THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO. YOU'RE VERY THOROUGH ON YOUR EXPLANATION. I'M ABOUT TO INSTALL THE NEW CANISTER NOW. WISH ME LUCK!! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
To help with the gas mileage, spark plugs, sparks plugs coils, O2 sensor ( oxygen sensor) 4 of them , purge valve , all that and it will help a lot with the gas mileage, I have P0446 code i switch it out from my other truck but still show check engine light . But the truck driver nice and strong .
Thanks for posting. I couldn't get the vent hose on the right off the old one. Ended up just crunching the plastic with some chennellocks, after that it went pretty quick.
There's an even easier way. Instead of trying to pick the hose off. You can pull it off from the box at the other end. Just grab it with your hand and pull it out.
Could this possibly cause p0171 and p0174 codes, I've replaced damn near 20 things on my 05 with no luck? Vacuum testing the evap and intake systems later today and have watched your video 10+ times. Thought that I'd ask. Thanks for the video, I'm sure it'll come in handy during the replacement. God bless!
Sounds more like a vacuum leak than a evap system problem. Have you checked the problematic vacuum connection at the intake manifold? Hides low behind the driver's side cylinder head.
I replaced this solenoid and the P0466 code went away. ( I cleared the code with my DTC code scanner/reader) I grabbed the solenoid from a scrapyard only cost me $15. Napa wants $200 for a new one.😆 F them!!
Hey I just replaced my Solenoid took three days to get it from my local Ford dealer at a cost of $88. I just pulled the left side forward out of the cradle and pulled off the hose on the right and the electric connection just pulled off had no tab to press it off. I did put do dielectric grease on the connection! NO CODE after I erased the old PO446 - so happy.
I'm not getting any codes or check engine light but I can smell gas when it's off. I'll try replacing the canister first. Do you think that will help? Also getting shit gas mileage. Thoughts? I got a 05 f 150
Thank you. This is the only video of this model I would have never found it without you.

Did this solve a P0452 code by chance?

Might try to smoke test it to see where it's leaking from.
