I'm saying. My Toyota didn't lose value. My Kia did lose value. Both were hybrids. Really similar vehicles in a lot of ways.

      @@myboringchannel Until recently, Toyota dealers in my area had empty lots, the supply chain shortage factored into why your Toyota was priced higher.. Plus the high trade-in value given to you was off set by the profit margin made on the Kia Sportage. I agree, Toyota's hold their value better but all brand vehicles depreciate. To get a better idea of the worth of a car you should take offers from 3 used car dealers in your area.

      @@johnh7058 I got four appraisals on my Kia Sportage . . . The lowest was 26K, the highest was 28K. Two were 27K. I hear everything you’re saying about supply, etc. But what I’m saying is that THIS is my experience. That Sportage dropped off like nothing has ever dropped off. Maybe over five or ten years it would even out. But in the meantime, it makes a weird noise. I don’t want it. And Kia won’t cover it. So I end up losing. If you even THINK about not keeping your car for long, don’t go Kia.

    I have a hard time believing this guy, he says he traded it in because it makes a particular noise when accelerating, but then says all of them make a noise like ticking when accelerating. So the moral of his story is never buy an electric or Hybrid because they all make a ticking noise when accelerating. He will just pay more for a gas engine car like his used 2021 Mazda of which he will trade in soon as well, because he will find something wrong with that as well within a year.

      I have no agenda here other than to tell people my experience. I have a hybrid RAV4 (2021) and I love that car. The engine on that car makes no strange noises. So that blows your entire theory to hell. Anyway thanks for the comment have a great day

    Our 2024 Sportage Hybrid EX does NOT make funny noises under acceleration - unless you are going under 20mph or so in EV Mode, when it emits the mandated "I AM AN EV" (even if only temporarily...) Warning sound. "Sounds" like you got a lemon - which is unfortunate, but is also why Common Advice is to take THE Vehicle you are buying on a test drive before signing on the dotted line. That certainly does not preclude "infant mortality" problems, but it should catch any Obvious Out of Box glitches - like your obnoxious noises.
    The typical automobile - per "experts" - will lose around 10% of its value the minute you drive it off the lot, and roughly 20% over the first year. Seems like you received an initial offer around that 20% mark, which is what should be expected (pro buyer is always going to start low) - dealer gave you more, perhaps out the kindness of their hearts, but also perhaps because they know they will be able to sell the car for closer to MSRP.
    As far as Excessive Depreciation for Kia's is concerned, CarEdge ranks 17 Popular Brands for 5 Year Resale Value: Kia ranks exactly in the middle (9th spot: 4% points below the top, and 5% above the bottom). Sorry, but a 4% valuation difference over a 5 year period is not sufficient for *ME* to select a vehicle that is otherwise Less Desirable. (CarEdge also ranks 13 "Luxury Brands" for 5 year depreciation: Kia beats ALL of them with the exception of Acura, which retains roughly 3% more value over that period.)
    Certainly, different people have different Decision Points when looking at a new vehicle - among these are whether to Buy NEW or Buy "Pre-owned." IF Depreciation is a major decision point, then the best choice would be to Buy Pre-Owned and let the previous owner(s) suffer the accelerated $$ loss.

      I did not get a lemon, as I said. I drove several other vehicles that were brand new and they also made the noise.

      There was nothing wrong with his KIA, the noise he was crying about is normal, it even says it in the owners manual. All KIA's also come with a very generous 10 year warranty on both the car as well as the hybrid battery/motor. This video was mainly put up to garner views for ad rev more then anything. None of the complaints in his video are valid. Shit he would cry if he was hung with a new rope...."its to stiff"

    • @myboringchannel
      @myboringchannel  5 місяців тому

      @profithunter777 if that weee the case, why would I take a loss on this vehicle and get rid of it? You're right, I want views, but you're wrong about my primary reason for posting.
