Choosing from a list of the best 6 weight fly rods isn’t always an easy task.
It’s is a very important decision for an angler to make as the 6 wt is one of the most commonly used rod sizes that you’ll likely have in your arsenal.
In this video, I’m going to share with you our top 5 6 weight fly rods.
    1. Echo Base
The Echo Base is a perfect fly rod for the beginner to the intermediate angler. The medium-fast action will help the beginner to get used to timing the back and forward cast correctly.
As with all Echo rods, the rod has a lifetime warranty for the natural life of the original owner. With all these features, can you believe that the starting price of this range is only $99?
    2. Redington Classic Trout
As its name suggests, The Redington Classic Trout rod is designed to be a perfect trout rod. It’s not only a great rod for the beginner fly angler, but also a good choice for fishing off of a boat.
    3. Epic 686 FastGlass
If you are a more of a traditionalist, then the Epic 686 FastGlass is a great choice. It’s a modern fiberglass fly rod, light in hand, and very durable.
This is a perfect rod if you are more inclined to dry fly fishing, but it can deliver nymphs and streamers comfortably as well. With the total length of 8 foot 6 inches and the considerable bendability, it makes an excellent boat rod.
At $895 it’s not cheap, but it will last forever. If looked after properly, your grandchildren will still catch trout with it.
The built rod or ready-to-wrap kit comes with various options you can choose from. These include blank color (amber or olive), grip (western or slim wells), and reel seat (anodized black or silver).
    4. Sage X
The Sage X replaces the old “Sage One” as its new premium all-water fly rod. As you expect from Sage, it features the best quality cork and has the classic Sage thread wraps.
The rod comes in a rod-sock with a durable aluminum rod tube to protect its precious contents. It also features a lifetime warranty.
    5. Orvis Clearwater
The Orvis Clearwater is undoubtedly one of the best value fly rods available today. It’s a great 6 weight rod and built with trout and bass in mind. It’s able to deliver dries very delicately and can chuck big streamers accurately to likely lies.
It comes in a rod tube and offers Orvis’ famous 25-year warranty.
Another option is to buy this rod as a complete outfit. At only $311, it comes with a Clearwater reel, backing and fly line. This also offers amazing value for the beginner to the intermediate angler.
There are so many 6 weight fly rods on the market these days, that even to me, it would be a tough choice to choose one. Hopefully, this video pointed you in the right direction.
Again, make sure you check out the links in the show notes for more information on each rod and for purchase links in case you want to order one of these excellent 6 weights today.
    Until next time. Tight lines!

Each rod has their purpose for different applications. I would say for the price the Clearwater is a great stick and belongs with the top rods, it has a lot of feel. Accurate enough and can punch a full line with 10ft of backing out running out the tip. It's a cannon! Although it has a heavier swing weight compared to other rods out on the market, it's a great stick for anyone looking for a solid budget friendly do it all stick. We guides play with it all the time and the clients learn to cast then abuse them, I'll tell you they don't break often. Also expensive don't always mean better. Good casters benefit the most out of modern technology, poor casters just abuse the lack of practice. All rods are good in the hands of a proper caster, as some are less favorable, some will shine.
Although I would suggest rephrasing the title of the video as it can be a little misleading. I agree with what cachie-7878 said.

Can you please tell me if the Shakespeare Sigma Supra is a good fly rod ot not. Because its the only fly rod available in online shop in India 🙏

If you’re just starting out, any rod is good. If the rod is affordable and it’s the only one you can get your hands on, go for it. Honestly a lot of people get frustrated with this sport and quit after a few months. It would be a huge mistake to spend a lot of $$ upfront when you won’t even notice the difference in rods when just starting out and you can upgrade later.

Duly noted. On lists that we only list expensive rods people complain that we're just trying to earn commissions or that they can't afford any of them, add a few that everyone can afford and people say they're not "the best". Can't please everyone I guess!

Title should say “Our Top Choice 6wt Rods”
How can you say these are the best rods? Based on what? You didn’t do a shootout and if you did, where are the objective results?
Where’s the Asquith? Centric? Igniter? Sonic? Etc, etc.

@@intoflyfishing although i think "garbage line up" is a bit harsh (being diplomatic here:) ) I would suggest diversifying the the line up a bit. from what I can see it`s mostly (all) American brands in these "best" videos. There are great manufacturers outside the US:) And IF it`s supposed to be the BEST, surely Orvis have better rods than the Clearwater. Suggestion; change the line up or change the message in the video(s).
