that wass another good video that i had not see i had lots of problems with egr valves
Excellent video thank you
Thank you for your video it was very helpful
aye, glad to help!
I have 2004 Ford F-150 heritage that is showing code po 442 I have replaced the gas cap and the service engine light soon will still come on. Do you have any suggestions of where I should look for the small leak ?
Have an 02 f150 5.4 and the canister came disconnected. Do you have any video of working on whats going on with the canister and power connection
Do you have a video showing how to replace the EVAP Canister Vent Solenoid/EVAP system service port part located on the firewall of this truck? I need to replace the entire part and I was looking for a video.
I have a 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT and I haven't seen any videos showing this and since the parts under the hood on the truck in your video is similar to mine I was hoping you had a video on replacing that part.
Hi can you tell me where the EVAP fuel tank pressure sensor is on a 2004 ford f150 new body style 5.4 4x4. It's not on the fuel tank.??? Please help
I got a 1992 F250 5.8 L I can't find spout in line connector can you help me find one
Amazing!! thank u so much!!
Glad to help. 👍👍 Good luck on your diy fix. Keep us posted on your progress.
I have a 05 expedition 5.4 iveee changeddddd everythingg. I only have the p0453 it runns good and engine sounds good at start, and when its warming up. When its warmed up at a stop or coming to a stop, the RPMs dropp and idles rough, feels almost like its choking on itself. Ive changed the spark plugs, the coils, the serpent belt, alternator, mag sensor, purge valve, cleaned the throttle body and still get the same code p0453 please help meee.
are pcv valves vehicle specific?
I got a p1451 code and I was wondering could you leave me a like to what this part looks like so I could buy one please and thank you sir
Thanks for s sharing 👍
Glad to help. Good luck on your fix!! 🤞👍💪
Hey is the hose from the back of the intake going to the EVAP Canister vent solenoid to suck close when running
I think that hose is my problem , rotted pretty bad throwing p0466
I have a 97 f150 that just threw a p0455, I know it's a gross evap leak. When I took the gas cap off the hard plastic around the top of the filler neck has a section that's broke off, would this cause the code the fire off?
Are you saying the seal on the actual gas cap was not intact?
The gas cap seal is fine, the part of the filler neck that the cap screws into is what I'm talking about. A section of it is chipped off. I've already ordered and received a new filler neck. I've checked everything else and its good.
What would cause the P0455 Evap Emiss Control system leak code to kick up???
Many things. The simplest would be a bad gas cap seal. Inspect it for cracks. If you don't find any cracks on that seal then you need to start looking at the EVAP system itself. Check and make sure your purge solenoid is good if your purge solenoid is good then you need to check your vent solenoid. You can check both of those for holding pressure and for resistance. If both of those check out then you need to pressurize the EVAP system and figure out where a leak is coming from, you probably would have a cracked hose in that case.
Where is the Evap assembly on a 2010 Ford F150 located? My truck is giving me a code of "unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum" all things I have read said to check the evap assembly
Off the top of my head, I think the canister is above the spare wheel. I might have a 2010 f250 at work. I'll make a vid and it will probably be similar.
What is the code you are getting? like p0xxx. Also do you have a fuel cap on that model? If so, check the seal on the bottom side of the gas cap for any cracks. IF you see cracks, replace it for sure.
I forget the code, but in the book, it says "unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. No, my truck does not have a gas cap on it. I appreciate you telling me where to find the canister. I also want to check the solenoid. I saw a video on how to check that. I think I located that on my truck, I just have to get all the stuff out of the way so I can get to it. Weekend job for sure in case I run into any issues taking parts off to get to other parts. I use my truck every day. Any advice, videos you know of or pictures that would be helpful since I am doing this all by myself..... Also, my truck is a 5.4L engine with 70,000 miles on it. I work on 60's and 70's cars with no problem. New computer cars/trucks.... not so much LOL
My '93 F150 4.9l automatic had stuttering/loss of power and I noticed fluid and air bubbles in the translucent plastic Y manifold of the Fuel Vapor Return Hose Assembly (right on top of the engine near the throttle body). I disconnected the line and capped off the Y manifold so those ports are effectively sealed for now. Now the truck runs, no stalling. But can blocking that evap line cause engine damage? I also left the line from the charcoal canister open, is that ok?
+Salty ehhh.. it shouldn't do damage to the engine but for sure with the plug on there it will not pass smog if you live in California.
Salty where do you find the computer on a F-150 97 Ford F150 how do you remove the computer off of 97 Ford F150 how do you replace a computer
How do you remove remove the computer off a 97 Ford F150
was it stuttering with very slow acceleration? i recently brought in my f150 2002 to get a waterpump replace (bad seal) and mechanic broke my radiator, transmission line and vihicle is running worse than it ever did since I got it. The only issue I had before bringing it in was overheating due to the bad seal but drove off the shop with a truck that is worse off. I didnt want to leave it in their any longer as mechanic also had me replace ignition coils and sparkplugs that he replaced two months prior.
That guy doesn't sound like a mechanic!!!
hi, can some one help me with my problem on my f-150 truck. When I step on the gas paddle quick it shake too much and sounds like its misfiring or something. but if I slowly accelerate it seems fine?
does your check engine light come on? is it a Triton motor? those blow the spark plugs out. maybe a restricted exhaust.. maybe. Also super common to get vaccum leaks and that can cause a bad air/fuel mixture. Any other obvious symptoms?
Or a bad camshaft position sensor
My 98 F150 XL manual 4.2 loses power uphill. Thoughts?
Have you checked fuel pressure? Any check engine lights? Any symptoms other than lack of power?
@Scotties Hobbies I don't know much. How do I check fuel pressure? Check Engine light is on. No other symptoms. Runs great otherwise. Just slows way down up hill. Here's the codes: P0455 evaporate emission system leak
P0300 multiple cylinder misfire
P0171 System too lean bank 1
P0174 System too lean bank 2
Yes you need to change the REAR DRIVE BALL JOINT ,, I had the VERY SAME issue, caused by getting stuck in mud and attempting to get out. Ford could not figure it out a Philips 66 Gas station mechanic solved the problem.
Could you please tell me where the Evap Canister is located for a 1996 Ford Mustang GT and what tools will I need to replace it? I would most definitely appreciate the info.
I just made a vid on that last month.. It's about to upload on Friday the 5th at 7 am. But for now, it's in the front passenger fender. Why should you be replacing it?
Thanks! The one in my car is old and going bad.
U said the purge solenoid is the vent valve not correct
Check this one out. Its a little newer. But doesn't include as much info as the newest vids. I need to make a update to these videos. Thanks for the catch!! Peep the channel for more emissions videos.
I have a 2002 Ford f-150 xlt v8 and it has no evap canister to begin with. My question is do they very between engines? Or can anyone tell me which one I need specifically? Thanks, in advance.
+Matthew Kriedel if you call your dealer and give them your vin number they can tell you what cannister u need. Was the canister removed?
It rusted out and then was removed.
is there a specific digit in the VIN that refers to what kind of canister i may need?
+Matthew Kriedel im not sure but they are make and modle specific. I bet you could put some universal evap canister but it wouldn't mount in the factory location. Also if you have smog inspections in your area you might have a problem with the smog if its not a oem replacement.
How many pvc valve on ford explorer 2001..one on passenger side whats on driver side
1 pcv valve. The breather is on the other side. When the PCV valve opens, fresh air comes in through the breather. That will suck clean air in from the intake. Through the engine and out of the PCV valve into the intake manifold.

Hello , Does the EVAP hose that connects to the back of the intake have to be fuel line ? Ford is calling it a vapor management hose and wants 85 buckaroonies . I also noticed that there is a small heat shield right where it touches the EGR valve . Any thoughts on a DIY budget fix ?
Thanks ,
KC
+Ken Claypool I would personally recommend that it be a fuel Vapor line. At the auto parts store they're pretty cheap, usually a couple bucks for a foot. For a heat shield near the EGR you might think of a heat insulator like they make to go over the spark plug wires.
Scotties Hobbies thanks for the reply. Ya it would probly be a good idea since it has gas vapors running through it . Frickin Ford parts pricing !!!! Heading to Oriely today after work .
Thanks again ,
KC
+Ken Claypool no problem, good luck.
Does anybody know of this is the problem if I can’t pump gas? every time I want to pump gas the gas pump pops out even if the tank is not full
Check this video out, might help.
I have a 01 t owncar. I have code p1451 and egr code. Replaced the solenoid under trunk 3 times. Code still there. Alsoo gas shoots back out at me when I pump.
+MrBodean2010 does the vent solenoid have a hose from it to ambient or does the vent just go straight to ambient? If it has a hose ftom it, make sure the vent hose is clear of all debris. Could also be the 'evap pressure sensor' not seeing the pressure increase. If it does not see a pressure increase, the vent solenoid will never open.
Scotties Hobbies yes it have 2 hoses. Whhere could I find the evap sensor
+MrBodean2010 make sure the hose going out is clear and has no debris. Ill try to find the part location. I can find the part easily on the web but i don't see location.
Scotties Hobbies ok. It's on top of gas tank. Thanks 4 your advice
Which one of these would cause po455 on a 98 navigator 5.4L engine?
Have you checked your gas cap yet? Always start with that on Evap problems.
+SCOTT BROWN yes I did and it looks good what's weird is that I got po455 but the check engine light on my dash isn't on and I know the bulb isn't out because when I open the switch without starting the engine the light comes on. I'm seeing the code with my scanner
+Juan Ramirez So its just a pending code. If you could get the cap pressure tested, i would do that too. If your in CA you can take it to a smog shop and they can do it for you. If the cap is for sure good then more than likely the purge solenoid is going to be stuck open or have some debris in it. But you are really shooting in the dark without a diagnostic.
+SCOTT BROWN thanks for the replies!!! I'll take it to a smog center to have them check the gas cap see if it's good but the gasket on it looks to be good!! I disconnected the purge valve and tried blowing air in to it which was impossible to do. So I'm guessing that its good. I shot some smoke in to the vacuum lines and I can see a bunch coming out where all the vacuum line are by the firewall on the passengers side by the battery. Could I have a leak there? This is on a 98 navigator 5.4 engine.
+Juan Ramirez The evap system should not pick up a leak in the intake. If you had a vacuum leak on a intake hose you should be getting a lean code. If you can induce smoke into the green service port on that purge solenoid, that should help you find the EVAP leak.
I’m Getting Code P0443 Saying:
“Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit”
Would That Be 1:33?
Yep. I just uploaded a video on how to bench test them with a 9v battery.... not long ago.
@@ScottiesHobbies Much Appreciated & Thank You For The Information
@@MewMewStyles glad to help. Good luck on your project. 👍💪🤞 keep up posted on your progress. 👍👍
evap system service port whats that do ?
+skulledmonte84 if you have a smoke machine you can induce smoke into the system to check for leaks. You can also hook up a pressure guage to see what the pressure is.
oh i see now so that has nothing to do with fuel ??? guy i bought it off of was saying it was a fuel pressure valve lmfao
it has to do with vapors coming off of the fuel in your tank, which IS pressure in your fuel tank, but not fuel rail pressure to the injectors. The canister collects fuel vapors, the valve releases them back to the intake on the engine so they can be burned with the liquid gas. your gas tank doesnt overpressure, and you dont lose fuel to the atmosphere when it gets hot and evaporates.
Great video and your acting in shameless.
Engine runs but nothing is turning what is it.
+Gene Woods man, ya got me.. is it a blonde?
+Gene Woods just kidding. So the engine turns on but when you put the truck in drive it goes no where.
Scotties Hobbies the starts but motor is not turning
+Gene Woods I'm honestly not understanding. So the engine starts? If the engine starts and you open the hood and look at it are all of the pulleys turning? Does the car stay running or does it just crank? I'm trying to understand this, if you can just go into detail a little more.
so how about removing the evap canister from underneath the bed of the truck? no human on the face of the internet has done this kind of video for a 1997 to 2003 ford f150 evap canister removal.
You probably don't find many videos on remove and replace of the canister cuz they rarely go bad. In the 15 years I've been working on cars I've only seen two of them go bad and that was due to being involved in an accident and the actual canister breaking. Why would you be replacing your canister?
Mine fell off due to rust i reconnected and my overdrive will not engage and evap codes pop up . There is an electrical connection on canister. Will that make that happen or is it a problem in the engine bay
